You are not going to be able to recover the music from your iPod to you new laptop.
It doesn't work that way. It only move music from you iOS device to your computer.
You can download what you purchased from Apple. Anything else is lost.
Hence the reason we are always harping on backups.

Not sure what you mean by "procedure to replace." My 2006 MacBook Pro has broken. There is a little bit of drive noise when I turn it on, but then nothing happens. It is no big deal. Most of my files were backed up. There are a few files I would like to recover if possible, but nothing worth a major effort.
I have seen that broken MacBook Pro's go for about $300 on eBay for parts, so I would like to sell the MacBook Pro. However, I only want to do that after I am sure that my personal data is wiped out. Does anyone know how I can accomplish that? Does anyone know of an easy way to search the old hard drive for some of the data that I lost? Can a Genius Bar take care of this stuff for me (and how much do they charge?)?

The ONLY real secure way to be sure that noone may recover data from your drive is, to remove the drive, and drill one or two 1" holes thru the disk.
A bit less secure but useful way is, to wipe out the data with a tool that's overwrite all sectors of the drive with randomized data in multiple runs.

Independent tests bring out, that even specialized recovery companies with forensic tools are unable to find useful data after such a run.

I have multiple iOS devices and a couple of Windows XP Professional PCs, but I want to get a Time Capsule to use just to backup the Windows PCs now.
In the future I want to get a Mac and get rid of the windows PCs and then I will use Time Machine. I just want to know if I can use the Time Capsule now for wired backups ??? I plan on using Norton Ghost and don't need Time Machine nor do I have a Mac to use it. Should I forget this idea ? I plan on buying a Mac in the future and use this drive in the regular Apple manner. Please help !The format of the disk is a Mac format. but that is irrelevant in a NAS device, as long as it offers SMB.. ie windows file network format.. you don't have to worry in the least how the files are stored on the drive.
But you cannot partition a TC.. it is as it is..
I have some iOS devices in addition including an AppleTV. Could this TC serve them as well as the Windows XP Pro PCs without having a Mac in my inventory ? (No time Machine.)
What are you expecting to serve to the iOS devices.. they are completely dumb.. they don't even know what the file system is without an APP.. and there is no Apple Format apps only SMB.. which is kind of interesting.
They are designed to work with iTunes.. but the TC is not an iTunes server strangely as lots of non-Apple products manage to make their NAS into ITunes servers. You can place the iTunes library on the TC but we don't recommend it due to the TC having no automated way to back itself up.. again unlike every other NAS out there. You can manually backup the TC via the USB.. it is slow and can only backup the whole disk.. even if you backed up the whole disk yesterday.. it has no ability to do incremental rsync or any other intelligent backup. -

Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -

Is the media already on the iPad? If not, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded if they are still available in iTunes. Non-iTunes purchases would need to be synced from iTunes on a computer. -
My old computer has broken and I had not backed up my Itunes. I now have the hard drive from my old computer (windows 7) but cannot transfer the music. How can I transfer the music from my old hard drive to the new laptop (windows 8)?
Copy the entire iTunes folder from \Users\<User>\Music on the old drive into your music folder on the new computer.

After installing Dreamweaver CC Trial it will not launch.
