  • Problems with the new iPad and Joikuspot premium after iOS 6

    Hi,
I'm experiencing serious problems with my new iPad after last iOS update. Usually I was connecting to the internet through Joikuspot premium on Nokia mobile phone (E6). I was able to do everything, https sites surfing, absolutely everything with no exceptions.
Now, after iOS 6 update, I can't connect to https sites, google+, sync calendar etc.
I've tried to change connection criteria on joikuspot but nothing. The fact is also that other devices as laptop or other smartphones are still working perfectly, in any case, sharing the wi-fi connection created by joikuspot.
Finally the problem is 100% due to the iPad and the new iOS.
disappointing, amateur for such a device... (iPad I mean).
    Any help?
    Many many thanks
    Vittorio

Ho lo stesso problema, dopo l'aggiornamento a IOS 6 l'ipad non riconosce più il mio nokia N8. Con IOS 5 andava una cannonata...
    vorrei ritornare a IOS 5

  • It´s possible to use the "Remote" app with Itunes and a Nokia E72 with Joikuspot installed only? Or I´ll need to buy a modem Wifi?

It´s possible to use the "Remote" app with Itunes and a Nokia E72 with Joikuspot installed only? Or I´ll need to buy a modem Wifi?
I was using "remote" with a D-link modem, that works fine at my iPad. But now I´m using only the cell phone as modem 3G, and don´t want to intall a router to put new cables at my notebook.

    What?
You want to control iTunes on your computer using the Remote app on your iPad?
And you want to connect the iPad and computer through your Nokia?
    No, this will not work.
Just create a network with your notebook.

  • Joikuspot not working on brand new Nokia 808

I've just purchased a Nokia 808 from Singapora and tried using Joikuspot.  Unfortunately for some reason it fails to start a connection.  I've made sure that BOTH mobile data and wifi are on as well.  When I start the program, it asks if I want to start a connection (to which I say yes), I choose AT&T Internet and wait.  I can see the 3G internet icon start up, but the wifi icon (or transmitting icon) never appears and the message "Connection failed, Connection unavailable" appears up at the top.
I've tried reinstalling Joikuspot (well, I purchased the premium version actually), reinstalling the phone software (via Nokia Suite) and doing a factory reset with no success.  Internet and other apps seem to work fine under 3G and wifi as well so I'm not sure what's going on.  Any information regarding the matter would be extremely helpful.  Thanks everyone.
    Jon
Btw, I've also contacted the people at Joiku and what they've recommended (factory reset, checking certain settings) hasn't worked either. :-(

    Hi all,
This post is about using the third party application JoikuSpot in USA (and other FCC governed countries) and is copied to the following threads:
    http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Phone-Applications/Joikuspot-not-working-on-brand-new-Nokia-808/m-p/...
    http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nseries-and-Symbian-Smartphones/Pureview-808-Intermittent-wireless-c...
    http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nseries-and-Symbian-Smartphones/Help-Does-non-US-variant-808-purevie...
    1) It doesn't matter where you get your Nokia 808 PureView from, ie it doesn't matter if it's a US, Singapore or Finnish variant.. If you are using that device on a network/carrier in the US, the device recognises this and is not going to allow you to make Ad-Hoc wlan connections, as per the regulations set out by the FCC.
    2) I understand (this I am not certain on) that the FCC regulations came into force in 2011. Therefore for any device manufacturer since then, the device is not allowed to create Ad-Hoc networks otherwise the device manufacturer wouldn't get FCC approval.
    3) The FCC restrictons are in this case technically talking about Ad-Hoc networks, not 'wifi direct' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Direct) networks that are used for example in Lumia 610/710/800/900.
    4) I understand the US Variants of Nokia 808 PureView do not have JoikuSpot preinstalled.
    5) I understand that US customers are not able to purchase JoikuSpot from Nokia Store.
    6) JoikuSoft should be aware of this as they are making the software to create the Ad-Hoc networks. I will find someone to talk to JoikuSoft, failing that I will do it myself. I noticed a post from 'greentoy' claiming "According to Joikusoft Support, It should work fine in US, but they didn't know for sure.". Greentoy, if you're reading this please post me the JoikuSoft contact you had so I can sort this out with them.
It goes without saying, if you have Nokia 808 PureView in the US, and are using JoikuSpot successfully, then I am happy for you and don't want to cause problems for you, but I suspect the FCC would be happy to tell you about their feelings..
Are there any other questions I should be aware of using JoikuSpot in the US before I try to get in touch with JoikuSoft?

  • Joikuspot free error

I appear to be having a problem with Joikuspot wi fi free edition 3.2, I can't start it as I get a pop-up saying connection failed but the connection seems active & using 3.5G network, if I switch on Wi Fi it asks if I wish to overwrite the wi fi connection (my wi fi router settings) which is already on there, I don't wish to do that. My question is whether I do have a problem &, if so how to fix it.
    E7 running symbian Belle.

False alarm, choosing yes didn't overwrite the settings, Joikuspot now working. feeling a bit sheepish.

  • Joikuspot (free) and Android Devices

    Hello,
I want to get a tablet.  Thinking of Android...but  I tried to use my N8 with Joikuspot free at an electronics store with a bunch of tablets. All worked except for Android devices, Ipads and some other no name brands with proprietary OS tablets found it and it worked.  All laptops also found it.  But no Android tablets or phones in the area detected it.
One Android device foun it (Jellybean) but would not connect.
I read that Android does not support Ad Hoc connections which Joikuspot provides.
I tried some Android forums, but they either had a Bluetooth solution (too slow) or they said try the Nokia forums.
Besides Joikuspot - any other Wifi hotspot apps?  Would Joiku Spot full work - anyone have it and try it with and Android device?
    Anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks,

It does seem to be possible to make android work with ad-hoc wifi. Search for "android ad-hoc wifi" - but it does seem to carry quite a highrisk of causing problems. I could try it out on my tablet, but it is unstable enough as it is so I don't want to risk making it even worse.
I wish it was possible to install Symbian onto my android tablet, but failing that I think I will soon be jumping ship to apple - influenced somewhat by the idea of a display that will do the 808 pictures justice.

  • Setting Wifi Hotspot using Joikuspot light on Noki...

I am using Nokia C7, i want this to work like a Wifi hotspot so that i can connect my IPAD 2 to internet. I had installed Joikuspot light on my C7, it gets started successfully, also it is visible on my ipad and get connected but when opening any website it give error as "Invalid server name" or "Safari cannot open the page becouse it is not connected to the Internet" on my Ipad. please let me know how do o resolve this issue.

Have you checked the security settings on the iPad ? You may need to change them to None as they may be preventing the connection through Joikuspot. I don't use Apple products, but did have to change security on Windows and Joikuspot premium to get it to work !

  • Warning - Joikuspot broken with Belle

    Be careful:
if you use Joikuspot Premium (makes your phone a wifi hotspot), there are several reports that after the upgrade to Belle it will no longer work on E7, N8, C7.
There is even a warning from Nokia that Joikuspot on C7 will not work.
So if this is important to you, delay the upgrade until Joikuspot will get an upgrade too.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
There is no need to worry, Joikuspot will work very well with your
upgraded Belle devices (as you can see, I'm using it right now!).
    From @joikuspot twitter tweet, 02/13/12;
"If you use Belle and Joikuspot, remember to turn ON your phone's wifi!"
As you know, easiest way to do it is swipe vertically your phone's screen
from up and make sure the Wi-Fi sign is "blue".
    Enjoy your browsing!

    Hello @kranthikiran_a,
2.) Have you seen this posts about Joikuspot?
"If you use Belle and Joikuspot, remember to turn ON your phone's wifi!" and
"Joikuspot users! If there is no internet connection, check if you have antivirus activated. Choose 'Allow all' or turn your antivirus off."

  • Joikuspot premium cannot be used after upgrade!

Hi, i have re-purchased the joikuspot premium software for my new phone from Nokia Ovi Store. After i downloaded the program from Nokia website, i can use the software immediately. when i started to use the software, I was being reminded the availability of the new version 3.0. Therefore i went to joikuspot website using my phone E72 to update the software. However, after i installed the software, it ask me the 12 digit code which i do not have(Nokia did not issue me with the code). how do i get the 12 digit code from ovi store??can anyone help??
    KaveGoh.

You seem to have a very old version initially of JoikuSpot in your phone, which still uses the digit codes for DRM and for some reason doesnt recognize your license key. Most likely because the initial version you got from OVI Store has different DRM mechanism as the version you have now replaced into your phone. This is unfortunate, related to DRM detection differences BUT the solution is easy; just contact Joikusoft customer service at [email protected] or via support site www.joiku.com and they shall assist you further with your need to renew your license key.
