My keys keep disappearing??

In the past couple of weeks on my iPod 5th gen, my keys have randomly started going blank (the black disappears from the white background). It's not just my typing keyboard- in fact, my emojis will disappear first, followed by my keys, punctuation, and finally even the words that I am typing. I tried to ask this question through Safari on my iPod, but even though I could see my cursor moving as I pressed the keys, no letters showed up. It used to be happening just once a day, but now it happens twice, three times, or even four a day! I will reset it(holding down the power button in unison with the home button for 10 seconds), but I don't want to have to keep doing that over and over. I don't want to have to do a factory reset either, as I don't have everything on iCloud and would loose a bunch of data!
PLEASE HELP!!

Try the standard fixes:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Hard Drives Keeps Disappearing Windows 8.1

I just recently upgraded to Win 8.1. I have 3 hdds. Win is installed on Samsung SSD. The other hdds is for software and for games. The gaming hard drive keeps disappearing. I have to restart the computer to get it show again in My Computers. Also I notice
sometimes when I restart my boot order keeps changing. I have to go into the bios and change the load order back to my SSD to the 1st priority. Can someone help with this issue?

    Hi wjason777,
OS related issue please consult on MS Answers http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows
Hardware related issue please contact your provider.
For your issue, when you reboot you can press F2 or F12 to load your boot menu. However, please notice the key depends on your hardware. It migth also be F5. So you may have to contact your computer provider about this issue.
If you can open that Boot menu. Please try search for boot order. Then you will be able to change the order.
By the way, if SSD keeps disappear, I think it is poor contact. I will recommend you contact your provider for more details.

  • Time won't show in Menu; keeps disappearing

The upper right hand area of my MacBook Pro keeps disappearing and reappearing with the little wireless icons, bluetooth, etc. every few seconds. However, the time doesn't even appear when those items reappear. Also, most of my programs including Safari and System Preferences will no longer open, and when I shut the lid of the laptop and reopen it, it restarts and doesn't go back to the screen that was on it to begin with. All of this happened after Time Machine notified me that I had not backed up in 15 days and I chose to ignore it and restart my computer. Is there any way that I can restore my computer to the way it was a week ago or another way to fix this problem?

You can restore your computer to the way it was 1 week ago by doing the following: (note that this will set your computer EXACTLY as it was 1 week ago. any new files you made will be wiped. I would suggest manually copying any important, non-backed up files to the external drive manually, then manually restoring them):
    1. Print this page (there is no internet during this procedure).
    2. Insert your Leopard install dvd.
    3. Shut down.
    4. Start up, while holding "C" (to start from the DVD)
    5. Click Utilities>Restore From Time Machine Backup.
    6. Select the backup you want and click "Restore"
    7. Wait for it to finish (it will be a few hours-it needs to copy LOTS of data back).
    8. Restart, without holding any keys.
Your mac should now be back to how it was at the backup you selected.
    Good luck!

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Why does my cursor keep disappearing in the Google search bar?

When using FF or Google Chrome, I've noticed that my cursor keeps disappearing when using the Google search bar. I've tried using all the about:config tips, I've downgraded to earlier versions, I've pressed F7, I've unchecked the "hide cursor while typing" option in my mouse properties, I've checked for driver updates, I've tried disabling all add-ons and plug-ins, and I've checked another computer in our home as well. Same thing there. This seems to have become a problem in the last few days. IE seems unaffected by it. Just FF and Chrome.

No sir, there are no other tabs open, when it happens. For now, I've found a workaround, and I invite you to test it yourself.
I've been working on this problem all day. I've noticed that the cursor blinks very slowly in the Google search bar. If you press a key while the cursor is blinking "off", it will stay off until you let go of what key you're pressing. Conversely, if you press a key while the cursor is blinking "on", the cursor will remain visible as you type.
In IE, the cursor blinks much more rapidly, and blinks more "on" than "off." As a result the cursor remains on, no matter what you type or when, or what key you press, including the spacebar. This is not the case in FF or Chrome.
It was suggested in the Google forums that disabling "autocomplete" has helped with this problem. I followed the instructions and successfully disabled the "auto-complete" feature on Google. When I did that, I immediately noticed that the cursor blink speed doubled, like what I'm used to seeing. Further, no matter what I did, the cursor did NOT disappear anymore.
The link for google with autocomplete disabled is http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
Go there and see if you notice a difference in the blink speed of the cursor. On my computer, the difference is drastic. While I do enjoy "auto-complete" and will miss this feature, I generally don't rely on it, and much prefer a consistent cursor.
I greatly look forward to your feedback on this. If you figure out a way to have Google work normally without this workaround, I will be forever in your debt.

  • Contact pictures keep disappearing

I have a Galaxy S4 (just got it about a month ago) and I have put pictures in my contacts several times and they keep disappearing.  Sometimes only a few disappear and sometimes most of them.  There is no consistency to when or how many disappear.  I am using pictures in my gallery on the phone.  Can anyone help?

Hmm, that's totally odd TerReuv. However, I understand the inconvenience this causes, and why it needs immediate action.
    -What's the the phone's software version? http://vz.to/1zAf4I5
    -When did this start?
    -Did you import the pictures?
Open Contacts, then Menu key>Contacts to Display, what do you see here?

  • Verity collection keep disappearing

i have CF MX7 and i do have a verity collection it keep
disappearing some time....i am wondering is this a bug or am i
    missing somthing.....please help..thanks..

I am having a similar problem but only with the UNI language
pack. It is indexing fine with the English or Englishx packs. It
also worked fine until we updated to the latest patches (7.0
    worked, 7.02 does not)
I'd posted the following in the 'getting started' section but
maybe it should be here instead.
I have two verify collections. The English collection is
working ok. The French collection using the 'uni' multilanguage
does not index using the Cold Fusion code, and if I try to index it
on the server directly, I wait and wait and eventually it will give
    me a page not found.
When I was at 7.0, this index worked fine. Now after
upgrading to 7.02, I cannot create the index.
I have tried deleting the collection and starting over but I
    get the same problem.
This is the code that had been working:
    <CFLOCK NAME="CFINDEXSEILOCK" TYPE="exclusive"
    TIMEOUT="90">
    <CFINDEX ACTION="refresh" COLLECTION="sei"
    KEY="E:\UTEWebsite\Francais\" TYPE="path" URLPATH="
    http://www.ute-sei.org/Francais/"
EXTENSIONS=".htm, .html, .cfm, .pdf, .doc" RECURSE="yes"
    language="uni">
    </CFLOCK>
    Any thoughts?

  • Calendar schedule keep disappearing

    HI all,
After IOS 8, the calendar schedule keep disappearing. Whether those I keyed in myself or those being invited by others. Is this IOS 8 issue or the iPhone 6?
    I'm using iPhone 6+ 128 GB.
    Thanks

Hi, Things have started to go horribly wrong. I have performed a manual sync from my macbook pro to .mac and for a few minutes this restored the calendar on .mac. I added an entry to .mac and a few mins later the calendar was pushed to my iPhone. On returning to my .mac account, the calendar has now been deleted although the data is still on my iPhone and macbook pro. As it's getting late here in the UK, I am switching it all off in the hope that something positive will happen overnight and my faith in technology can be restored - otherwise, it's back to the paper diary!
If you have any other ideas as to what to do, it would be much appreciated..
    Thanks

  • My icons keep disappearing and then reappearing

I'm new to macs and this problem is confusing me, all of a sudden last night my desktop icons keep disappearing and then they reappear in the same place, but if i have a window open like Macintosh HD it closes it. When this happens it also switches from what im working on, like this message so I have to click back on it to continue.
This is happening alot and I was hoping someone could give me some info. or do I have to reinstall.....
Im used to having to do these things on PC's but not on macs.
    Cheers

    Tony,
You have to reset the parameter ram.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
Macintosh: How to Reset PRAM and NVRAM
This document explains how to reset the parameter random access memory (PRAM) and nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM) on Macintosh computers.
    Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.
Your computer's PRAM and the NVRAM are reset to the default values. The clock settings may be reset to a default date on some models

  • HELP! My footage keeps disappeared, and I am not deleting it!

Yesterday I was editing a 60+ min TV show and somehow, while zoomed in to a certain part of the timeline, the rest of my footage disappeared. I did not notice, because I was not fully expanded to view my entire timeline. All of the footage following the clips I was working with, disappeared. It has done this 2 more times. Footage keeps disappearing!
I was wondering if there is possibly some key I am accidentally pressing, that is making Final Cut do this? Or if it is some sort of bug, and if so, why it is suddenly acting up? I keep all of the episode in one project, on multiple sequences, and have never had this problem before.
Everything will be fine. I'll zoom in, re-edit a couple of clips, and zoom out to find more than half my footage just gone.
    Someone help!

    Tom,
Do you mean my clips or *the* timeline? Yes, the timeline is "gray" as usual. Clips are normal. I'll attach a screen shot anyway, though I don't think it will help much. Everything looks normal, aside from the fact that a lot of footage is missing, which you won't be abe to tell.

  • Mail4Exch Home screen keeps disappearing ( 34.001)

Since going to 34.001 (yesterday) on a new E52 the Mail for Exchange Home screen on the Standby screen keeps disappearing as I navigate towards the message summary.
The  Mail global settings > home screen settings are correct.
To get it back I have to power cycle the phone or go in to the Mail global settings > home screen and change and re change the settings.

I,ve had this problem and the only thing you can do is long press the menu key, elect home screen and it will come back ! Very annoying, but tends to be intermittant, may go a few weeks without a problem, then occur for several days, if you get a solution please post !!

  • Satellite C50-A133 - language bar hot keys keep being reset automatically

    Hi!
I have a Toshiba Satellite C50-A133 notebook with Windows 8.1 64 bit (system language English UK) from the UK. So far I have not had major problems with Windows 8.1 but one annoying problem keeps coming up.
There are currently 12 languages/input methods installed, some of which I have assigned keyboard shortcuts, either Ctrl + number or Ctrl + Shift + number.
After the system starts up they work fine, but after a while become disabled without me being aware of having done anything to disable them. The only thing I can do is open the Language Preferences menu and assign the shortcuts again.
They have disappeared in the language bar hot keys menu, specifically each shortcut I have set has changed to "None". This happens after a while no matter what I use the computer for.
Restarting the system always resets the shortcuts to my settings but working with the computer for a while disables them. I use Avast, Malwarebytes, Auslogics BoostSpeed and Windows Defender regularly, as well as CCleaner at startup. I don't think it's any of these causing the problem, as it occurs when none of them are scanning as well. Using the Windows key + tab bar to change input language works fine by the way.
All the languages are displayed and can be activated this way. It is just the hotkeys that keep disappearing. It is not a huge problem but can be inconvenient when needing to switch between 2 or 3 languages quickly without having to cycle through all 12 of them. Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to fix it?
I have already explained this issue to Microsoft.
They had no solution that worked and suggested it was a hardware problem and that I should contact Toshiba instead.
    Thanks!

To be honest Im not sure if I understand your problem correctly but as far as I know by first start after notebook purchase you can define keyboard input language and thats it. Of course you can change it additionally and add some other input languages.
For me it sounds crazy that 12 languages are offered as installed services. Who has done this?
Can you please tell us how all this started? I mean I presume you use UK layout only and English as input language. The issue with 12 languages sounds completely crazy for me. Have you tried to change anything? Have you tried to remove all other languages?
Hardware problem? I don't know what Microsoft think about this but there is a easy way to check this. Reinstall original recovery image and check how it works with factory settings.

  • Memory on my macbook air keeps disappearing.  I have 120 gigs and I am down to 150mb without adding any files.

Memory on my macbook air keeps disappearing.  I have 120 gigs and I am down to 150mb without adding any files.

Thanks...I have tried the various options and the only item of interest is that my only account on this computer says it has 102 gig of memory used up.  However, when I open and look at the individual files, they add up to less than 15 gigs.

  • Final cut wont open and keeps disappearing while loading

Since friday, I am trying to open final cut and wont let me, it disappears as soon as it starts loading. I restarted the mac so many times and I have reinstalled final cut and nothing. keeps disappearing.
    any thoughts?

Before the long winded uninstall / reinstall hoopla, did you just try trashing your preferences? Might be all you need. You can do it manually of course but the free Preference Manager tool from Digital Rebellion handles it easily plus allows you to create preference set backups and more : http://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm
