My keyboard is hanging (delay) every 8 words typed

all of a sudden it started today. when i type, every 8 words or so and the whole interface just hangs for 2 seconds then resumes. i did a hard restart of my iphone but the problem is still there. anybody else having this problem? it makes typing impossible. other than that this phone has been awesome!! iots so weird because this just started today and ive had my phone since friday.

This is happening to me as well. It is absolutely unbearable when it starts happening. If anyone knows what is causing it please let me know. It seems as if it is busy checking doing something with "Edge" in the background but I am not sure about that. Someone suggested it is only happening while the phone is loading webpages or something in the background (maybe same with e-mail). I would love to know how to fix this before I have to take the phone back. This is a deal breaker issue for me and I am one of those with Apple products all over the house. And yes, it just started doing this out of nowhere, everything was fine for the first couple weeks.

My keyboard keeps hiding in the middle of typing! HELP!

I have a Droid X and recently i can't type anything without my keyboard hiding after almost every other word, or the words aren't showing up as I type them. Sometimes it is taking me a full minute to just type 4 words! This happens when i am typing anything... texts, emails, status updates, etc. I have reset the phone numerous times, deleted stuff off the phone that I don't need, etc. I don't have any other problems and I have checked to see if maybe i was missing any updates, but I'm not. If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

IPhone 4S - iOS 5 - Something is wrong, phone is autocorrecting every single word... Can i reset the feature?? HELP!

iPhone 4S - Is anyone else experiencing strange behavior by the autocorrect? it's trying to autocorrect every single word... for instance "is" corrected to "OS". ***? it's happening on every single word!! Can i reset the feature?? HELP!
I have been an iPhone user since the first iPhone. In fact, i was first in line in 2007 at the Boston Apple Store at Chestnut Hill Mall.
I've never experienced such strange behavior by the autocorrect feature. Granted there is the occasional annoying autocorrect, but this is out of control. I can't even make it through a sentence without getting frustrated and wanting to throw the brand new iPhone 4S accross the room!
Someone please help!!!

OOPS!! This is a case of user error..
I turned on a couple keyboards looking for the Emoji keyboard last night... So my assumption is that the "keyboards > language selection" is linked to the dictionaries the system uses for autocorrect? Well, whatever the case, I turned everything off except English and Emoji and that seemed to correct the problem.
If anyone else is having a blond moment, like me, consider user error first. LOL

Keyboard character repeat delay

I have JDK 5 Update 4. Does anybody have an idea on how to access the keyboard character repeat delay and repeat rate?
I want to shorten the delay and possibly the repeat rate. Is there a way to get the keyboard and it's properties somehow?

lol I delt with the same issue while making a galaxian clone.
I wanted to completely get rid of the delay and make the repeat rate equal to as fast as java could execute it (meaning assume that it repeats every single time the paint() method gets executed).
for instance, if I want the ship to move left and keep moving left (meaning no delay and incredibly fast repeat rate), I did this:
inside my KeyListener I have boolean Left. inside keyPressed, I have a switch statement that, if the left key is pressed, sets Left to true. inside my paint() method, I check to see if myKeyListener.Left == true. if it does, I move my ship to the left. inside of keyReleased I have a switch that sets Left to false. therefore, there is no delay at all between the key being pressed and the ship moving, and so long as you hold the key down, the ship keeps moving over at a constant rate that has absolutely nothing to do with the repeat rate of the KeyListener. hacking into the OS is way unnecessary.
if you want there to be a significant delay (the way my firing of bullets does), then do this
//inside the constructor of your GUI, set long milliSec to System.currentTimeMillis().
if (MyKeyListener.SpaceBarIsPressed == true && System.currentTimeMillis() >= 500+milliSec)
//the code necessary to shoot a bullet
milliSec = System.currentTimeMillis()
}that will make it so the next bullet cannot be fired until its been at least 500 milliseconds since the last bullet was fired. giving you a constant repeat rate with no start delay.

When typing in Mail my keyboard input is delayed.

I have a Mac keyboard that is USB connected to my iMac. I have been having problems only when I am typing in Mail. My keystrokes are delayed when I'm typing and do not appear in the message for 3-5 seconds. This does not happen when I'm typing in other area, e.g. Facebook, Word, etc. I have increased the settings in the Keyboard area of Settings to no avail. Any suggestions out there??

ITunes will not open - hangs up every time

I am running os x 10.8.5, on a mac book pro 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo.
iTunes will NOT open and run. It starts up, then hangs, nonresponsive, every single time.
NOTE - I already reinstalled iTunes, to no avail.

Apple changed it because many of us were absolutely sick of the tray opening when we did nothing but graze that key by accident. Now there are no more accidental tray openings...it's great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay! woohooo!!!!!

Application hangs for every 20-30 mins

Hi All,
We have typical (just forms and reports) HTMLDB application which has been developed in version 1.6.0.00.87 and hosted on same version. But the users are facing a weird issue which is interim and occurs randomly. The system just hangs for every 20-30 min. Users have to close the browser and have to run the application again to work with. It may hang at any point of time, when user clicks on 'List pop-up' or 'date pop-up' or anything.
I am confused where to start the investigation for this issue. I appreciate any help on this.

Hi Hari,
It sounds like you need to do more diagnosing of the issue.
Tools that can help you in your analysis:
(1) do a trace of a slow session (see the Oracle docs for how to do this)
(2) set the apex debug on for a slow session then examine the output looking at the slow point
(3) if the first two don't help in the diagnosis of the issue try running the page through Firefox using the YSlow add-in

I have absolutely no experience with spell check in Photoshop. But when this happens in MS Word it's because the language got changed to something besides English. Check which language it thinks it should be basing the spell check on?
Edit: In the character set menu, on the lower left, it should say "English"

Did you ever get a solution to your problem? Because I am having the same problem. I was actually in the middle of using Word when the keyboard stopped working. But it works in other apps, including in Excel.
Thing is that my laptop just got back from Apple for repairs and they replaced everything but the display - including the hard drive.
So not only do I have plenty of hard drive space, but it should be virus and error free otherwise.
I have only installed a few programs and redownloaded some of my files from places like Dropbox, but otherwise is essentially a new system.
Oh - and it came with Yosemite, so I did not upgrade to Yosemite and still Word doesn't work.
I've always had trouble getting Word to play nice with my Mac but that was also with the old, full hard drive.
This is a fresh install. And since I lost all my files, I only had like 1 old file I have downloaded from email and accessed and was in the process of
creating a new file when it crashed. I got no error, the keyboard just stopped working (to type). I also cannot even get Word > Preferences to even open,
so it is completely unresponsive.
I did a Google search and under the Microsoft communities two suggestions to that person were that there may be multiple copies installed -
I have only the one - and that one is in the wrong place - again, I only have the one and it installed to the Hard drive (visible in Launchpad / Apps).
Another suggestion was that there was some problem with the updates. I ran updates and they installed fine. That helper suggested that the user
may have had different updates that worked for the other Office apps (Excel, PPT etc.) but not Word and that was at least part, if not all of his problem,
but all my Office apps show the same update version 12.3.6, so that cannot be the issue with me.
I've not yet tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but as I got no errors on the original install or updates, I'm not sure if that would fix it.
I've found that Mac just doesn't play nice with some programs at all.
And even though I have a factory installed version of Yosemite on a new, fresh hard drive, even when I booted up, my iPhoto app (which is empty) crashed. I am not sure if my iPhone or iPad was charging at the time, but I don't think so. iPhoto that I still have not even used has crashed several more times since, most notably when plugging in my iPhone / iPad to charge, namely when I declined to upload photos (by default) to DropBox. That may not be related at all, but thus far seems the only other problem I have encountered until this Word problem.
I'm on a MacBook Pro, Sept. 2009, running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 factory installed from Apple repairs running Office: 2008 for Mac (Home and Student edition).
Please advise if you found a resolution and what it was.

hi guys. i'm back.
i solved my problem. i refer my iphone 5 to a local distributor. a repairman checked my iphone and i described my problem. he checked my battery. it was fine! then after an hour excavation around hardware solution he told me that the charging kit crashed because of heavy mobility usage!
yes. i did not covered my phone with any cover. the cpu pressure by ios update crashed the kit! now my phone get back after the kit changed and work finally. i restored my phone to ios 8.2 now.
i'm going to buy new iphone. but i'm really confused if such this issue really happened for iphone 6 too!!!!!
i'm totally disappointed .
