My laptop is Not Hibernating

I have Toshiba Satellite C660-l5012 running on windows 7 ultimate 32bit
Its not hibernating after installing drivers of some device ( I cant figure out the device exactly )
it can go to sleep mode without any problem now,
but before reinstalling windows 7 it was unable to sleep or hibernate ..

As you know, Hibernation takes the current open applications and settings and saves it all to the hard drive prior to shutting down the computer. A number of things can prevent this from happening. One, other applications that will kick in about the same time like the Screen Saver or Sleep Mode. Hardware can also cause problems, like external hard drives and network devices. Also some software, like drivers, can be a problem too.
In your case, time to do more troubleshooting. I would disconnect everything that is external hardware except the power cord. Disable both the Screen Saver and the Sleep Mode. Check Device Manager and see if there is anything with a conflict or anything that did not come with the original out-of-the-factory build. Open up the Task Manager and see what Applications that you are running. Some application may not be closing properly which is causing the Hibernation mode not to run. For testing purposes, close all of the applications and see if you can get into Hibernation.

It's hard to say what the problem is. One recomendation would be to drop usage of the database connectivity toolkit as it adds a lot of complexity and limits your options for troubleshooting problems. There is an alternative here. Read the discussion and download the drivers...
Also, what kind of database are you connecting to?

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

Need Help HP DM3 (DM3-1130us) Laptop will not power on. No power at all except for light on a/c jack

Hello, I need some help.
I have a HP DM3-1130us Laptop that will not power on at all.
the only thing that happens when I plug it in is the power jack lights up.
When the power button is used absolutely nothing happens.
No power, no fans, no leds, no on/off cycles, no beebs, absolutely nothing
just the light by the power jack that says the cord is plugged in.
The laptop has Windows 7, 320gb hdd, 4gb ram.
I have tried new power adapter and still nothing.
I have taken the battery out and tried and nothing.
I've tried the option where you take the battery out and hold the power and nothing.
I have tried with different hard drive and no hard drive and nothing.
I have tried reseating the ram and tried new ram modules still nothing.
So I am kind of stumped on what to do, the laptop will just not turn on.
Its not under warranty anymore so cant send it off.
It has not been exposed to any elements(extreme heat or water).
and its never been dropped or anthing.
Im kind of wondering maybe the power button board its self is bad?
If feels fine, its not loose or anything but could it
have just stopped working? for those who are not familiar with this model.
the power button is on the side and is a kind of drag and release button.
Its also on the same board with the Wifi button and 2 Usb ports.
But Im wondering before I buy a new one if this is what it could be.
Or could the motherboard its self be bad?
But even if the motherboard is bad would it still power up
just not post?
Also does anyone know of any other way to try to power this laptop up
without using the slide button. I mean kind of like off a Dv6000 you can power the laptop on by using the Quicklaunch buttons on top but this laptop does not have those.
If anyone can provide any information I would appreciate it.

Hey Tyler,
Unfortunately it is difficult to troubleshoot this type of issue. The majority of the time when the computer wont power on with the same symptoms you described, the power supply board is faulty. Most of the time if the motherboard is bad it should at least turn on or so some signs of life. Like I said, this is most of the time. Sometimes it could do exactly what your experiencing. I would suspect the power supply board has failed since you are not receiving any sort of lights, sounds, etc.
You could check the motherboard for swollen capacitors or loose solder joints but sometimes you wont be able to find anything.

It worked with the previous Firefox version but now when I use the internet, it doesn't even acknowledge I have the scanner. When I run my finger over it, it opens the settings panel but does not allow use of the already saved information or allow new information to be entered. I need this corrected. Any suggestions?

Try this:
- When you receive the error message that is described in the "Symptoms" section, click Restart.
- Press F8 repeatedly as your computer begins to restart. This triggers the Windows Advanced Options menu.
- Use the arrows on your keyboard to select Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.
(Also, You can try Safe Mode and do a "System Restore" from there.)
***Last Resort, you will have to edit the registry and this may prevent your computer from booting***
- boot your system and tap away at F8
- Select Safe Mode
- After Windows loads into safe mode.
- Start >> Run >> “regedit” Press Enter.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Look for the GinaDLL Key
- Select and delete this key and this key ONLY. DO NOT delete the entire Winlogon folder of keys.
- Close Regedit with the RED "X"and reboot the machine

You can't connect directly to the external drive, but should be able to use iTunes Home Sharing via the laptop.

Unable to update apps since I have closed my Verizon e-mail account. The old ID address pops up and I can not do updates. I can not use the old password since the account is closed. I have a new ID and password on my laptop but not for my I phone.

Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off. It will not charge while the phone is on. Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything. To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

My laptop is not a phone. Don't treat it like one.

My laptop is not a mobile phone the last time I checked. Unless mobile phones started weighing 15 pounds and play Crysis 2 Maxed, Star Citizen Maxed, and any other game you can think of, maxed, with 18" screens.
So, don't treat it like a mobile phone with your crappy chat bubbles that liturally everyone who isn't on a mobile phone hates, even some people on phones hate it.
Why is it so hard for Microsoft to add options to the app? Seriously? Liturally every other chat program in the world has the ability to be skinned to the user's liking. What does MS do? They force you to use their choice only. Then people came up with MSN Plus when MSN used to exist and they kept trying to take that out cause like, god forbid users have some choices when using a messenger. God forbid we actually like the look of our messenger!
I've posted this elsewhere, but this used to be my messenger before you canceled skypekit.exe for no reason whatsoever other than to force people to use mobile ugly skype.
Now here is what I'm stuck with,
Isn't it wonderful? Look at all that space I totally saved in my tiny small sentences of messages. By having 4 inches of white on either side of my messages. Cause that's how real messengers look now days.
However I did notice you can expand the thing a bit, but the chat bubbles are still confusing and useless. you have tons of angry people posting that they want them gone and your responce, is to ignore them? I thought Microsoft was all about listening to the customer. Is that not really true? No one wants bland Windows 8 paint.exe type graphics. That's why I'm still on Windows 7, cause liturally there is zero advantage to downgrading to Windows 8 or 10. All you get is a loss in graphics and the world's ugliest apps. :/ Skype being an examle of this, being forced on people who still have a real operating system like me.
The world isn't full of tiny pitiful tablets that have a processor as powerful as a SNES. Stop treating us like all our computers suck and couldn't process a simple gradient or rounded corner or Windows Aero. If people don't want Aero, they will disable it. Don't automatically disable it for them and give them something you drew up in paint.exe. Seriously. Skype is the ugliest thing on my laptop now. :/

I cannot access itunes on my pc it works on my laptop but not on my desktop. It used to work and no longer does it just keeeps trying all the time but doesn't connect. I have tried apple suggestions but still not accessing store. Help?

I have been using this desktop for itunes for years. Never any problems. Recently I cannot access the store it keeps trying but does not load. I can access form my laptop but not from the desktop. I get automatic updates form microsoft so the system is up to date. It is very frustrating and means that I haven't and ups to date library on my desktop and I play my music on this whn I'm upstairs. Can anyone help me with this one?
