My laptop keep crashing
I bought my laptop a month ago, his model is e45t-A4100. Used for a short period. The laptop started to crash constantly, barely touching the excel or listen to music on youtube. I was angry, I thought it was windows 8.1. I tried to recover the mode of manufacture, but clicked on the wrong icon of Toshiba's own program, in which it said it would delete everything. I canceled the progress, but when I restarted the laptop it did not start took a boot error, then as I have no other original windows, picked up and installed a linux mint inclusive is what I'm using now. I think I deleted it, now I only have linux and continue locking the same. That bothers a lot. You can not work on it.
Now I do not know what to do, do not know how to recover if you have windows, do not know if this crash is hardware problem.

Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly preinstalled. .
If you failed to create recovery media, you can obtain it from Toshiba by scrolling down to Get Recovery Media here
For instructions, see the section Restoring from recovery media, which begins on p. 50 of the User's Guide.

My laptop keeps crashing. This seems to happen only when it's streaming from sites such as Netflix, YouTube or Spotify.
Also, it stopped being able to run iTunes, and can't download Yosemite.
I want to wipe it and reinstall everything - I've already done a full back up.
The problem is disc utility will no longer open, saying it 'quit unexpectedly':
I'm running Mac OS X10.6.8 and I've lost install CD.
I have no idea what to do, but need to get this sorted as quickly as possible as I need my laptop for work.Even if you could open Disk Utility you can't reformat a disk while you are booted from it. You will have to use the install CD. Ring the Apple Online Store at the number given at bottom left of this page and give them the serial number of your Mac. You should be able to get the Snow Leopard install disks for a nominal fee.

Laptop keeps crashing after BIOS update
Today, March 22nd 2015, I installed an automatic update from Toshiba for my Satellite laptop. Ever since the update my laptop keeps crashing seconds after booting, displaying the message: "system thread exception not handled (btfilter.sys)
Can anyone help me?MasterG is right. try to install original recovery image again and test functionality with factory settings.
If you use Win7 try to start machine in safe mode or try to use system restore option. Test a bit what happen when you do this.
unfortunately we don't know which notebook model do you have, which OS is installed and what kind of updates were offered for installation. -
I bought my laptop about 9 months ago and have had the same problem for this entire time; it keeps crashing! The error page is blue and says something like system error thread not handled. It will reboot and work fine for a couple of minutes and then crashes again. Sometimes it can go a couple of days without crashing but it ALWAYS crashes weekly. I bought it from CURRYS, and I've phoned KNOWHOW several times and they've told me to wipe it etc but it doesn't work and still keeps crashing. It got sent away for repair and has come back worse, it's now crashing 5/10 minutes after every reboot. I phoned KNOWHOW again today and they said to take it back into the store. Does anybody have any advice on what's wrong with the laptop? Or what todo? I feel as though I've wasted my money and I really wish I'd bought a different laptop. Any help is appreciated

Laptop Keeps Crashing Randomly
As of last week my laptop keeps randomly crashing. It happens when I play League or when I watch Netflix mostly. It randomly crashes. I have to unplug my charger to reboot my laptop. I do not receive any error messages or pop ups. I do not know what to do anymore. I've spoken to windows and everything seems up to date. I have scanned for viruses and nothing has come up. I have replaced the fan and the battery on this laptop once already.

Laptop keeps crashing because of driver?
I have had my laptop, a VAIO Windows 8 laptop, for more than half a year but occasionally it crashes with a ":(" error that says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I don't understand why it's doing this; any advice?Hi,
In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Prefered sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
drives'.
3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.
Regards,
Patrick

Please Help, Laptop Keep Crashing
My 17in Macbook Pro (Late 2011) has been crashing for the past few months. I took it to a certified Apple Retailer. They diagnosed the hard drive as the issue, I has it replaced with a new 250gb SSD. It worked great for about a week then started crashing again. Can someone help? I'lll also mention that I had the RAM upgraded about a year and a half ago, but this issue started a few months ago.
Here is the report I get when it crashes. It's a link to a google doc because I can't post the whole thing here...says "contains invalid characters"
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eUPQ6iAPX0EVcgr4UAEkOjpz6VWc716eTYuYcrp79Yw/ edit?usp=sharingI still would install the original RAM and see if there is a change.
Also run an Apple Hardware Test:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257
Note that an error free AHT is not definitive.
Ciao. -
Laptop keeps crashing when I plug/unplug charger
I plugged in my charger this morning when my battery was low, immediately my screen froze then went black and made a high-pitched noise. Had to take the battery out to shut it off as it was unresponsive. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
If you unplug it and then it turns off your battery may be bad.

Satellite P300 keeps crashing and giving me blue screens
Hello,
I got a Satellite P300, operating on Windows Vista home premium and its provided with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
My laptop keeps crashing and giving me blue screens and windows says its the cause ls my graphic driver and the eror message is Atikmdag.
I tried everything (i think), i re-installes windows but this i had to do with making a recovery cd with the current settings because in some kinda way my F8 function doesn't work so i couldn't restore my Windows from my hard drive.
I also got the latest Ati drivers, this doesn't help either, i also re-installed them and tried to run my laptop on the windows drivers, this doesn't help either.
I really don't know what to do, can some one help me please? Are you sure that you are running video drivers downloaded from a Toshiba site? Unfortunately the drivers may not be the root of the problem so it is important to eliminate them as the cause. AMD's recommended driver removal procedure is at [http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx] and if you follow that with an installation of Toshiba drivers then your laptop should be in an as supplied state
I'd recommend you look at this [How to troubleshoot Display driver stopped responding and has recovered, ATIKMDAG.sys type errors|http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-27116RadeonSeries-ATIKMDAGhasstoppedrespondingerrormessages.aspx] -

Try first to find by yourself what to look into and what you can try to get some infos about your upgrade issue.
Search wiki, the web and the forums for similar errors. See if a solution is already available.
And post again what you found. -

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pros - the bad NVIDIA GPU
If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.
Here's just a sample of a kernel panic log that points to the faulty NVIDIA card:

Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. They should be more than willing to install a new logic board at no cost. I have no idea why this faulty GPU is making the headline here on the MacBook Pro forum so often now - could it be because Mountain Lion is just bringing the issue to a head more readily? I don't know - I only know that we're seeing more and more of these kernel panics of late.
Good luck,

My iTunes keeps crashing every single time I open the software on any of my PCs and laptops. Once the Itunes match features starts it's ony a matter of a minute or two before the software crashes. I have tons of new songs that I want to sync to my ipod, ipad and iphones but can't get it accomplished. Any suggestions??
Hello annmu,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
