My laptop didn't load 10.8.1 software - it's not working at all, it's a 17" Macbook Pro

my macbook pro is no longer runing because of the recent upgrade from 10.7 up to 10.8. It looks like it got half way through and lock me out - there appears that it took my one drive-one folder and created two folders and then broke. I need some help.

You need some help for sure, however I think you need someone there in person to resolve it for you.
First data recovery of users files, then determine what Recovery got installed, 10.7 still or 10.8, then command r booting from that and seeing what the heck is going on in Disk Utility etc.
A total Macintosh HD wipe may be in order, or the entire drive if the GUID partition table is toast, which is a hard to do now with no boot disks.
Clearly this is better done by a local professional than trying to explain to a first timer how to go about it all, since it seems to appear extreme and complicated fixes are in order.
We don't have much success with full drve software repairs here, just small fixes mostly.

I have a Model - MacBook Pro Laptop and the screen recently turned the colour grey, giving me no visibility or access to the unit.
Has anyone had or seen this problem before? Can it be fixed? I had a repair guy from my local Mac Store take a look at it - he said I needed a whole new screen and top of the computer, but this didn't fix the problem. I took the unit home unrepaired, and a week later it was all of a sudden working fine.
What is happening with my Laptop? Once this happens (grey screen) does it mean that it's going to become a chronic problem?

It's kind of difficult to diagnosis your problem without a visual clue, because there is a (mostly) software based "gray screen" at boot issue.
But if you got the screen replaced, took it home and now it works, why the repair shop didn't get it working before it left the store is beyond me.
Unless the repair shop is a authorized apple reseller/repair, I wouldn't have taken it to them, and of you did, they should have fixed the issue right away.

That is more than quicktime and iTunes. Follow all the instruction in the link for removing and reinstalling the Apple software.

Basic troubleshooting steps outline in the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Try each of these in order until the problem is resolved. If you've been through all these steps and the trouble persists, you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation. Be sure to make an appointment first at the Genius Bar so you won't have a long wait.

We have a data flow which has 1st layer having write optimized dso and then we are loading data to Standard DSO.
We are using Delta DTP to load the data with the option "Get All New Data Request By Request", but it is not working.
Suppose if i have 2 requests which are need to update to Standard Dso from Write Optimized Dso, it is updating in single request. We are on SAP BW 701 patch level is 005.

For reasons of downward compatibility, the system behaves differently for DTPs that were created before "SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Package Stack 13"
DTPs for which the indicator is set only get the first new request, even if there is more than one new source request at the time of processing. This restricts the way in which these DTPs can be used in process chains, because requests accumulate in the source and the target may not contain the current data. The Retrieve Until No More New Data indicator is therefore displayed for these DTPs.
I Suggest you to set this indicator and activate the DTP.
If you set the Retrieve Until No More New Data indicator and then activate the DTP, once it completes processing, a DTP request checks whether there are any further requests in the source. If the source contains more requests, a new DTP request is automatically generated and processed. Once the DTP is activated, the indicator is no longer visible in DTP maintenance.
This applies when the DTP is started by a process chain and also when you start the DTP directly from DTP maintenance.
The indicator is set by default for new DTPs that get data request by request.
If you do not select the indicator, the label for the Get All New Data Request By Request indicator changes to Get One Request Only. Once the DTP is activated, only this indicator is displayed in DTP maintenance.

HTML 5 output not working at all (just a loading gif)

Hi there I have had a problem with the HTML5 output,
Basically it doesn't work at all, all I get is a continuous loading giff that goes on for hours.
I have tried pretty much every combination of settings, including non-scalable HTML5 output, lower quality and preloader at 1%.
What is strange is that this is a new problem, everything was working fine on the first draft. All I have added since the is more images and a few more advanced actions.
I ran the HTML5 tracker and there was nothing there.....
Any help would be appreciated.

Basically you just need to take a backup copy of your project file and then hide large groups of slides before republishing and testing. If you hide first one half of the slides and then publish, and then the other half and publish, you should be able to see if this issue is being caused by something on the slides somewhere. If hiding slides does not resolve the issue at all, start deleting out any Advanced Actions to see if they may be gumming up the works. Eventually you should be able to get back to some situation where it doesn't stall like this. Then work back to find out what caused it.

So I need a laptop for college, which I will also use for personal use. I've decided to get a MacBook Pro without Retina display and am trying to decide the specs.

Here are the things I will do with this laptop:
-Writing essays for college (which will be a lot)
-PowerPoints
-Personal Writing (Stories and things like that)
-Internet Surfing and Research (which means multiple tabs at a time)
-Watching Videos and Streaming Anime (DVDs, Hulu, Crunchyroll, etc)
-Downloads (PDFs)
-I don't play games.
So, with all of this in mind, what kind of specs and OS would be best? I will admit to not knowing a lot about computers and what's needed to do what I want, or much about the technicalities. I do know that I will be using 8gb of RAM, though I am not sure about HDD vs. SSD. I've basically been living off my iPad for Internet and stuff for the past two years and writing my papers at campus, but now that I'm going to be taking more English and writing-based classes, I'm going to need a laptop.

There's only one non-Retina MacBook Pro being sold by Apple now - the 13" on the left of the Apple Store page for MBPs.
If I were you, I would look for a refurbished 2012 15" from Apple. You can add RAM and a SSD (should you choose) yourself.

You may try to follow the steps below:
1.Close the Creative Cloud application.
2.Navigate to the OOBE folder.
Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
3.Delete the opm.db file.
4.Launch Creative Cloud.

Latest apple software update on Mac --cant view Microsoft exchange connected email on macbook pro. Loads but not viewable. Works fine on iPhone

Updated the lastest apple software to my macbook pro and now I can no longer read my emails from my microsoft exchange email. The email arrives in my inbox and you can open it -- but when you try and read the content -- it says loading..... but never loads. It worked fine this weekend -- but after I udpate the last apple software update it stopped working. I can read the emails fine on my iphone (same email account) but not on my macbook pro.
I called Apple and they could not figure out a solution to the problem -- is anyone else having this trouble?
