    Try updating your QuickTime Player to the most recent version. Does that clear up the launch errors?

  • ITunes will not open on Windows Vista after upgrading to new version

    After installing the latest version, my iTunes will not open. I have uninstall and reinstall two times and still nothing, any suggestions or tips?

    King Penguin set you on the right track. It's probably security software not recognizing the new version of itunes, and blocking it.

  • HT4061 iTunes will not open when my iPhone 4S is attached to my Mac Book Pro. iTunes will start up but as soon as my iPhone appears in the list of devices the program then quits and displays the message 'iTune Quit Unexpectedly'? Can anybody help?

    The Problem/s
    1. I am unable to sync my iPhone 4S with my Mac Book Pro, either by cable, wifi or bluetooth
    2. iTunes will initiall open and briefly identifies the iPhone in the Device section in iTunes.
    3. When iTunes starts to read the iPhone (displaying the spinning wheel), it immediately then quits and
    4. Opens a 'dialogue box' which displays the message "iTunes Quit Unexpectedly"
    5 The dialoge box offers the following button options to:-
    'Show Details'
    The 'Show Details' button will open and display a list of the 'Problem Details and System Configeration'. To the average user the information is useless, as one doesn't know what to look for to solve the problem. This is a long and detailed report (too long to include in this message), which includes information such as:-
    Crashed Thread:  20
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000000000006f0
    'OK'
    The 'Ok' button simply quits and closes the dialogue box
    'Reopen'
    The 'Reopen' button will again reopen iTunes, briefly showing that it is trying to read the iPhone in the Devices section, but then returns again to display the same dialogue box.
    Other Information
    1. iTunes will still start normally once the USB cable is removed from the Mac book Pro, but crashes again once the USB cable is reattached to the computer
    Any advice or help offered would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely
    Rob

  • HT1430 ITunes will not open on my Iphone 5 .

    Since downloading IOS 7 I Tunes will not open.

    Then sign back in again and the problem should be resolved

  • Since downloading iOS 7.0.2 my iTunes will not open on my iPhone, once the icon is pressed iTunes flashes up and then closes again

    Since I have downloaded the iOS 7.0.2 my iTunes on my iPhone 5 will not load, I press on the iTunes icon it opens and then quickly closes again, has anyone else had this issue?

    Great thank you! I signed by going into settings as above and tried to enter again, the first time I pressed it it didn't work but I pressed on iTunes again and it worked! Thanks!!

  • ITunes will not open on my iPhone5 after iOS7 update

    The app store opens but the iTunes store does not.  This prevents my music from downlaoding from the Cloud.  Any suggestions?

    Reset your device:  Hold home button + lock button (top of phone) for about 10-12 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
    If that doesn't work - make sure under Settings > General > Restrictions, that you do not have this turned on or that iTunes is not restricted specifically.

  • ITunes will NOT open from shortcut, cannot be updated to newer versions!

    So I haven't changed computers and I'm pretty sure I hadn't uploaded a new version of iTunes when this happened, but...
    One day it just wouldn't open from the shortcuts (like on the desktop and the start bar). It took me forever to realize it still opens when I go directly to its source and click on it, but it still gives me this box:
    {iTunes Setup Assistant}
    Warning!
    iTunes was not properly installed. If you want iTunes to be able to retrieve CD information from the Internet, you need to reinstall iTunes.
    (OK)
    So I did try reinstalling it, but nothing seems to work.
    And when I do try from a shortcut, this is the series of windows I get:
    {Windows Installer}
    Preparing to install...
    (Cancel)
    {iTunes}
    Please wait while Windows configures iTunes
    (Cancel)
    Gathering required information...
    [status bar]
    {iTunes}
    Error writing to file: C:\Program files\iTunes\iTunes. Resources \nb.lprof\EA0423.rtf.
    Verify that you have access to that directory.
    (Retry)(Cancel)
    If I click Retry, it just keeps opening the same window over and over. So then I click Cancel and get:
    {Problem with Shortcut}
    A fatal error occurred during installation.
    {OK}
    And if I try to install updates, I end up INSTALLING all of it but at the very end I get:
    Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually.
    Please help? This is so annoying!!

    Thank you to Polydorus! I was disheartened to see that the person posting the question wasn't getting results, but I thought I'd try the first round of easy suggestions provided by Polydorus.
    1. I did a disk check (see right-click c drive, etc.). this found no problems, so no solution
    2. I did the following: "The try a repair install of iTunes. (Find iTunes in Add/Remove programs and select change>>repair.)" This did it's magic! the warning which included "...If you want itunes to be able to retrieve CD information from the Internet, you need to reinstall it" no longer appears. I recommend anyone with this warning popping up each time you open itunes on a windows machine give this a try.
    Thanks again!

  • Itunes will not open when connecting iPhone

    Does any one have a clue how to fix this issue? I have two iPhones (my wife's and mine). I don't have that problem with her's. Thanks in advance.

    That support document was for if the iPhone was not recognized by iTunes. You say now that it is, and that is why you do not see a solution.
    I'm not sure about the setting for opening iTunes, because I have automatic syncing turned off. That can be especially important if you are having issues with the phone. An automatic sync can delete things when syncing with an empty calendar, or contacts list. I've always opened my iTunes manually, but you can also uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. If you are using Windows, you need to do this by following this support document exactly. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

  • After downloading i0s7 my itunes will not open on my iphone.  It opens for a second and closes.  I've upgraded, updated and restarted my phone a number of times? Anyone experiencing any similar issues?

    I've downloaded the new software on my iphone and now it won't open itunes.  I've done the upgrade, restarted my phone multiple times.  Anyone experiencing similar problems.  This is infuriating, how can the software mess up a previously functioning device and apple offer no remedy?!

    I have already solved the problem by accessing the music tab then logging to iTunes store through it. It hasked for my apple id which was provided, then access was approved.
    ever since, I am accessing iTunes directly and there are no problems.
    I wonder whether this was the link to the solution.

  • ITunes will not open on my iPhone 4S since the iOS 7 update

    Any solutions for this issue?

    I went to the music app, select artists along the bottom and then "store" at the top left. This opened the iTunes app. It first said it can't connect but after trying different icons in the app it started to work. Opens every time now. Can't explain it but it worked.

  • ITunes will not let me sign-in after updating

    device: Mac Mini Intel core 2 duo
    operating system installed:  Mac OS X v10.6.8
    version of iTunes installed on my computer is:  iTunes 10.4
    Details:
    After I upgraded to latest Itunes, the sign-in function is grayed out after I enter my apple ID. not selectable.
    Therefore I haven't been able to sign-in to iTunes, anybody have an idea of how to fix this?
    thanks ahead of time

    Hi there cazalazu,
    You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.
