My keyboard has stopped working - please help!

Hello.
For some reason, the keyboard on my Satellite 1000 series notebook has stopped working (I think someone may have spilled some liquid on it...). Device manager shows 'easy internet keyboard' and 'logitech HID-compliant keyboard' (one of which relates to a USB keyboard i have been forced to buy).
Any chance anyone knows what's happening and how I can get my keyboard working again? Maybe something to do with reinstalling drivers??

If someone has spilled some liquid there must be hardware malfunction and I assume that keyboard is defect now. Try to contact service partner and pick up some information how much the new keyboard costs. You can also a Google a little bit around and find which keyboard fit to your notebook model.
In my opinion you can exchange it alone.

    my imac keyboard has stopped working??? help!!!!!

    My keyboard just stopped working out of the clear. One minuet OK next it was dead. No little green light at all. New batteries did not help.
    FIXED THE PROBLEM!  I took a small piece of aluminum, made a little ball out of it and dropped it down the tube where the batteries go. Replaced the batteries I had just used......little green light comes on and the the keyboard functions like always.
    My guess is after a few years the contacts oxidize a bit and don't make contact with the batteries on the bottom of the tube. Give it a try.

  • Itunes has stopped working - Please help - Can't SYNC !!

    I have windows 7.
    I have the latest Itunes.
    My Itunes works fine.
    When I plug in my iphone 4 I tunes works fine.

  • My Refine Edge in Photoshop CS6 has STOPPED WORKING, please help!

    I have been using refine edge with no problem for months.
    everything worked great!
    I was able to extract out hair and edges very, very, very well...
    but about 2 weeks ago...something changed... the refine edge brush no longer works.
    When I click on Refine Edge... instead of a brush icon, I get the CIRCLE with a SLASH and my system keeps dinging because the tool is just not available.
    I deleted my preferences...but it is still a problem
    NOW... when I adjust the sliders, i don't see a preview of the adjustments...
    Please help!!!!

    if i adjust the sliders, i get NO Preview... but when i click OK, the resulting photo has been completely ruined by the tool...
    I tried deleting preferences...no change
    the weird thing is that this problem was very sudden.  Just a few weeks ago, I was using refine edge with NO PROBLEM. it is my GO TO tool for extracting people out of pictures...
    but then one day, it just stopped working...
    Do i need to reinstall CS6???

  • Printing subsystem has stopped working - please help

    I have had my imac for 4 months and now priniting has stopped.
    I have a canon 4300 for prints and an HP office 6200 for B&W everyday stuff. The canon is directly attached via usb and the 6200 is attached to my new AEBS. i can configure my canon just fine using print and fax utility however it finds the HP via bonjour automatically but when i push ADD it gives an "error trying to add the selected printer" and the error says "successful-ok-conflicting-attributes."?
    I also seems to find the same 6200 printer as a shared printer and will config and add it ok but somehow i dont think thats correct.
    When i try to print to the canon i get an error from any application - some say not enough memory - I have 2GB. Same thing happens when i try and print to the HP. THe strange thing is that I can use the maintenance utiliies to get to the canon and it runs them so the connection is ok something with the print subsystem.

    Plot thickens, I can print to these printers just fine from my wireless attached macbook pro! Interesting it sees the HP as Bonjour and the Canon as direct attached - it does see the extra HP "shared". This seems to be isolating it to the imac and not the printers or connections. Please help this is tough,

  • My Touchpad Has Stopped Working, Please Help

    My touchpad has locked itself. I can't click even with the buttons that are below the touchpad, it doesn't scroll or move, it won't do anything whatsoever. It has done this before, but usually it just works itself out on its own after a few minutes of leaving it alone. But not this time, this time it's been like this for a few days already. I tried to do the F2/F9/F10 solution that was talked about in one of the topics I read, but...pressing F2 doesn't do anything on the splash screen for me, let alone be able to do the other stuff that was mentioned. System Restore also hasn't done anything.     I have turned off auto update, I'm not sure where to go to uninstall an update though, I can turn it off but not uninstall, lol. But the last update was a couple of weeks ago and my mouse has been fine up until like three days ago, so I don't think an update caused it. I uninstalled the driver and let it automatically reinstall twice now, but nothing. Just in case it's helpful, here's the driver info too. Driver Name: Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPadVersion: 17.0.10.51

  • Quicktime has stopped working - please help

    I've been using the quicktime that comes with the machine (haven't purchased the upgrade). A little while ago I downloaded a few add ons for quicktime from apple's quicktime components page (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resources/components.html) because I thought they would help me play some obscure file types (they didn't).
    In any event, I don't know if it's related, be since then I'm getting a lot of blank screens on websites with just the Q symbol and a question mark. For instance, I can't play anything on youtube. Where the video should be is just that Q symbol and the question mark. I seem to have no problem playing things like the mac vs pc commercials on apple.com.
    I'm willing to put my quicktime back to the way it was if that would fix this, but I don't know how to do that.

    YouTube videos are nearly all Flash media and to view them you must install Flash Player (free) and its browser plug-in.
    You may also need to "turn off" the QuickTime browser plug-in from trying to play Flash media.
    Sys Prefs/QuickTime/Advanced/MIME Settings button
    Remove the check mark (Miscellaneous) for Flash Media.
    Quit and relaunch any open browser and try the pages again.

    I bought my Satellite P50-A-12Z over a year ago, and since few weeks the backlit keyboard has stopped working.
    I used to hold FN+W to turn on/off the light keyboard, but now it doesn't work anymore and I have the message "chronometer" on the top right of the screen as you can see on this screenshot:

    I don't know if this will help but try please following: perform complete shutdown - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm
    Start notebook again and press F12. There you should find option to enter BIOS settings. Enter BIOS settings and try to enable keyboard backlight there.
    Please test it and send some feedback.

    When you are using other applications, or just on the home screen, does that area of the screen respond to touch?
    Steps to resolve issue (I understand you have done what you have but it's always good to try again):
    Clean the iPhone screen with the cleaning cloth that came in the box with the iPhone.
    Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
    If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
    The current application may not be responding (frozen), press and hold the Home button below the screen for a least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
    If that doesn't work, turn the iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the iPhone for few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    If that doesn't work, reset the iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement, if necessary, even if your iPhone is out of warranty. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see the iPhone Service FAQ.

    To test the touchscreen function at the top of the screen of an original iPhone without the iPhone 2.0 software, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. If the slider does slide, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears to turn iPhone on again.

  • My keyboard has stopped working. How do I fix it?

    Today I got back to work after my summer vacation and for some reason my keyboard has stopped working.
    I tried with my collegues keyboard but that didn't work either.
    The keyboard works if I give my virtual machine in Parallels direct access to it, but not in OSX so it's probably not a hardware issue. (This is how I am writing this)
    The caps-lock light works even when connected to osx. Mouse works perfectly in osx.
    I am running 10.6.8 on a Mac Pro 2x2.8ghz xeon 12gb RAM.
    Any ideas?

    I upgraded to Mountainlion and the problem not only persisted, but also worsened.
    Any button I pressed, it restarted.
    I have removed a couple of apps I had installed, for example Double Command which I think might have been the culprit, and now the computer works fine again.

    You could get a keyboard remapping program & map someother key to the volumn key.

    My apple bluetooth keyboard has stopped working. The top row of keys works and the iPad sees the bluetooth keyboard (the bluetooth icon is active) but the other keys do not work. For the past coupld of days I have carried my keyboard in my computerbag without turning it off and I am thinking I have done something to make the letter keys to stop working. Two days in a row I did turn on the music as I carried the computer bag into work so I know that some keys were being activated.

    *UPDATE*
    I have been able to use the Zoom function to zoom in and the keys on the top row no longer are in the non-responsive strip of area.

    I have a less than 6 month old fully loaded iMac 3.4 ghz i7.  Overnight my USB (alphanumeric keyboard has stopped working.  Had to dig out a wireless keyboard from another mac to login.  The tried unplugging and moving the USB.  ( All USB ports works and are powered up with other devices )  No change.  Tried full system reset with power cord removed for 5 minutes,  no change.  Tried it all twice,  no cahnge.
    Typing this on wireless keyboard and hoping someone can confirm if Mac has pushed an update that forgets about the keyboard or if there is known issues with the usb wired keyboard that means they have suddenly got a life of less than 6 months?

    Not any updates I know of, but if there were Software Update would offer them. Have you tried and SMC and PRAM reset - sometimes sorts out odd issues?
