I rencently reinstalled itunes to try to get it to reconize a external burner. It will now not automatically search the computer for all the songs that were orignally there.

Yes.
You should have copied everything from the old computer to the new one.
Type "move itunes library" into the google search bar

• My computer is already authorized. However, iTunes will not allow me to play songs that I've already purchased

My computer is already authorized. However, iTunes will not allow me to play songs that i have already purchased.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if only a small number of songs are affected, delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country.

• Itunes will not add to library some song I bought.

Itunes will not add to library some song I bought.  The PC is a new computer.  How do I fix this?

Diesel vdub asked a question which you have answered yourself, although you don't appear to realise it.
He/she (sorry diesel, I don't know) asked: "Is the song actually on the computer?" and you stated that: "I transfered all songs onto the new computer" and "I looked in the folder but the songs just cant be found" so the copy hasn't worked.
You also mention manually copying, as opposed to a previous (presumably different) method.
How are you trying to copy these songs? Do the copy first and make sure that works. If your first method doesn't work, try a diifferent one - such as the manual copy you referred to (copying onto a memory stick, card, disc etc. etc.)
Until you sort out why your method of copying hasn't worked, everything else you "try" is a waste of time.

• ITunes will not start up at all: Anyone heard of this problem before??

i have just formatted my laptop, reinstalled vista and patched it up, i think i have all the updates for it at the minute. i came to download and install itunes 8, it went in fine, then started up for the first time again, populated the play list an then went to sync up my touch, my laptop will recognise it and open the autoplay, however itunes never registered it, so i shut everything down and restarted, now whenever i try to open itunes both through the start menu and desktop icons but it just will not open. Task manager shows it as running and using memory but the program wont actually open, have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and restarting pc and trying it on another user, non of which have worked. Anyone heard of this or have any advice?

Try this. Disconnect the power cord from the Mac. Now hold the Mac's power button for 10 seconds. Plug the cord back into the Mac and try starting. If this doesn't work (and other things plugged into the wall plug do work) then you are due for a trip to the local Apple store.

• ITunes will not allow me to put songs on my Ipod...

I updated my itunes and ipod and everything. I've had my ipod for a year now and have never had a problem like this. I drag my songs from my music folder onto my ipod itunes area and it says it's putting it on my ipod but when it finishes the song(s) are nowhere to be found. I have like 2500 songs on my ipod and numerous videos so it's not like I've never done this before. It only happened when I updated to the new iTunes so I figured I'd uninstall it and put back the old itunes I had which was iTunes6.0.5 and I get this error now when I try and open it:

Can anyone either please tell me how to fix that error or tell me how to fix the problem with the new iTunes because I'll re-install it if someone can help. Thanks.

I installed itunes 06 and now it will not allow me to put my purchased songs on my ipod. I get the notice that my computer is not authorized. Yet, each time I try to authorize it, I receive the notice that authorization was successful and there is only one computer authorized. I never had this problem before I installed itunes '06. Can anyone help? It sounds like the same problem the person before me had.

• 'Last skipped' will not be set for short songs

Since the end of 2011 (last date for in my lib is 11/16/2011) I am no longer able to set the last skipped date for short songs (< 20 sec).
Does anyone have an idea, how to fix this?

Hi Spätzel,
According to the current description, I want to know how to set particular parameters for their Available Values and Default Values, and whether they are hidden parameters. Additionally, I would like to confirm which edition of Reporting Service you are using.
Based on my research, hidden parameters with defaults or dependent on previous parameters don't automatically recalculate after applying 2008 SP2. In this case, the behavior is a known issue. We can resolve it through upgrading to 2008 SP2 CU5 or 2008 R2 RTM
edition.
Hope this helps.

• HT1459 iTunes will not recognize iPod for syncing, downloading versions, etc?

I am attempting to connect/sync/download latest version of iTunes to my brand new iPod Touch, 4th generation.  Nothing happens.  It says I need to have 10.6.3 version or higher, but when I attempt to download to the iPod, it only downloads to my computer.  I am connected via the USB cable, not via WiFi.

Well, it looks like the iPod will need to come back to factory settings none the less. Try doing this:
First, show "Hidden Files and Folders" (Open my computer, click on "Tools" then Folder options, click on the view tab, put the dot next to show hidden files and folders and apply, ok)
Then, Terminate ipodservice.exe and ituneshelper.exe (This is assuming iTunes launches)
Connect the ipod, wait for it to show in My Computer.
Double click on it and you will find an ipod control folder in here - Drag and drop this to the recycle bin, close and open iTunes....Let's see if the ipod will be recognized allowing you to restore it.

• Error message  - and iTunes will not play anything at all

After scouring forums for similar issues, I have tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of iTunes with MacAfee firewall disabled. Nada. iTunes starts with an error message saying 'Configuration error, audio and video files may not play back correctly' (or similar). Library comes up and I can see my recent purchases, but nothing will play. Frustrating to say the least.
I am Windows 7, I have McAfee and Malwarebytes running.
What else can I try? This is extra infuriating as I have just purchased five albums of new music.

• Itunes  will not download correctly for windows8

I have purchased a new dell windows 8 computer desk top. I downloaded itunes the recommended for 64 bit computers. it has constantly froze everytime, I have contacted you before and had a service tech walk me thru the proper steps to uninstall the itunes and reinstall it again. The problem still persists. When I do a ctl alt delete to task manager the error message says itunes 32 bit not responding. Please tell me how I can get this to work properly.
Leslie

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

• ITunes will not allow me to tranfer songs from my ipod

Hello! I just bought a new computer and downloaded iTunes 7 on it. I then authorized it. I cannot get music from my ipod (that I had before I got the new computer) onto my new library. Also, I cannot burn a playlist I created from my ipod (listed under devices). The burn button is not in the lower right hand corner. Any ideas? Thank you

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. Neither can you burn from an iPod playlist, only from one in iTunes. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not have caught up with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.

There is a new function in iTunes 7 under File, "Transfer Purchases from iPod" which transfers iTMS purchases only. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
