So far everytime this happens, I have to let iTunes wipe the iPod before it will revert to how I want it. Frustrating!

Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores if you are running iOS6)>Apple ID. Tap your son's ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID and password.
You shouldn't lose the music, but if you try to update any apps that you bought with the family ID, you will have to use that password that is linked with that ID in order to update.
Avoid downloading past purchased content with the old ID if you can since you will associate the iPad with the old ID for 90 days and you will lock yourself out of your own, new ID for that period of time. Read more about associated devices in iTunes here.

I updated my phone to ios 7.0.2. Now my phone isn't available because my iTunes isn't 11.1. I can't upgrade my iTunes because my MacBook Pro is only 10.5.8. I can't change it to 10.6, and I have no idea why. Any suggestions?

I need help with my iPhone 4S,, like I say I dropped it yesterday and its in pieces cos dropped from a high,,, well the problem I got is I really need my photos of it if possible could do with msg and contacts also... I believe aim signed up with iCloud but I have tried for over an hour now trynna log in and sort the issue but just doesn't seem to do owt,,, the reason behind why I am struggling is I only own an ipad 4 retina and do not own a laptop or computer... Could someone please help me as I have photos on that phone what are just priceless and Neva get them again....

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

Won't keep "sync only checked songs" setting

I am trying to sync only the checked songs to my ipod. The problem is that when I change the setting to "sync only checked songs," it still syncs the unchecked ones. When I eject my ipod and then reconnect it, the "sync only checked songs" setting is off again. I've tried both hitting apply, and then syncing, and syncing multiple times. Very frustrated. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I just got a 4th gen. ipod touch. it works fine everything is great on it but when i try to sync only check marked songs onto it from itunes it wont sync any songs at all. I thought i solved the problem when i clicked "autofill" in the music tab under "my devices" but all that did was randomly put songs on my ipod. i went to the settings and unchecked "choose items randomly" and tried again but it did the same thing. i know its not my computer cuz the same thing was happening with my old ipod. i have "sync only checked songs" marked but it just wont work. These are your options:
1. Restore the iPhoto library from the most recent backup that predates the issue.
          Advantages: Always works, if library damage is causing the problem and the backup is intact.
          Disadvantages: Impossible if you don't have a backup. All changes made since the backup are lost.
2. Repair or rebuild the library. Be sure to back it up first.
          Advantages: May solve the problem with no loss of data.
          Disadvantages: May fail. May take a long time if the library is large.
3. Scavenge the library with a third-party application called "iPhoto Library Manager," which you can find in a web search. From the application's menu bar (not the iPhoto menu bar), select Library ▹ Rebuild.
          Advantages: All images should be preserved.
          Disadvantages: All books, calendars, and slideshows will be lost.

I just turned on my iPod Touch and all my music has been wiped... (my iTunes was set to manually manage music, and all my apps are still on the iPod...).

What has happened and how do I get my music back? Obviously I have some of it on iTunes but others I don't have anymore... I can't understand how my music would suddenly disappear when my iPod has been working fine. My iTunes was set to manually manage music (and even if it hadn't been, then my iPod would have been synced to it anyway, so that can't explain why it's gone) and all my apps are there as usual. It's the version of the iPod touch before the camera was introduced. Please help!

That makes it difficult to provide any assistance. I hate to say this but you chose to manage the music yourself and there's no way that i/we can figure out what you did that caused the problem.

Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

I have an iPhone 5s and in my iTunes music library have the songs checked that I want downloaded onto my phone. Instead of doing this, it is syncing all songs whether they are checked or not even tho I have the "sync only checked songs" box checked.

So basically it's syncing all of the songs when I just want the checked ones on. This is very frustrating.

When your device is connected, check the tabs at the top ("Summary" "Apps" "Music," etc. Under the Music one, check to see if "Sync Music>entire music library" is checked. If it is, that may be why all the songs are syncing.

Cannot Select Both "Manually manage music" and "Sync ringtones" for iTunes

iTunes won't let me sync when both "manually manage music and videos" and "sync ringtones" is checked. If I choose "manage music and videos" first, add my music, then check "sync ringtones" all my music that I sync'd is deleted. The only way it worked for me was to sync the ringtones first without any music in the iPhone then checking "manually manage music and videos" afterwards but the problem is that once the "manual manage music and videos" is checked the "sync ringtones" isn't checked anymore so if I decide to add a ringtone later on I have to check "sync ringtone" causing my music to be deleted from the iPhone. This is a bad glitch Apple please fix it!

If you manually manage music, to get ringtones on your phone, you have to drag them to the "actual iphone icon" in the device pane window, on the left side in itunes.
FYI:
Since the iphone DOES NOT support disk mode(like some ipods), there is no advantage to manually managing music, IMO.
