Hi
I had same problem, see my post or spyde683 post at link below, this cured my issue.
The SyncService folders are not visible in Mavericks 10.9.3 but are if you follow spyder683 post.

When I connect my iPhone 5 to my laptop and iTunes, I can't play movies from the iPhone on my computer. Why is that? Can I do this or it's not possible with iPhone5? With my iPod it's no problem.
Reinstall iTunes. Make sure you follow the instructions in this support document to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet. -
I installed Snow Leopard and have the latest version of iTunes. However, when I connect my iPhone 4S, it charges and iPhoto opens, but iTunes doesn't seem to recognize the iPhone. It simply doesn't appear in the left column. What gives?

I downloaded an app on my PC, signed into my iTunes account, but when I connect my iPhone and click sync, it won't copy to my phone. How can I get this app to install on my phone?
Your phone connected, iTunes running, under the "Apps" tab, you've selected this app to install on your phone, correct? Hit the "Apply/Sync" button, lower right on the Apps tab, what happens?

When I connect my iPhone or iPad to synch with iTunes it keeps getting kicked out and iTunes fails
When I connect my iphone or ipad to itunes, and i click on the connection in itunes where my name is, itunes fails? any ideas
Any one or a combo may help.
Give your devices a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. Then try again.
Try a different USB port
Try a different cable
Is your iTUnes up to date? If not, update it.
If that doesn't work, (if you're on a PC) go into the control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. THen redownload and reinstall iTunes and give it another try. -

Hello,
When I connect my iPhone 4S to my MacBook Pro (through the USB port), the synchronization process by iTunes failed with the following message "My iPhone could not be synchronized, because the synchronization process has not started".
What does that mean?
Thanks in advance for fixing my problem.I think I remember hearing that if you quit iTunes with your device still connected, then open iTunes up again, it should work.
EDIT: Here, this might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567 -
On my MBP iTunes won't start automatically when I connect my iPhone or iPad?
Today I encountered the following problem om my MBP:
When I connect my iPhone 3GS or iPad on the MBP, iTunes (v10.2.2) doens't launch automatically.
After self-starting iTunes I can synchronise and so on.
Can somebody tell how I can change this behaviour?
The iTunes-option "Voorkom automatische synch.... van iPods, ..." --> "do not automatically sync ... iPods, ..." isn't enabled.
Many thx
GerdHmmm..uninstalled, reinstalled, ran Software Update...something patched in iTunes, now works like a charm

Can't prevent iTunes from starting when I connect my iPhone
I primarily connect my iPhone 4 to an iMac at home, on which pretty much all of my content is stored. It's set up to sync wirelessly. Until recently, I synced my calendar and contact data to Outlook on my work computer, which is a PC running Windows XP. We recently switched to an Exchange server for calendars and contacts, and my backups sync to the cloud, so I don't need to sync anything at work anymore. I still connect the phone to the computer to charge it and to upload (not sync) photos, but there's no reason to run iTunes, so I unchecked the "Open iTunes when this phone is connected option".
The problem is that when I connect the phone, it still starts iTunes and goes through a "sync". I have nothing selected to sync, but it copies "Safari safe browsing data", whatever that is. When I look, the "Open iTunes ...." box is again checked. If I uncheck it again, the same thing happens again.
My computer's a bit underpowered, so starting a process I don't want to is kind of annoying, and I'd like to stop this.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
EricFinally figured this out. I had assumed that the "start iTunes" option was separate for each computer, but apparently, it's a single option. I had accidentally left it on at home, and since it syncs via WiFi every time I connect it to a charger, this always overwrote what I did at work. Once I turned it off at home, it stayed off in both places.
