My keyboard says U.S. but types like U.K.

(mid-2011 iMac running up to date 10.8.3, Apple BT Keyboard.)
I recently Erased my machine through Disk Utility in the recovery partition and reinstalled OS X 10.8.3 through the recovery partition.
After installation and During set up I noticed that Shift 2 yielded this " instead of @.
I went through set up, ran software updates, changed the input source in system preferences back and forth from U.S. to other layouts just to make sure. Restarted the machine after all this as well.
I made the system forget the BT Keyboard, and then paired it with my iPhone which displays the normal U.S. layout just fine.
Now, even in Log in Screen, Recovery Partion, Test User, and my Admin account, I am stuck with this keyboard layout.
I have tried Erasing and Installing 2x now.
I have tried emptying my Library/Preferences folder.
I know that it is somehow a problem with the machine, and not the keyboard since it works just fine.
This is a mid-2011 iMac that has been consistently up to date on software since purchase. I have no peripherals connected aside from the Apple BT Keyboard and the Apple BT Trackpad.
I cannot imagine that this is a hardware issue, given the troubleshooting i have done. But what else could I possibly try that is software/system related?
All advice is much appreciated in advance.

Ok, so after trying everything under th sun I realized that my Recovery Partition was corrupt and that I needed to do Internet Recovery and wipe out the entire hard drive, not just my volume.
After doing internet recovery everything is working just fine.
It would have been nice to know if there was some sort of system file that was causing the error to happen system wide on the entire hard drive.

Place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes on your computer. Recovery mode bypasses the passcode (and erases the iPod). For recovery mode see:

I have an old iPod Touch with old software that can no longer be updated:
iOS version 6.1.6
I've been searching for a solution to my iMessage login problem for months and tried everything from those frustrating links and all the tips from other users.
Here is what finally worked:
1) Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
2) Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically > On
3) Reboot device until Apple logo appears
4) Settings > Messages > Sign In

I would like to detect all the keyboard key is okay, but not every key can be detected by using LabVIEW example, keyboard keycode

I would like to detect all the keyboard key is okay, but not every key can be detected by LabVIEW example ( we can use 『basic input demo.vi』to detect normal key』.
I want to detect some 『hot key』 for example some keys exist in the upper part like 『search key』、『e-mail key』、『volumn control key』...etc. They are very often to be watched in some new keyboards, but we still don't know how to detect if their functions are okay.
Can we detect signals of these 『hot key』 in LabVIEW? We can apply these hot key's functions in XP, so we should detect their signal, I think, but I can't do it.
I serach some information about this question, and somebody said we can detect hot key's signal by grabing 『keybode』 these hot key feedback. But I don't know how to do these. I can't use VC. So anyone can give me a LabVIEW VI to grab keycode? Or any other solution we can detect all the key on the keyboard, including hot keys?

Maybe that is the limitation of Acquire Input Data.vi.The vi can't identify the Unformal key.
You can try to use Event structure and set to listen "key down" event.
There are two terminals VKey, ScanCode will sent out the information when you press key.
There are two pictures in attached file, 2.jpg will show you the detail.

Try deleting Flash cookies.

If that doesn't help, UNinstall the old Flash plugin first, then reinstall new.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.

Simply try turning of your iphone, then restart. See what happens. IT WORKED!

It takes a while to get going. If you see no movement for about half an hour restart and it should begin the DL.
YOu should at least see a loading bar under your Launchpad icon.

HelloI have one more question i know i should be able to work this out but still learning. I have a method like this

Keyboard missing letters as i type

I bought my laptop about 6 weeks ago and this has been a problem since day 1.I tried to chat with online suppot but the chap did not help me. When I type, every now and then the cursor freezes and - whilst it has frozen - the subsequent letters i type do not appear. Then it will unfreeze and the letters will continue as i type.This happens randomly and sporadically. It doesn't matter if I am typing fast or slowly, it still happens. As a result - say I were to type the line 'I went for a walk in the rain. I saw a black dog. I waved and said hello....'
It might appear something like: 'I went for a walk in the rin. Iaw a black dog. Iwaved andsaid hllo....'
As ilook up at the screen i see that what i intended to type has not appeared. Very frustrating and it is becoming time consuming with work and emails as i have to constantly correct. It is also an issue whilst entering passwords. ********* etc. Just wondering if someone can suggest help / a fix for this issue??? Thanks in advance.

With the keyboard freezing, and missing letters that you type. I would suggest the following document 'Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 8)'. The part of the document that you will want to complete are Pressing keys does noting (keyboard is not working), and Key presses are slow to respond.

I am in the same household as the deceased person but does not seem to be recognizing the wireless setup. Any help would be appreciated. Any recommendations as to where to start.

That's really enough information. You can update this iPad to iOS 6.1.2. If there is a microphone icon next to the space bar on the keyboard, you have an iPad 3. But if you are saying that it hasn't been touched for over a year, it probably is not the iPad 3. The iPad 3 is one year old this week IIRC.
If you want, you can go to Settings >General>About>Model to find the model number and it you Google that, you can find out which version of the iPad it is.
I just wanted to see what iOS you would be able to update to. I'm not sure what else to tell you other than what we've already stated. You should set this up as new, update the iOS and then start all over again with you own iTunes content.
The link that Eric posted would be a good place to start so that you can get an idea of what the iPad can do. If you want to restore the iPad back to factory settings, you will need to do this with iTunes on your Mac. You must be running OS X 10.6.8 at minimum and must be using iTunes 10.6.3 (I think) in order to syn with iTunes on the Mac.

if you are that uncomfortable trying to do this on your own, and if there is an Apple Store near you, make an appointment at an Apple Store Genius Bar and ask an Apple tech to help you with it. That is what they do. There is no charge for an Apple Store Genius Bar visit. The stores also offer classes for the iPad that you might find useful as well.
