My iTunes on my PC doesn't have a ringtone tab so that I can customize my ringtones...help?

I just need help to get this tab on my iTunes, or download a patch.

1. Choose Show Toolbar or Customize Toolbar from the View menu and put it back.

If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only.

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You will need to Upgrade to Snow Leopard to get a Compatible version of iTunes to Sync your Device.
Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.

Can I export iTunes files in an MP3 format to a thumb drive so that I can play them on my car stereo?

Is this even possible? I know dragging and dropping the items from iTunes onto the drive doesn't work. Anybody know if/how it can be done?

Some corrections needed (but I use an older iTunes and no longer bother to try to keep up with newer versions or Apple doings):
Unless Apple has changed things back to the way they were 5 years ago, your music purchases are DRM free and you can now convert AAC to MP3 within iTunes (unless your files are from DRM days).
Again unless Apple has changed things, creating mp3s from AAC files in iTunes will not replace the AAC. It will create new files (make sure iTunes preferences are set to create mp3). In iTunes you have to display the "kind" column to distinguish because your AAC original and mp3 copy will appear as duplicates since they will have similar tags.
You say dragging doesn't work. Please clarify. No files copy? The files copy but won't play? Dragging from an iTunes playlist to a drive will normally copy files (it does with iTunes 7.5) unless the drive is locked. Files will not play if your car doesn't support the file format you try (dragging AAC files will put AAC on the drive which is still not universally supported), or if you format your drive to an unsupported format. That should be specified by your car's player but likely will not support Mac formatted drives and you should probably leave the FAT32 format that many drives comes as. If you formatted to Mac then you should reformat the flash drive back to DOS.

Connect the iPod to your syncing computer and restore it via iTunes. However, if iTunes asks for the unknown passcode you need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod from backup. For recovey mode see:

This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'

I am trying to get ringtones from my ringtone app onto my phone and the directions said to click Ringtones on the top of iTunes. I am having trouble finding the Ringtones on the top of iTunes.

Go to edit then preferences in itunes on your computer and then check the box TONES and then click OK. with your phone attached to your computer with USB cable select the name of your phone on the left and then in window on right select TONES from the menu items across the top of the window

I'd suggest being more specific. What do you mean by "it seems to have thrown windows out of the system?" The Windows virtual machines should still be in the Virtual Machines folder in your documents folder. Are they there? What version of Fusion have you updated from and to?
