My iTunes Match won't load past step 1; All songs in my library say "Exceeded Limit", even the ones that were uploaded before.

My iTunes Match hasn't been working for a couple of days. It said I had exceeded the song limit, so I was going through my library and clearing out some songs. When I deleted the songs, the box that asked if I wanted to delete them from the cloud wasn't showing up. I decided to update my iTunes Match before deleting anything else. When I attempted the update, Step 1 moved incredibly slowly, then stopped working before reaching Step 2. When this has happened in the past, I have been advised to try several troubleshooting tactics from the support forum and from writing to Apple support in the past. The first one is to turn off iTunes Match, restart the computer, and turn on iTunes Match again. I did that. The same problem occurred. I tried the second trouble shooting tactic, which was to turn off iTunes Match, close iTunes, find the iTunes Library Genius.itdb and iTunes Library Extras.itdb and move them to the trash, then run a Repair Disk Permissions using Disk Utility, then turn iTunes Match back on. I tried that. The same problem occurred. I went to my iTunes library to see the iCloud status of my songs, and every single song was listed as not being in the cloud yet and had the "Exceeded Limit" status, even the songs that have been in my cloud for over a year. I checked a few of the forum topics here on the support site. One suggested opening up iTunes while holding down the Option button, creating a new library, then turning on iTunes Match and deleting songs from the cloud that way. Then open up the original library and turn on iTunes Match. I did that. The status of my songs hasn't changed, nor can iTunes Match load past Step 1. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Maybe I didn't explain it properly, but that's one of the things I described trying in my first post. It helped get songs out of my cloud that I didn't need there, but iTunes Match still couldn't get past the first step. Last night I deleted the iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes library Genius.itdb, iTunes Library.it, and iTunes Library.xml files from my computer, entered Time Machine, and recovered those same files that had been backed up after the last time I added music (the time the problem began.) After recovering those files I opened iTunes and turned Match back on. For some reason, it worked, even though those were the files that existed when the problem initially occurred.The combination of having songs removed from the cloud as well as restoring those original files must have done something, but I have no idea why that fixed the problem.

    I know a lot of people are having trouble with getting past Step 2 at the moment in iTunes Match, but I was just wondering if anyone else was having troubles getting past Step 1? Last night, even just trying to match one song, I was stuck at Step 2, but this morning, it's not even getting past Step 1 (when it had always previously done this very fast), just saying "Sending information to Apple" forever!     I have the same problem. Neither Genius nor iTunes Match will get past Step 1. They have worked in the past so there must be some hang up with added music or a change in the backend.
    I have tried deleting iTunes Library Extras.itdb and iTunes Library Genius.itdb, and while this does cause the process to restart it doesn't allow it to complete.

  • ITunes match can't get past step 1

    I bought iTunes match as soon as it was available here in Austria. At first it worked fine. Then I imported some new songs. After that it has never been able to get past step 1 (gathering data on your media library). My MacBook was running more that 24h for several times, still I couldn't get past step 1. I can't and won't have iTunes open more than 24h in one session since I need to be able to work with it. What am I supposed to do?
    Maybe relevant: the iTunes genius-process also can't finish since I imported these new songs.

    I spent 4 hours on the phone yesterday with Apple support on this exact issue. Apparently ML corrupted my iTunes library. I had to get a senior tech at Apple to remotely access my Mac to walk me through the fix, which required moving my iTunes files around, as well as doing a complete re-install of ML.
    My iTunes Match still acts a little buggy, but a least I'm able to access my music. The only way to solve this issue IMO is to get Apple support to assist you the way I described. Don't waste time talking to a low level person, because they won't know how to help you (unless they're getting so many calls on this they've sorted it out). Also, since this is a ML issue, you won't be charged.

    Been using iTunes Match (ITM) since it lauched with no issues. Since upgrading to Mountain Loin, ITM just keeps invoking Step 1 every few mins and then quits after the results are returned from Apple. I tried turning off Genius and ITM and then only turning ITM back on with the same results. Anyone else had this same issue and found a resolution to this problem?

    now itunes match has load, now i have a lot of album without cover ! and some album match that are not the same on my laptop or my iphone ?! like the soundtrack "goodbye lenin" wich i have the 23 song version, itunes match on my ipad instead of giving me my 23 song version (with some uploaded of course) it gives me the itunes store 16 songs version ! i dont have the other uploaded song of the album, but i have other album that are uploaded so i dont understand that, but well, at least i have most of my library so...

    SO they waited until my return period had expired to reply and tell me they couldn't and wouldn't exchange it
    because my return/exchange period had expired...

  • ITunes Match crashes when loading playlists on Apple TV

    After the update to OS 6.1.0 on my 2nd gen Apple TV, iTunes Match won't load any playlists. When attempting to load, the device crashes and drops me back to the home screen. This ONLY happens with playlists. All other attempts to play back music works fine.
    I have reset the device and installed the latest update. All other devices can play playlists from iTunes Match.

    I tried the Apple TV in my second house. Same problem.

    I have 31 playlists; two of them are doubled by sync issues.
    I also have 43 intelligent playlist whereof 5 of them are doubled ones with the number "1" added to the name.

    If you mean you want to sync your music from your computer to your iPhone you need to disable iTunes Match on the iPhone. Go to Settings > Music and set to iTunes Match to OFF (not green). You may need to wait a few minutes for the change to register with iTunes. Connect the iPhone via USB/Thunderbolt and sync the music.

    To resolve this error, I recommend completely removing and reinstalling iTunes and all of its related components using these steps:
    Check for .dll files
    Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
    Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

    Itunes Store won't load!!! I've been trying to access Itunes for like the past, I don't know, two weeks maybe, and every time I go to it, it doesn't cooperate. It usually won't load at all, but in the off chance it does, this really weird basic screen shows up. There are no pictures, or icons like in the normal Itunes, just a bunch of boxes and links that you click on. And, the kicker is the fact that even when I click on it, nothing happens. I've tried reloading the page, disconnecting and reconnecting my Internet connection, even going as far as to run diagnostics, and reinstalling the newest software 3 times!! Nothing is working!! Please help, I would be very grateful!!!!!!!

    I have the same problem.  I have 64-bit Windows 7, all updates installed, anti-virus uninstalled, and have a specific firewall exception made just for iTunes, however the iTunes Store still refuses to load.  After waiting a (very long) period of time I get the following screen:
    Sometimes I won't get this screen at all, and iTunes will finish loading with a blank screen.  All of my other computers can load iTunes perfectly fine.  This error occurred directly following the iOS 5 update for my iPhone.  Seeing as that the only computer affected was the one updating my iPhone, I figure there's some connection between the two.  I have
    cleared catche, cookies, everything
    uninstalled and reinstalled all Apple software and components (and end processes)

    made sure I WASN'T behind a proxy server

    Apple Support tried to help with my request but for some reason refused to listen to the notion that this problem occured because of an iOS5 update (and iTunes 10.5).  The only thing I haven't done is wipe my harddrive, which seems to be the only option now.

    I need help please! My curve won't load past the white loading blackberry screen. I downloaded an app from the app store and it crashed my phone.  I called my carriers tech support but they are backed up and it might be a days before they can get back to me.

    Jenn, If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a white or black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

    My solution: I opened the phone, removed the battery, cleaned out the battery connector and reattached the battery. The phone turned back on and showed the low battery sign.  I had done this before and it didn't work. Apparently the problem was I hadn't properly connected them. You need to make sure it's locked on tight so when you close your phone slides on easily.
