My iWeb page only connects to my new domain sometimes!!

As stated in the title when I click on my domain ( http://mountainandcoast.co.uk ) it only occasionally works. It usually links to my registrars page. I have set it all up according to Apple's instructions
A, CNAME and TXT records

I could maybe understand if it never works, but it seems to work fine sometimes! MMe shows is telling me that it is configured to host my domain www.mountainandcoast.co.uk.

You have not configured your CNAME correctly at 123 reg, which is why it won't work.
You need to delete all the A records completely and it needs to be set up as follows:
@ CNAME web.me.com
www CNAME web.me.com
You can't have a mix of the A records and CNAME or it won't work. Go and delete the A records completely and configure as shown and then it should work if you have also placed your domain name into your personal domain at MobileMe which you say that you have.

Download the html file google provides and put it in the root of your webserver.
Root is where you publish your webpages.
It's the file at the right of your your domainname.
Example:
http://www.yourdomainname.com/index.html
index.html is in the root.
To verify your site and if the google file has a name like dfrrndfbfgn.html, you provide this url to google :
http://www.yourdomainname.com/dfrrndfbfgn.html
Practice. And note that iWeb is not part of it.

How do I get my iWeb pages to appear on my new computer?

I have an old 17" laptop which published some pages to my mac account using iWeb.
Now I have a new 15" laptop and want to be able to edit and access these files.
However, I don't see a way to transfer these files over to the new computer. No "export" or "load previous website" options.
I also can't see where these files are saved to copy myself, but even then, how I would get iWeb to open them?
I can't imagine iWeb is dependent to work on a single computer for all time. Help please!

You need to copy the Domain.sites2 file from the User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder of your old laptop to the same folder on your new one. If there's a file in that folder on the new laptop already, move it to the desktop and replace it with the one from the 17".

IWeb pages only working in Safari, not other browsers.

I have created a website in iWeb for my school. All pages open and function correctly in Safari, for either Mac or Windows, but not other browsers. One of the pages in question is: http://www.grovemedia.k12.ok.us/Information.html The "Parent" page a similar problem. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried deleting and recreating the pages with no success.

See if your work DHCP pool is out of address leases. You could also try to get static IP information and use that for your work WiFi connection. Maybe the WiFi might be handing out some wrong IP settings.

What type of connection, thin or OCI?
For thin connections, jdeveloper doesn't use tnsnames.ora, the connection information [hostname, port, SID, etc] is stored directly in JDeveloper.

V4 Top Sites & iWeb pages

My iWeb pages only appear as blank white sheets when I try to load them into Top Sites. Is this happening to you?

With a lot of wrangling, I have been able to get my iWeb pages to appears on Top Sites. Sadly, I can't explain what took place.

New Domain Controller does not show in our different site's Domain controller's Sites and Services

Hi,
we have two sites in our AD environment. OMA site and NY site. we have three domain controllers in our OMA site and two domain controllers in our NY site. All our DCs are windows server 2008R2 except one in our OMA site that is 2003R2 the domain
functional level is also 2003R2.
We decided to raise our functional level to 2008R2. I added a new domain controller in our OMA site and transferred all FESMOS from the DC that was running 2003R2 to this new domain controller.
the issue now is that our NY site does not make any connection with the new domain controller in OMA site. it does not even show it under sites and services. I have checked the DNS settings and everything. if you try to replicate the connections
from NY site it gives the following error: "The naming context is in the process of being removed or is not replicated from the specific server."
can anyone plz tell me why this is happening mt brain is just frozen at this moment and cant figure out why is this happening

Just noticed this replication issue has been going on for a while now but we never noticed until I added new DC. here is the error log for the NY site DC.

Have new domain and host need help publishing!

It has been a while since I last used iWeb. I have bought a new domain name to replace the old one and I have bought a host. I think I have it all typed in correctly and I hit test connection and it says it couldn't connect try again later. What am I missing? Any help would be so awesome!

New computer, how can I sync my old published iWeb page with new compuer?

I had my old macbook stolen a year ago in Italy. I created and published an iWeb page to .mac on that computer. My problem is that I cannot figure out how I can sync my old page on .mac to my new computer so that I can continue to use it and upload pics. Any suggestions? Thanks!

and welcome the Apple iWeb Discussion Forum.
Basically you can't figure it out because there is no way to get published pages back into iWeb. iWeb lacks of any html import feature. The only thing you can do is rebuild it by copying and pasting content from the published one to the rebuilt in iWeb. However for photopages that isn't a good idea, it's better to rebuild them from scratch (iPhoto).
Be sure to make a backup of the domain.sites2 file (where iWeb stores) its files from time to time

Old .mac photo pages and new iweb pages

I have photo albums and movies previously published on a .mac homepage. I also have new photo album pages published through iweb. Are the two connected or related in any way? Do I just have to republish the old pages through iweb, or should they be linked or transferred. Is there any published information about this stuff anywhere?

Sure you can. You can provide links and redirection html pages back and forth between .Mac Homepages and iWeb pages. WillG4PB has put together a nice tutorial that I will refer you to...

Is there a way to open an iWeb page in 'new' window?

I'm trying to show a client how to run iWeb so he can tweak his own site on the road. He doesn't know html. I don't want to have to write out a complicated list of instructions for him.
Is there a way IN iWeb to have an iWeb page open as a 'new' window?
He's a songwriter ... wants visitors to be able to open a song and have it play while they continue to browse his site.

When you create a text link to an file you can set it to open in another window by setting it up as an external page checking the appropriate checkbox in the Inspector/Link pane. . You would have to upload the file to the Music folder on the iDisk beforehand and then use the following URL:
http://homepage.mac.com/youraccount_name/.Music/FileName
Note the dot before Music in the URL. Don't forget it. See the link titled *"This sentence is linked to a jpg file."* in this demo page. It's linked to a photo but the principle is the same.

I ran into this same problem earlier with my new iPod classic 160 gb. Turns out it could be your files show in iTunes but they aren't connected to the location those music tracks are actually located.
Does this make any sense?
You basically have to make sure iTunes is picking your songs from the right music folder via your preferences.
Option 1: If your iTunes is completely wiped blank and your music is stored in a safe place, backed up, etc. You can do the following:
Step A. Preferences > iTunes Media Folder Location > choose folder
**** please be sure to pick a location that is new or different from where you ACTUALLY stored your music to prevent your files from deleting itself as it updates****
For example, if you stored your music on your Desktop then you wouldn't choose your music folder to be the one in Desktop. You choose the folder where you want your music to go such as C:\My Music or in Mac, you choose the music folder.
Step B. Once you choose the folder where all your music is stored and you check the box that says "Keep iTunes Media Folder organized" and "Copy Files to iTunes Media when adding to library."
Step C. This is the part that will make sense. Drag the folder on desktop that houses all your music into iTunes. Because you checked the box "Copy Files to iTunes Media when adding to library," iTunes will copy all the backup music you dragged into the folder location you designated it in "Preferences > iTunes Media Folder Location > choose folder."
---- once all that is done, your itunes will have ALL your music tracks linked to the right location on your computer and your iPod will sync with as many or all of the music you desire.

I am unable to connect to my Wi-Fi at home, but am able to connect at work. Using my new iPad 4G with cellular and a Motorola SBG6580. My iPad 3G Wi-Fi only connects just fine; the 4G just "spins the gear."

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
