My lap hangs when trying to connect wifi network

when I power on the lap, there is no issue with wifi connectivity,but with in 30 to 40 min wifi gets disconnected showing limited signal . We have created two networks on same wifi in our room. When I try to connect to other network lap hangs.also when I  power off wifi in lap during this situation ,I am unable turn on wifi again(wifi option blank,unable to select).Even task manager is not getting opened. I should power off lap by holding power button and again power on the lap. When it is on the same thing happens

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15-p077tx Notebook and issues with Wireless. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection. It has some helpful information inside of the document that has helped other. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system it has built in Wireless troubleshooting assistance. If this continues I would change the Channel on the router. Routers are capable of communicating to your Notebook on several different channels. If your neighbours Wifis  on the same channel, your network speeds might have issues. I have searched Microsoft for a fix for this and they indicate on the forums that if you change the router channel to a different channel, this might resolve the connection issue. You could turn off IPv6 for the notebook. Some say this helps. Fix this problem Microsoft Fix it 50413.  Here is a link to help as well. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

    My iPad can see my network but just hangs when trying to connect? I've  reset the settings and all sorts? My iPhone can connect fine? Any advise would be great!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Finder crashes when trying to connect to network share

    Hi!
    I've just upgraded my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro to Mavericks, and found that Finder always crashes when trying to connect to my office network share via an IPSec VPN connection. It's a Synology DiskStation NAS, so i have the options to connect via AFP or SMB, however both result in the same, the crashing of finder. Even after i relaunch it, i can't open finder, and can't even shut down or restart my system (only by holding the power button for 5 secs...)
    At first i thought it's the result of the latest Little Snitch version, but the problem remained after completely removing Little Snitch.
    Unfortunalely i won't be able to try connecting to the NAS on the local network until monday, but i'd really appreciate if someone could point me to the direction of some solution as this way i can't do any of my work.

    Just a quick heads up. I finally managed to resolve the issue. It seems that mavericks doesn't handle the MTU of the vpn connection correctly, so i ended up modifying the MTU on the VPN gateway.

  • SSL and RMI: Client hangs when trying to connect

    Hi all,
    Sorry for the cross-posting (I first posted to the RMI forum) but I thought someone here might be able to shed some light. The original message follows.
    I have a very simple client/server model implemented using RMI. Previously I used the default socket factories for creating sockets/connections and everything worked fine, but now I want to use SSL to encrypt all the traffic and I'm running into some trouble. The client is able to get the correct remote registry on the correct port, but when it tries to do registry.lookup("ServerName") to get a reference to the server object, it hangs indefinitely.
    Briefly, here are the changes from default RMI:
    As the docs suggested, I created a pair of custom socket factory classes (one for the client and one for the server) that create SSL sockets, and I put the following line in my server's constructor:
    super(0, new CustomClientSocketFactory(), new CustomServerSocketFactory());
    [my server extends UnicastRemoteObject].
    The custom factories are quite simple; the client consists of:
    public class CustomClientSocketFactory implements RMIClientSocketFactory, Serializable {
    public Socket createSocket(final String iHost, final int iPort) throws IOException {
    return SSLSocketFactory.getDefault().createSocket(iHost, iPort);
    and the server:
    public class CustomServerSocketFactory implements RMIServerSocketFactory {
    public ServerSocket createServerSocket(final int iPort) throws IOException {
    return SSLServerSocketFactory.getDefault().createServerSocket(iPort);
    Everything else is the same as before. I start the server on the remote machine, which starts its own registry on a certain port; then I start the client on the local machine. The client gets the registry and then ... nothing happens.
    I know this is somewhat vague, but the changes are small from the working code so I must be doing something wrong in creating SSL sockets. Is there something I can do to trace the process or figure out what's causing the hang? Am I missing some required authentication or other code in the server socket factory (my understanding from the docs is that authentication is optional)? Any other ideas about what's going on?
    Thanks,
    - Matt

    Matt, did you ever determine anything about your Strange Behavior #2. I'm running int the exact same issue. We've been using JSSE without problem for more than 2 years now. I'm currently trying to connect to a new SSL server and the connections setup is taking about 4 minutes (not the SecureRandom seeding) (see my comment in the trace: "this is where it sits for about 3 minutes")

  • Error -14910 when trying to connect to network server

    A user has a brand new (2 weeks old) Mac Pro 3.00GHZ quad running 8GB RAM that has started acting very strangelly this morning. I will break it down as it happened...
    - When logging on, it brought up the connect to server dialogue BEFORE the log on screen. It would not allow us to cancel the screen for ages, but eventually the third restart cleared that.
    - As soon as we logged on, it connected automatically to the server (without prompting for any password). From within apps, it was as if the server was not there, but a second connect would make the folders available. When trying to disconnect the first instance of the server, it prompted for an admin password and then said it was unable to disconnect.
    - Ran a permission repair, which cleared that issue but presented me with a far worse issue...The user can no longer connect to the server with his username; Error -14910
    - I then tried a whole bunch of other usernames to connect to the server but all failed. EVENTUALLY I was able to connect using the server's admin account, but obviously this is not ideal for my user.
    Other info: OS 10.4.7 on Mac Pro and Server
    Server is an XServe
    I can supply any more information needed, This is urgent, so any help at all gratefully recieved

    Time error. Sorted

  • Wireless Printer keep freezing when trying to connect to network

    I have a HP Officejet Pro L7780 All In One and it keeps freezing whenever I try to connect it to the network via Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but it asks for me to connect my network through Wireless Setup Wizard which I can't do. Please help me. This is urgent. Can you please try and use layman (simple) terms when replying as my knowledge on printers and laptops are not that great.

    Hi @Zo_e178 , and welcome to the HP Forums!
    I see you are experiencing connectivity issues.  I would like to help!
    I would recommend performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
    I would then recommend this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
    Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

    When trying to access a WIFI network Firefox will crash immediately. If I use Safari, it will ask me if I want to continue to site 1.1.1.1, but suggests that it has an unknown certificate. • Iphone 4s wifi disconnects randomly and setting page freezes when trying to enter wifi networks

    After the Ios 7.0.3 update, this started happening. I'm using wifi then suddenly it disconnects from it, and when I go to scan for wifi, the setting page freezes upon touching the wifi network and it crashes. and when It doesn't lfreeze, I can't see any wifi network although the router is within 5 feet from my location. after some time the wifi comes back again for 10 minutes and then it does the same thing.

    Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, then try joining again and you should get the password prompt.

  • No dhcp information when trying to connect wifi

    My problem is that I can't get a signal to access my home wifi. We have 2 other ipods (same as mine) and they work fine. The network shows up when I go into settings and 'choose a network' but there is no info whatsoever on the DHCP page. I've tried resetting network, switching wifi off and on. The only thing not tried is a full reset. I can connect to other hot spots just not the one at home.

    Problem solved - i was trying to put password into 'other network' instead of the one I was already logged into. Thanks for your help anyway lllaass.

    It doesn't crash when I run wpa_supplicant in the terminal, though, just throws an error. I am using an rt2860 wireless chipset, so I just had to downgrade to the staging drivers, as the new mainline drivers don't work for this chipset. I have no idea if that could cause this problem or not. It connects to wired ethernet just fine, though; I don't have access to an unsecured wireless network to see if it would connect properly without going through WPA.

    I have an rt2860 in my EeePC and am on the current kernel (3.1.7-1) and have no issues with either using the rt2800pci driver (and wlan0 as the interface) or wicd and WPA2...
    If you are running a stock kernel, I would try using the correct driver for the card and see where that takes you.

    I am having a problem connecting to our oracle 9.0.1 management server running on Redhat 7.1. It appears to hang after I enter the defualt username, password (sysman/oem_temp) and host. I can ping the server from the client and I can also ping the client from the server.
    I do not have a problem connecting to the repository via sqlplus from the client. I know the oms is working, I can connect to the oms on the linux machine by starting (oemapp dbastudio.) Has anyone encoutered this? Any suggestions?

    I can ping the client and the server using the hostname or the ip without any problems. I verified the server is in the DNS through a nslookup also.
    I also added the client's hostname and ip into the linux server's /etc/hosts file. The client utilizes DHCP.

  • Error 8013013d - When trying to connect to Network

    Can anybody tell me what this error means it is sometimes accompanied by a message "cannot find IP address.

    Re: Error 8013013d
      08-08-2008 05:47 PM I started to get the 8013013D error message when I changed the wireless encryption on my router from WEP to WPA-PSK.  I would run through all the settings, input the SSID and the encryption password and then accept the PS3 defaults for the other settings.  At the end I did Test Connection and the error came up.  I knew the settings I was entering was correct, because I used them on my laptop to connect wirelessly.  I tried a few more times, incase I had input the password incorrectly etc but always got the same error. I ran through it again, but this time I didn't select Test connection, instead I did the Turn Off the System by holding down the PS button.  When I turned it back on again and checked the Network Settings | Settings and Connection Status List, all the information was there, including the IP address and DNS information. So for me, it seems the Test Connection caused the problem for me.  Maybe it will help others. Cheers RDJFC   Holy crap it worked!!!!!! thanks! I'm not much of a gamer nor a tech head so you really helped me out. thanks again

    Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    We still couldn't get it to stop timing out. I tried to download the firmware from iClarified but iTunes said it didn't recognise the software.
