My iTunes video playback is not working.

So my videos haven't been playing on iTunes.
when I rent a movie, I cannot watch it, because it simply goes to a green screen.
I have updated everything that needs updating.
Also, the trailers don't even play- they're in green screen too.
I have tried renting in SD and HD and neither change the screen...
As much as I love hearing every sound of the movie, I'd like to watch it..
Any brainy folks outthere willing to help?

If you installed DivX, that can prevent iTunes video content from loading. Check the DivX website for uninstall insructions.

  • Captivate 7 event video playback controls not working

    Hi,
I'm using Captivate 7 and published an mp4 event video with limited playback controls (only play, pause, back, and close) on the slide, since the event video controls won't show up once published. When I publish the HTML5 video (with or without seamless tabbing) the controls are not working. When I click play the video plays and I can pause it, but when I want to continue play, the controls are not working.
I tried only to use the skins (clear, corona, and halo) given with the event video, but then I can't pause the video at all, since the controls are not showing.
We need the video to play in HTML5 mode for iPads and computers, but we're at a loss with the controls. The video has got to be limited to only play, pause, back, and close - no scrubbing or forwarding. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Nat

I know you will hate Captivate for this. But if you are publishing to HTML5, the skins you select here won't make any difference as HTML5 output comes with its own mysterious skin which is not visible until you publish and check.
Here is how that skin looks when viewed in Google Chrome browser on my laptop running on Windows 7.
Here is the skin I have used for that in the Captivate editor.
The best way to test these outputs is from a webserver or SCORM Cloud.

  • Pause FMR recording and video playback capture not working??

    Hello!
I'm trying to record full motion recording in CAPTIVATE, but the PAUSE feature looks like it is not working for me. I even tried to modify the shortcut key, but nothing works. Anybody else have this trouble or am I missing something obvius here?? I thought that maybe the FMR mode cannot be PAUSED, but nothing on that matter can be found in the manual.
Also, I'm trying to produce e-learning content for PREMIERE and SOUNDBOOTH. I've noticed that video playback within PREMIERE is not captured by CAPTIVATE. I've seen on the forum that others had this issue. Is version 5 of captivate behaving the same? Is it still not possible to capture onscreen video playback?
Any info here would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I'm having the same problem where Captivate 5 in FMR doesn't respond to the Pause key, however I'm noticing that there hasn't been a solution supplied here.
Is there another location/forum where Adobe representatives for Captivate are actively monitoring questions and problems for this product?

  • Video playback controls not working properly

    video
I put a video into edge and it works but the player controls don't show up when you roll over any part of the movie they only show up if you roll over a specific area at the bottom of the video, A very small area. I want them to be there either always or when the user rolls over any part of the video. I attached a link of the video.

  • Video playback still not working right, for any website videos.....

I have downloaded SilverLight, I have updated Windows, I have unchecked the Acceleration option from Flash Player, yet all videos from any website are still playing slowly. Audio is fine, but not the video. At my wits end, as this was one of the key reasons I downloaded FF in the first place. Please help. I have read and done most if not all of the suggestions so far, so now posting this. Thank you. Craig.

When I go to open Itunes, I get a message saying "Itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not work properly. I've tried closing and re-opening Itunes but it still comes up. I've also tried removing quicktime, repairing Itunes and restarting my computer after that. It still says the same thing. I've also tried reinstalling Itunes as well.

  • Error message after upgrade to iTunes 11: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly."  At this point my PC running XP loses all audio.

Several attempts to upgrade to iTunes 11 have failed.  After an upgrade to 11 the error message reads: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly."  At this point--after the upgrade to iTunes 11--my PC running Windows XP loses audio playback for all functions--in iTunes, in the browser and the volume icon disappears from the System Tray.  Only by removing iTunes 11, and then using System Restore to turn back the OS settings can I return the PC to normal functioning.
I did that.  I reinstalled iTunes 10.5.  Everything seemed fine, but when I try to plug in and copy a CD to my iPhone 4S an error message reads roughly: 'iPhone 4S requires iTunes 10.5 or higher to work.'
What might be the problem with my audio configuration?
Why doesn't my iPhone 4S work with iTunes 10.5?  It used to work with iTunes 10.5.
    Please advise.

  • This message recently popped up on my PC - "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly." What does this mean and how to fix ??

Hi Everyone - recently this message popped up on my PC, when I was trying to import cd's into the iTunes library and then onto my iPod - "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly." Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it ?? I am not fantastically PC savvy, so any information explained fully and all steps to follow to get my music playing again would be great !! Thanks, SC

Hi B, thanks so much for helping me troubleshoot !!
Ok, so when I went in to check the Audio tab of the Sounds and Audio Device Properties, I found the following:-
    * Sound Playback Default Device = No Playback Devices.
    * Sound Recording Default Device = No Playback Devices.
    * MIDI Music Playback Default Device = No MIDI Playback Devices.
All text in this drop-down box were light grey, and therefore unable to be selected or altered.
I also tried playing a cd through Windows Media player, to see if I could get sound a different way. When I put the cd in and clicked on Play, the following message appeared, "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your PC, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functoning properly."
Any ideas ? I had sound previously, but then a work colleague re-built the PC to add more space to the hard drive, and since then, no sound. I know this may now not just be an iTunes issue, but I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.
    Thanks again,

  • I just moved my itunes library from a win 7 computer to a win 8.1 computer. Getting an error message "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. Can't play CDs or get audio file from web!

Help! I just moved my itunes library from a Win 7 computer to a new Win 8.1 computer following the instructions on the itunes website. Everything is good except I'm getting an error message on the Win 8 computer if I try to play a CD or get an audio file off of the internet. I get an error message that says "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. I don't know where to look for or fix the audio configuration on the win 8 computer. As far as I can tell the iTunes configuration looks the same as on the other computers in the house. At this point I don't dare plug my ipod touch into the Win 8 computer for fear it will get messed up.

I have the same problem and I know that it is due to my PCI Audio driver not being compatible with WIndows 8.1.
iTunes isn't the only program that can't direct sound to the built-in speakers anymore. The obvious solution would be to update the drivers, but unfortunately Dell does not provide an updated driver for my model, so I am stuck with that.
However, saying that, only my laptop speakers are affected by this. I can use sound fine on applications where I can choose the output device and direct sound to the head phones, but for some reason iTunes does not let you choose the audio device manually.
To listen to music I imported the iTunes Library in Windows Media Player and changed the audio output using the following instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/c00d11ba
However, I would also like to rent movie's from iTunes,
Would be great if iTunes would let you choose the output device, too, like most other applications using sound  from Skype to Windows Media Player,...

I haven't used itunes here much just been playing the songs I had on it. Now i downloaded some more songs i plugged in my Ipod touch and it's not showing up and giving me the message above (Itunes has detected a problem with you audio configuration. Try reinstalling QuickTime, as this article suggests

  • When I open Itunes on my PC it says, Itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly

When I open Itunes on my PC it says, Itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly. I removed some unused programs from my pc before this happened and I think I may have removed something I shouldn't have.

I had this same problem and my sixteen year old figured it out. Since the Windows PC running iTunes (which supports a housefull of AppleTVs) was running in a closet, he suspected it was due to having no speakers attached.
Sure enough, when I went into control panel to look at my sound settings, I noticed something I had missed previously. There was a red mark on the device. I took his advice and plugged in some earphones to the speaker jack and, wallah, the red mark turned green and the iTunes warning never popped up again.

    Hello Wade,
This is typically indicative of an issue with the installation of QuickTime on your computer. The following article provides steps for reinstalling QuickTime to resolve the issue.
"iTunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration"
    Resolution
QuickTime may need to be reinstalled. Follow the steps below to uninstall QuickTime and then download and install QuickTime using the QuickTime standalone Installer.
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
Follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.
Windows XP and Windows 2000: Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and selectQuickTime in the list of currently installed programs.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click Uninstall a program (or if using Windows Vista's Classic View of the Control Panel, click Programs and Features) and select QuickTime in the list of currently installed programs.
Click the Remove button (or Uninstall for Windows Vista and Windows 7) and follow the prompts to remove QuickTime from your computer.
Download QuickTime. Note: There are two options for downloading QuickTime, be sure to select the option that does not include iTunes.
    During the download:
If you choose to run the installer, proceed to the next step.
If you choose to save the download, double click the QuickTimeInstaller file, then proceed to next step.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install QuickTime.
    Reopen iTunes.

  • ITunes cannot recognize touch/audio/video playback will not function

All right, I asked apple support about this and didn't even get the dignity of a response, so here goes. My computer crashed a while ago, and when we rebooted it, this started: Whenever I plug my iPod into the computer, I get a message saying "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again." So I followed those instructions, and I still get the same result.
A reason I think this might be happening is because I installed the iPod Touch update (not the one you have to pay for, but the one that puts that grey strip across the bottom of the home page), then the computer crashed. So maybe the update is installed on the iPod but not on iTunes? I'm not even sure how to get the update again to be honest.
There are a number of things that we have not reinstalled yet on the computer, like our audio/video playback. Whenever iTunes is started I get this: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not function properly." And it doesn't--we have no sound on the computer right now. That is something I would like to change ASAP, I'm just dying to hear some new music.
And when I say we have no sound, I mean zero sound capabilites: iTunes, Windows Media Player, even the internet, there is nothing at all.
I really don't know much about computers, and I just didn't know where else to turn. Thanks to anyone who thinks they can help.

    Hey dbsabres06,
Use the steps in this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698 to uninstall and reinstall the Apple software on the computer. The Apple Mobile Device support is the driver that allows the iPhone and iPod touch to be recognized.
For the audio configuration issue, try the tips in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304424
Not hearing audio from system events, or applications like windows media player might be a driver issue.
Try running your windows updates or checking your computer manufactures website for updates.

  • Faulty iTunes Video Playback

    Dear All,
I’ve unfortunately encountered a problem with iTunes video playback after installing iTunes 10 (and now iTunes 10.1) on my new Dell computer. The computer has hardware which should run iTunes with no problems (dedicated video card, 4 GB ram and a nice screen), and has Windows 7 installed, with the newest BOIS (Dell Studio XPS 16).
My iTunes video though is faulty. TV Shows bought from iTunes run in a way that’s halting and really choppy. No other video plays this way on the computer, just in iTunes. And its much more exaggerated when the video is stretched to full screen or made larger in any way. Its unnoticeable if I make the video the size of a notecard on my computer. It makes video unwatchable if its full screen.
Anything I can do? Any ideas? I’ve followed all the suggestions in this article to no avail (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1718), except for the IDE step, which doesn’t seem to be an option on my computer?
Thank you for all your help.

There have been reports of problems like this when iTunes has a big version jump.
I've not witness any problems that you have, I'm running on low power on battery and video still plays fine in iTunes, even fullscreen. My laptop is probably less powerful than yours is.
Problems like this seem to come about if there is a major software revision and the software isn't removed properly before installing a newer version.
Try http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 this is how to completely remove iTunes to install a newer version. Best to do a backup first just in case. If that doesn't work, there is another way, but we'll try that one for now.
