My kids' ipad apps appear on my phone even though we have different Apple ID's

I've set up my kids' ipads with their own IDs to ensure that my texts don't apper on their devices (that can be awkward). So I figured that all three devices would be independent. But still, if they download an app, it still appears on my phone. Since I seemed to have solved the confidentiality of texts issue,I'm just curious but; what gives? Why would they still be linked? Is it because I sync them all on the same Mac? Or use the the same cc# to pay for content? Or maybe because use the same alternate email for recovery purposes? It's strange. Just wondering.

Do they appear when they download the app or just when you connect the phone to your Mac ? If when you connect it then the next you do so select the iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your Mac's iTunes (if you are on iTunes 11 on your Mac then you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S), and on the right-hand side on the Apps tab make sure that the 'automatically sync new apps' tickbox below the listobox of apps is unticked

We do not share an apple ID and her phone is now logged in with her account and I have since backed it up on itunes under her account as well. I have turned off automatic downloads on her phone but they still keep downloading. I delete one app and then another one just appears on the phone.

Husband and I have just bought a new Mac to share, but we've both got iphones and itunes of our own. I thought the best way to deal with this would be to have a user account each on the new Mac with our own iTunes, but this obviously means that each user account has a different apple ID associated with it. I've just bought Pages, Numbers and Keynote on my user account, is it going to be possible to share these apps with my husbands user account.
I've got a harrible feeling that I should have created a joint user account and apple ID, and I've just wasted the best part of £40...please tell me theres a way to fix this!!

You can, but you will have to update the applications from the user account with the Apple ID you used to purchase those apps. There isn't any other problem, but it may be illegal (but I think it's legal if you run them on the same Mac)

Try to backup then restore your phone and download your apps back from the backup it should work. Hope that will help you.

Lightroom for iPad app keeps saying Checking Collections even though I had sync'd photos

I download the LR app for my iPad and sync'd a bunch of photos. Then my Trial period expired and so I paid the fee. But now, when I go into the App, it just states "Checking Collections..." and nothing happens. Can anyone assist me here?

TThe same thing happened to me a few days after installing the app. It seems that once the connection is broken, the Mobile collections simply disappear. I also had this happen when I booted my desktop and tried syncing the second time (oddly, not the first). LR told me it was trying to sync a different catalog. Thinking it was referring to the Mobile catalog (collection?) I clicked ok. My collections once again disappeared.
Seems the Mobile collections are "fragile"? Until Adobe gets the direction all the mobile apps are moving in totally figured out, I'd suggest making LR originated copies back into your ios camera roll. At least then rebuilding won't be so frustrating. Really hoping they link LRM and PS Touch in Creative Cloud. That seems like A very logical next step and would make workflow intuitive and very useful on the run.

TS1398 My iPad won't backup to iCloud even though I have plugged into power, locked it and other devices all are OK on our wi fi. I can't get rid of the box that tells me to backup the iPad to iCloud to access anything else in the iPad. Help?

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

If it only happens upstairs then it would suggest that you have a weak wireless signal or there is some thing causing interference such as another wireless network.
You could try selecting another wireless channel on the Homehub to see if that helps.
There are apps on the apple store that you can download to show the wireless networks and channels or if you have a windows laptop you can download and run inSSider which will show you the wireless networks in your area and what channel they are on. Select the least congested and strongest channel and change your Homehub to it.

How can I sync a (one) song from my computer to my iPad without syncing the entire library even though i have my iPad set to manually manage music?

Whenever I try to move just one song from my iTunes library to my iPad, it will start syncing like 300 other songs randomly so I cancel everything. I have my iPad set to manually manage music but it still does that. And what's worse, I never get that one song I chose in the first place. The same thing with photos. I'll sync a photo and it starts syncing music as well. But at least I get the photo just fine.

Easy solution when on itunes simply go to the music tab and press on music library then browse what file which contains the music you want to be added same with photos

Have noticed when it happens, I get nofications from facebook of comments and or posts.. Yes, I went to settings and turned wifi off. Thought at first I wasnt letting it set for a sec or two before shutting the iPad off. so now I wait like a minute or two before shutting the iPad down. didnt seem to help. If both accounts are authorised on the computer's iTunes that you sync them to, and the relevant apps are on that computer, then you should be able to sync them to both devices. The apps will be tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded them, so only that account will be able to download updates to them.

Close the videos app and launch it again.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
if they still don't show up after you launch the app again, try resetting the iPad.

When you try to update the app, is the Apple ID that comes up the same as the Apple ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store?

Try this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
