  • My itunes wont let me put music onto my iphone

My itunes wont let me put music onto my iphone or take music off. Everytime I go to sync it it says I dont have enough space but I clearly have more than enough space left. I also am trying to take music off of my iphone so I can put new music on but everytime this box pops up and I really dont know what to do.

I think you have misunderstood the message you see.
The message states that you need an additional 1.93GB as well as the 3.93GB shown in the capacity bar. So it requires a total of 5.86GB.
There are a couple of things you can try:
Click on the OK button (in that message) and then deselect the media that you wish to remove. Once you have un-ticked the Playlists, or albums or whatever, click on the Sync button again to allow iTunes to Sync. It will then remove the un-ticked items, leaving space to add the 5.86GB that you are trying to add. If you continue to see the same message, but with a smaller additional amount required, then you have not deselected enough items.
Check how much space is being used by the "Other" category (shown in the capacity bar). While there will always be a small amount of Other on an iPod, anything over 1GB is probably not correct. Usually, a Sync will sort this out. If it doesn't then you may have to perform a Restore procedure, but I suggest you use that only as a last resort.

  • When I plug in my ipod it comes up with an error saying, "ipod "Skye" cannot be synced, duplicate file name specified." it wont let me put any songs on my ipod? Help!

my computer deleted all of my songs off my ipod one time with i unplugged it, i think i unplugged it too soon and it wasn't finished ejecting. now every time i plug it in it gives me an error saying "the ipod 'Skye' cannot be synced, a duplicate file name was specified." It wont let me put any songs on my ipod now.

Never mind.  I found out how to fix the problem
    - Go to "Computer"
    - Right click on your IPod icon
    - Click "Properties"
    - Go to the "Tools" tab
    - Under "Error -checking" cilck the "Check now..." button
After doing all of that, ITunes now works like normal for me.

  • Itunes wont let me download my music off of my old account

I've been trying to get all my old music off of my old itunes account and it wont let me. I've even tryed to on my computer and and says " You must authorize this computer before you dowload."

Have you authorised your account on that computer iTunes ? If not then you should be able to do so via the Store drop-down menu at the top of the iTunes screen (if you are using iTunes 11 on a PC then control-B should get the menus to show)
If you are trying to redownload them then redownloading past purchases may tie that computer to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • My iTunes keeps freezing during syncing and wont let me put any music on. What do I do?

I have a PC and the newest iPod touch. I was receiving error message -54 while syncing recently so i checked on this site and found out that some of my files could be locked. Sure enough I went through all of my files, found and deleted all the locked ones and wiped my itunes. I then kept getting a error message telling me that the sync session couldn't start. Then I wiped my ipod and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times. But each time I try to sync my ipod, itunes freezes and I have to restart the entire program. I am at a complete loss as to what to do. I have tried everything I could, and have had no luck. The program keeps freezing on me and doens't allow me to sync my ipod or my ipad, so it would seem to be a problem with my itunes but I don't know what to do, nevermind how to fix it.

You will lose all of the content on the ipod, but you will have to restore.  If you cannot then follw this:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
Your "friend" is not much of a friend.

  • Help,! iTunes wont let me play the music I bought at the the iTunes store!!

When I try play the music I bought at the iTunes store, iTunes first asumes my computer is not authorized to play it. I add my password to authorize, the authorization is successful, then I get this error:
"we could not complete your itunes request. An unknown error (-208) there was an error in the music store"
All I have done is added an external harddrive to my machine, there was simply no more room on my C: drive for MP3's. I changed the location of where purchased music goes to this new drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    thanks seratone

Is this a problem that happened over night, or you don't know because you only started to buy and watch movies now?
Can you check to make sure iTunes and everything else is all up to date? If that still fails, lets make a new USER Account, and see if things run proper through there.

  • ITunes wont let my put my videos on! Even though i have converted them

i had some of my own movies in my itunes. however i took them off itunes. now i have some different movies i want to put on. so i converted them to MPEG4 using iSquint, normally this worked however this time once i completed converting them i tried to put them in the movies section of itunes and the little + symbol comes up like its about to go in there. but nothing happens so i tried using the import tab. again it didn't work! whats going on please help!

I have never heard of iSquint before, so maybe someone who has can help you there...
I use Roxio's Popcorn to convert all of my homemovies, and that automatically places it in the iTunes library. Also it works with Quicktime Pro. I suggest you either buy Popcorn (http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/popcorn/standard/overview.html) or Quicktime Pro (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/) and try that. E-Mail me if you want any advice when using these. It more-or-less straight forward, but sometimes there are problems.
Also, you say iSquint normally works, but this time it didn't? Sometimes my Mac does this, so I restart my mac, and it works! This may be your problem! Also, try force-quitting iTunes and then restarting it. My iTunes used to do that when I imported movies, but then I started using Popcorn and QTPro and it works!
    Hope that helps!

  • I have an ipad and just bought a second one for my daughter and she wants all my music on her ipad.  We both have our own itunes accounts and music match wont let me put music on hers. how do i get around this?

I have an ipad and just bought a second one for my daughter and she wants all my music on her ipad.  All the music is under my itunes account yet she has her own itunes account so she can have her own apps and purchase apps with gift cards (She's only 9)
I subscibe to music match under my account but it wont let me put my music on her ipad under hers or even my itunes account.  I get some sort of 90 day error message.  How do i get around this so I can let her have my music on her ipad?

iTunes Match is not sharable across Apple IDs. The best way to get the music on her iPad is to leave hers signed into her Apple ID on the iTunes Store and sync via USB.

  • I have two itunes accounts on my iphone. It wont let me download any music from my second accont, I have two itunes accounts on my iphone. It wont let me download any music from my second accont

I have had my frist account for a very long time. I was the first in the family to an apple product. After awhile my family joined in on my account. So instead of having to deal with all their music getting on my ipod/iphone I created a new account. Well, I recently updated my iphone and for some reason it wouldnt let me listen to my music. It would just skip around and never play anything. So I ended up deleting it all and tyring to start over. I have all the music from my first account on it but now it wont let me put my music from my second account. It says " This Device is already associated with an apple ID" " If you download past purchases with you Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days." then it gives me the option to "cancle" or "transfer". I dont know what to do after that. I am scared to click transfer because I dont want to lose any of my music I had just loaded on. Help?

It is not telling you to update your iphone, it is telling you that you need to update itunes on your computer.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
