My iWeb Pages Don't Fill the Screen When Posted

I'm new to the whole web page building. I just made a website through iWeb '09, posted it through GoDaddy, but when I look it up on the web, the pages I made don't fill the web window. Top to bottom they're fine, but on the sides, they aren't as wide as the web window. Any help?

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
*Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
*NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

  • Firefox loads, icon is on task bar but when clicked the graphics slide off to the right but don't fill the screen & when clicked again, falls back into the icon

Firefox, Thunderbird & Quicken were active when I loadad & ran a slot machine game. When I exited the game & clicked the icon to return Firefox to full screen, I could see the image flash off to the right side of my monitor screen and disappear. When I again clicked on the icon in the task bar, the reverse happened- the image flashed from the right down to the icon. When I hover the mouse pointer over the icon, the open screens show up with the red X to close but the same thing happens when I click on that box. The other two programs that were open while the game was active are working fine, only Firefox has been affected. I cannot open the program to access any of the menu items as I cannot get the screen image on the monitor. I did uninstall the program and reinstall a freshly downloaded copy I had to use IE, as I am now) but with the same results when I run it. I did chose to save my settings so if something has been changed there then that might be the problem.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • How can I make iPhone 4S Video's fill the screen when using them in iMovie 11 on My MacBook Pro

    Hey Guys.
I am a singer songwriter from he UK.... I recently bought an Iphone4s, Ipad and Mac book pro (haha, apple hero, I know). I have always wanted to make the big jump to apple, just was waiting a little while.
I am thrilled so far, it's all great. But, I use Imovie (i am still getting to grips with it, but the features are amazing) to make videos of me singing coversand original videos for youtube.
The Camera on the iphone4s is great.
But, when I import videos into Imovie11, the videos do not fill the screen in their original form.
In some videos, I use the Ken Burns effect. Now, on the parts of my video when I use this effect, it fills the screen as it should do.
Why do the videos in their untampered form not do this?  I have tried importing widescreen, original size, and Large, but it alwys sits in the middle of the screen, fairly thin lookin. It fills the screen when it's on my Iphone, I am very lost.
    plesse help.
    thanks.

if i can offer any more info please just ask

  • Safari window not filling the screen when launched

I posted this question in the Safari forum and after a week of waiting and numerous bumps, it went unanswered and completely ignored so I thought I'd post it here. Basically what I am trying to do is have the Safari windows automatically fill the screen so that the scroll bar is at the *extreme* right side of the screen, but it always comes just short of that. The reason why this is important is I want to be able to make one quick swipe of my mouse to the right side of the screen and have the cursor end up over the Safari window's scroll bar. But the windows never open up like that, they open up just short of filling the screen so when I move my mouse to the side, it overshoots the scroll bar which is annoying because I have to drag it there manually every time. How do I fix this?

Here is how I want it. Notice the scroll bar with no space to its right.
But here is what it ends up doing. Notice there is now a tiny bit of space to the right of the scroll bar. This tiny space forces me to be careful with the mouse cursor and will not allow me to freely swipe the mouse cursor to the right or it will overshoot the scroll bar. Of course, I can drag the window back to the spot every time I open a new window, but that gets very annoying.

  • Safari windows don't fill up screen when zoom button is clicked

Hello, when I use the MacMini I have at work and click the zoom button on a Safari window if fills up the screen, except for the dock, but when I do that on my iMac at home it shrinks and moves the window to the lower left corner below the display edge. If there were a way to attach grab shots I could post it on here. Any idea what would be causing this? Thanks!!

    HI,
There isn't any full screen mode for Safari alone, you would need to download and install Glims so you can enable the Full Screen Mode and it works like a charm.

  • How do I fill the screen when encoding?

I have been encoding a short video segment using H.264 and trying to output to a custom 566x424 size.  Every time I encode the sequence at this size I get black bars at the top and bottom of the frame and yet when I encode to any other 3x4 ratio size, I don't.  Is there a "fill screen" setting in the encoder in Premiere Pro that I can use?  Why would I not get bars at the top and bottom on other 3x4 ratio settings and yet I do on this custom size?
You can see the example of the output here:  http://www.southridge.bc.ca/index.aspx

Hey Colin, this is the perfect solution.  I only had to slice 7 pixels off of each side to make it fit.  I've worked with PP for four years and I can't believe how little I know about these types of solutions.  I do a lot of video editing, but it is fairly formulaic and I don't have much time to experiment as I manage a school web site, do all the photography and video and manage the AV services.  I really appreciate you taking the time to provide me with just the right solution and therefore adding to my knowledge base and skills.  I'll be sure to pass the favour along.

  • How Can I Change the Size of My Home Page So That It Fills the Screen?

I have a PowerBook G4. Up until a couple of weeks ago when I opened Safari the home page filled the screen. Something has happened and now it fills only a portion of the screen. I can move the page around, change the size slightly by using the green button next to the minimizing button, but nothing I do will enlarge it to fill the screen. I have gone to View and Preferences, but find nothing to resolve this. Please help!

You're welcome Maureen. Glad I could help.
Thanks for the and Aloha from Big Island.

  • Using the Motorola Atrix w/ the laptop dock, when I open a web page with Firefox I have to hit "Ctl +" three times to make the page fill the screen. Is there any way to set up so pages open the right size?

I'm using the Motorola Atrix smart phone with the Laptop Dock. When I open a web page with Firefox I have to hit "Ctl +" three times to make the page fill the screen. Is there any way to set up the Firefox browser to open the web pages the right size in the first place?

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965
Or the NoSquint extension: <br />

  • Unable to get HD Wide Screen 16:9 to fill the screen on TV.

    12/20/08
Problem: I am not able to get HD Wide Screen 16:9 to fill the screen on TV. Leaves dark bands on the top and bottom of picture.
What I'm working with: Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processors with 2GB Memory soon to be 6GB & 30 inch screen. QuickTime Pro 7.5.5, Final Cut Express 4.0.1, and iDVD, 7.0.2.
New JVC, GZ-HD3U camcorder with QuickTime conversion software, recently updated, provided by JVC with the camera to change native TOD. files created in the camcorder to native MPEG2 files in Quicktime at a size of 1920 x 1080.
Two TV's, one Wide Screen HD and the other standard screen. I have changed the TV aspect rations back and forth from 4:3 to 16:9 and the only thing that changes is the size of the black bands on the top and bottom of the screen. The black spaces are larger in 16:9, making the picture appear squeezed.
I am using RW DVD discs so I can continue to try different setups without wasting discs and so far I have tried about 12 different arrangements. Two methods work but they are export conversions to a 4:3 aspect ratio and 720X480DV/DVCPRO-NTSC. Certainly this is a work around, but doing this looses the Wide Screen HD effects provided by the original JVC movies.
When I import the clips, and I've tried a number of different imports from QuickTime to Final Cut Express, I make sure that the Sequence set up matches or comes as close as possible to the imported clips. I've tried exporting them from FCE without changes and I have exported them using QuickTime to change them to different formats using nearly everything available trying to get the clips or sequences ready to import to iDVD.
In iDVD I have set up using both aspect ratios and it appears as thought setting up in 16:9 makes the spaces above and below even larger on TV. In fact it creates these spaces above and below even on the 720X480DV/DVCPRO-NTSC clips that work just fine on the 4:3 aspect ratio settings on the same TV.
If anyone has overcome this problem, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. So far, I've spent over a 100 hours on it to no avail.
    Larry

Tom, I don't know where to go in FCE to create a AVCHD AIC Sequence. I can find the
1920X1080i60 in the Sequence format without any problem. And in QT don't know where to select AIC but I select Apple Intermediate Codec, and under compressor I select HDV 1080i interlaced frame rate 29.97. Under Export Size Settings I don't know rather to select 1920 x 1080 HD or HD 1920 x 1080 16:9 and what about preserve aspect ratio using and Deinterlace Source Video?
Part two: When I create a Sequence in FCE with the 1920X1080i60 designation, and then import a QT HD 1920X1080 16:9 Intermediate Codec clip into a bin and then open the clip in that sequence I'm asked if I want to match the clip to the sequence and if I don't I have rendering. If I match them the rendering, as you said, goes away. However, I notice that when I check out the Item Properties on them after the above process, the Aspect ratio in the clip and Sequence, suddenly becomes HD 1440x1080. Is this normal?

  • Setting objects to fill the screen

I'm trying to have my background with various color panels to sit behind text so that when I change the subject I can change the color. Also if the the text extends or shortens I would like to go in and pull up or pull or down this box to cover the edited text. Here is an example of what I mean...
So I try this in Muse as a test and I seem to fill the screen like so.....
However when I preview in browser this happens....
I've set my page properties to page width 1024, min height 768, mm margins at 20 and the rest are all the default settings. I would like to remove the background so that my colored blocks would cover it. Here I have designed a white BG with cross in the middle. What should I do with my BG setting?
Really grateful for any help you can give on this, I just cant work it out!
    Chris Kimber

    Hello,
You cannot place a 100% screen width item in the background as Browser fill.
However you can place a rectangle on the page itself (either on Master page or on page itself) which can cover 100% browser width.
Please refer to the view : http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-design-for-flexible-browser-width/
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating a background which fills the screen

    Hi,
I am simply trying to create a background to my CSS website using a div tag.  At the moment, I have created a div tag which wraps around all the content div tags.  Is there a way of setting this so it fills the screen of whoever visits my page, irrelevant of there screen size? All I want in my background is a colour.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Andy

    CSS:
    #divName {
    width: 100%; /**resizes to viewport**/
    background-color: #000000; /**use desired hex color code**/
