Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Palm TX locks up when I try to add a new contact...

I'm not sure if this is the right area for this, but...
I can view the two contacts that Palm put in there, but ever time I try to add a new contact, a screen comes up with a last name, first name and picture option... but I cannot select anything, I cannot type anything, and the hard buttons do nothing. All I can do is to hit the reset button on the back. Help?

Is this a new TX? Did you upgrade from another Palm device, and if so, did you follow Palm's guide exactly as instructed?
As with most problems that occur on a Palm PDA, it is either software or hardware related and we have to determine which one.
Best method is to first make a complete backup of your unit to your SD card using the free "NVBackup" (available from http://www.freewarepalm.com) After the backup is complete, Hard Reset the unit, then test to see if full functionality returns.
To perform a Hard Reset:
While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.
DO NOT HOTSYNC YET! Test the unit before reinstalling any software. If the unit works correctly, your problem is being caused by a "drug interaction" of software - maybe one rogue program, or a combination of several. You'll have to reinstall the third-party programs one or a few at a time to find the problem one. To avoid re-installing a software issue, rename your /Backup directory in your Palm folder (on a PC it's found here: C/Program Files/Palm(One)/"your HotSync ID name truncated"/Backup) to something like "/BackupOLD". Now perform the HotSync, choose your HotSync name you've been using, and all your PIM data will return, but not the third-party programs. Test for functionality again. If all is good, start installing the old programs from your /BackupOLD directory one (or a few if brave) at a time.
If the unit does not work after a Hard Reset is performed correctly, then it may be Hardware-related. (If it's a connection problem via either BlueTooth or Wifi, be sure nothing has changed on the unit you're trying to connect to!)

You can not add events to the birthday's calendar. To add birthday's to the birthday calendar you need to add the birthday to a contact in the Contacts app.
You can set your default calendar here:
iCal > Preferences > General > Default Calendar and chose the calendar you want to default to.

If you are running Tiger, you don't have time machine.
You need to get something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner (sorry, I don't have a handy link for CCC but you can Google it to get their site) to make a clone of your drive on the external and then do incremental backups. The free versions do a lot and you can upgrade to the full-service versions for small change if you need more. The one time I used SuperDuper! for cloning a volume it worked just fine.
(My backup application is the last PPC capable version of Retrospect, which does a credible job, or has over the past ten-twelve years.)

soltion is very simple .close itunes and all programes that r open than .go to run and type C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes . . no delete sc infoand than . diisconnect ur iphone from itunes and re connect, when itunes will synchronize it will give the same messagee again , that u r not auithorized, read the whole message, there will be written that if u dont authorize some of ur apps will be deleted or removed, u have to click donot authorize and than the apps or songs causing problem will be remeved and ur fone wil now be synchronized .. . than u can download those apps or songs after authorization . ... .

How do I know if a URL already exists in the bookmarks when I try to add a new bookmark?

I have always been troubled by this problem because I have hundreds of bookmarks and I often can not remember whether a page has been saved.
When I try to transfer to Safari from Chrome I found this very serious problem because Chrome has a reminder of duplicate bookmarks.
I know there are some ways to find dupes and delete them. But what I want is getting a reminder about whether the bookmark already exists, and where, before the duplicate generated.
So is there any way to solve this problem? Or will Apple make improvements in the new version in OS X 10.10?

WRT54G v6 crashes when I try to add a new pc

I have a WRT54G v6 running 1.02.8 Firmware.
We just picked up a new laptop, and when we try to access the wifi, it crashes the network. None of the other devices can access it.
I have been reading around, and am wondering about resetting the router to defaults, but I don't see any firmware updates available for it on the download page. We updated it several years ago because of a device that wasn't working, and I'm concerned if I go back to defaults I may lose one of my other devices.
Thoughts or suggestions?

Will the other devices connect to the network if the new laptop is connected? If that's a yes, try enabling the QoS. Try also connecting the laptop to another network to further isolate the situation. If you can still access the setup page, verify the wireless password of the network. It might've been changed if you've connected the new laptop using the WPS feature.
There's no new firmware available for this router but for me, resetting it is necessary as that will help you confirm if the router is faulty. Press the reset button for 10 to 15 seconds and do a reboot before reconfiguring it.
If the same thing happens and all devices won't connect to the network, now must be the time for you to upgrade to one of the latest routers.

The keyboard will not appear when you first hit the Edit button. It will not appear until you tap into one of the fields that you want to edit, such as name or number.
If it still isn't appearing there, then try powering the phone off and then back on again, test. Still not working? Then try a reset, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will not affect any of your data. See if it works after that.

I have obsolete computers and devices attached to my appleid. I cannot deauthorize them as they are gone!!! (Had a fire and had to replace all tech systems) Because I spent alot of monies on my purchases, it would be nice to be able to combine all these items and not have to repurchase them. How can I update the current number of computers and correct ipods, ipads and iphones together; and get rid of all old computers and ipods, iphones that are authorized under the appleid I have always used. I have recently invested a large sum into creating a network and backup system that has yet to be working as it should. Unfortuneately it has left me with very little left to try to convert to the mac systems entirely. Please answer my questions in a language that I can understand.....as this problem is affecting my household, organization and office techniques. When I try to add a new search add-on I get a "Firefox Add-on" search rather than the one I tried to install. How do I stop that from happening?

The Add-on Manager shows the add-on I downloaded but the drop down menu shows a Firefox Add-on search option.

The search on the search bar that Has as an icon a green jigs-saw piece and the title ''Firefox Add-ons'' is specifically for searching for Firefox addons, as you may have guessed from its name. It is available from the addons pages.
It will take you to pages such as https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox or parts of that site. The page https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?atype=4 is actually many pages with over 3000 items offered.
If with the Firefox dd-ons search engine selected in the search bar you type in IMDb that will give you something like this

*1 including https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/imdb-search-1/?src=search
*# that opens to a page with a download button, labelled [Add to Firefox] once clicked that should download the search engine, and give you an option to install it. Other searches for addons work in a similar way.
That specific option may not be a good choice the add on did not actually work for me.

IMPORTANT once you have use the search remember you may wish to reset it to whatever you use in day today browsing. That may be Google. Note the location bar, and other Firefox searches all use whatever is currently selected in the Search bar.

I was having the same problem. I found that shutting down all other programs helps. It dosen't lock up on me when everything else is off.
