jrod53, that is strange. Displays will always appear under the Hardware tier of the System Preferences. I've never seen it disappear, so I'm a little surprised. Do you have two monitors attached to your computer? It may be the Mac thinks there's two displays and it is send the window for iMovie out to secondary display which you don't have access to. Also is there one side of your display where the mouse will disappear off the edge of the screen, go into a black hole?

(I think the daughter got he better end of the deal!) I believe if you change the password and user id one of the devices it will stop that from occurring. But I'm not the one to tell you how to do it; someone like "Illaass" (Illaass seems to know how to correct / fix almost anything!) will know how if you don't. Just look for the "cat" icon.

How did you delete it? Please provide more details to see what options you have available. Did you use iTunes by deleting the directory and confirming putting it in the trash or did you drag the actual iTunes folder in the trash? If you dragged the folder the solution is easy, either right click on the folder and select Put Back or manually return the folder to the previous location.
Do you have a recent backup of the entire iTunes Music folder including the iTunes Library.itl file or just the iTunes Library.itl file?

Actually, iPad Air is the new iPad. But here's the solution to your problem:
Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard (turn off)

Hard drive died on iMac and getting replacement. I have all photos backed up on my iPad 3, which was synced directly to the dead iMac's iTunes. How can I move them back to my laptop and eventually to the repaired iMac?

I'd like to restore photos from my iPad3 to the iMac once I have a new drive. I had uploaded them directly from the iMac onto the IPad via iTunes. That iTunes was wiped out in the drive failure. In the meantime I wanted to move the photos to my MacBook Pro, but iTunes tells me they belong to another iTunes (mine also but was on the iMac) and syncing will erase the content on the iPad. Moved all photos (4000+) to an album in iPhoto on the iPad, but iPhoto on the MacBook doesn't see the album- It only see photos directly taken on the iPad. I seem to be caught in an owenership issue between my photos, my computers, and permissions due to the dirve failure.
Any ideas?

You will need to use a third party utility to try to recover them as it is assumed that if you transferred them from your computer you alredy have the original files on the computer and a backup of the computer itself (do not rely upon your iPad as a backup). Furthermore, the photos transferred to your iPad have reduced quality so they are not as good as the originals.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. Sounds that you have opened the Bookmarks sidebar (View > Sidebars; Ctrl+B) and not use the Bookmarks Menu button that opens a drop-down list.
You can find a toolbar button in the toolbar palette that shows as a star with a drop marker when placed on a toolbar that opens the bookmarks in a drop-down list.<br />
The other toolbar button with a star opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.
