My iTunes on my Windows no longer wants to sync music to my iphone. Help?!
My iTunes is shared with one other person, and all the music that is being downloaded will go onto their iphone (note that we have the same iphone) without any problems. All the music from my phone bought on the itunes store can transfer onto their phone, but their purchased songs and downloaded songs won't go onto mine. It's quite frustrating when I have tried EVERYTHING. I've even erased and synced and the other 100 new songs that aren't on my phone still will not sync. Yes I have turned on home sharing, and I have also allowed the laptop to share between my phone. Suggestions are welcome!
Hi,
Connect the iPhone to your old MacBook via the USB cable that came with the phone and go to the summary tab and uncheck the button next to Syc with this iPhone over Wi-Fi.
Hope this helps.

Basically, my iphone has been in the same apple ID as my dads iphone and mac book, so my iphone has always been synced to his macbook. I bought myself a mac book the other day and want to sync my iphone to it. However i have obviously put my mac book in a different apple id as i know pay for things i download myself, how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it? ive now put my iphone into my new apple id thinking this might help? ive also tried clicking 'manually manage music and video' but this doesnt seem to work, it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it?"
You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content. -
Sync single song via iTunes with my iPhone 5 & can't sync music with my iPhone
Hey there,
I have two questions about iTunes and my iPhone 5.
1) I have my full music library connected with iTunes and most songs are not bought via iTunes. Now I have alle artists listet up with their albums.
Can I now sync only one single song from an album with my iPhone 5? If I want to sync music with my iPhone I can only choose between Playlists, Artists, Albums and Genres but not single songs. Is there a possibility to sync single songs from a full album?
2) The other problem is when I want to sync music (and only music!) iTunes starts syncing with my iPhone 5 and nothing happens. After a while a get an error that the synchronisation is stopped because it couldn't start syncing. Why? What can I do?
I use a windows 8 laptop with the newst version of iTunes and iPhone 5!Which iTunes version is installed on your computer?
What happens when syncing? Any error message provided? -

I have a used mac computer. I want to sync and update my iphone. Currently itunes tells me that my iphone is connected to a different itunes account and will sync, but delete everything from my phone. How do I make itunes sync and update my phone without deleting all the current information on my phone?
Iphone will sync with one and only one cpomptuer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer. This is the design of the iphone.
It will erase the content when you sync.
Why not update from the comptuer with which you normally sync? -
i have one computer and 2 iphones i want to sync music on. but we want different music on the phones. is there a way i can make 2 libraries on 1 itunes?
You can create an alternate library: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
But it is easier to create one or more playlists and sync by selected playlists. You can have some playlists for both phones and others for just one phone.
Here are some other tips: How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495 -
Strange sync behavior -- Itunes wants to sync music on two computers!
I use my iphone to keep contacts and calendars synced between my office and home computers, which it does nicely (asking me each time I switch machines whether I want to merge or replace the data--to which I always reply merge).
I thought Itunes was NOT supposed to be able to sync music with more than one computer--that it was supposed to produce a message saying, "The iPhone "xx" is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?" And then let me opt out of syncing the music, while still merging the calendar and contacts files. That's exactly what happened with my previous office computer.
Since setting up my new office computer, however, Itunes on both computers WANTS to sync the music on each. That would be fine, if it were syncing my music BETWEEN the two computers (leaving me the same tunes on each computer and on the iphone), but it's not--instead it's alternatively syncing with one and then the other, removing stuff I bought at home every time I sync at the office. If I try to tell the office computer NOT to sync the music, it warns me that that would mean erasing everything on the iphone.
Anyone have any ideas about what's going on here and how I can correct it?
Thanks! No, unfortunately you can't sync your music from your iPhone to your computer.
I'd suggest using and external disk to transfer your music from your XP system to your new MBP. You'll just have to authorize your account in iTunes when you first play the songs.
If you have an iPod, you can use that as a disk to transfer the music: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 or you can use any other hard disk.
Once you have the songs on your Mac, just sync. The songs on currently on your iPhone will be replaced with the ones in your iTunes Library, as you stated. -
I have updated software on itunes and my iphone4 and at least 100 of my songs in itunes will no longer play or sync on to my iphone. They all have an exclamation mark! to the left of the song title in the library. Please help!

I want to Sync music from my PowerBook 4 to my Ipod generation 7 but it says I need to update Itunes to 10.7 but when it finishes updating and i go back to itunes nothing has changed and Itunes is not updated.
In order to install iTunes 10.7 or later you need OSX 10.6.8 or later. A PowerBook can install up to OSX 10.5.8

pretty much as above? any very simple answers coz everything ive tried to folloq doesnt exist!!! >:(
You are far more likely to get help if you calm down and explain the problem. By that I mean, what did you do? What happened when you did that? What error messages did you receive (be as exact as possible)? What steps did you take to troubleshoot ("everything" is not the correct answer here).
As it stands, all we really know is that you want to sync music and you can't and that you are upset. So, now that you have vented, start a new thread without the hyperbolic references to cancer. I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
Best of luck. -

Can I sync music to my iPhone using a different iTunes library
Hi guys,
I've seen various discussions on the net concerning this subject, but none of which provide a clear answer. Long story short, my last laptop broke, I now have a new laptop, but am unable to sync music to my iPhone because it's a different iTunes library. When I click manually manage music, I am prompted with a message stating that I'd have to delete all of the music from my iPhone to continue (which freaking *****). I am just wondering if there is a way around this.
Thanks,
LWOh, it appears the sync from playlist malarkey works. Hurray!
