My laptop receives texts that my iPhone 5 does not

I don't know why suddenly I receive texts that do not show up at all on my iPhone. Also, I have been having a problem sending texts. I type the text and then hit the Send button. The text doesn't do out nor do I receive a Not Delivered message. Please help.

lol the person you talked to at Apple was not very bright.
Of course you can have sent items in your mail on the iPhone 4. I have mine there all the time.
Sounds like you might have issues with the software.
I recommend trying a reset, send email and see if that goes to the sent items directory
If not do a restore.

I believe the latest update of the Skype app requires a version of iOS that the iPhone 3G is not capable of running. The 3G maxes out at 4.2.1.

3GS receives text messages from IPhone 4, but not pix or video

My granddaughter has my wife's "old" 3GS, and is on our AT&T plan with all bells and whistles. We can send text messages to her, but when we try to send a photo or video, she does not receive them. Our phones show that the photo or video was "sent". No error message of any kind. How can we fix this problem?

It's not a feature of the iPhone. No one but Apple knows why they do things but in this case, I'm guessing it's not there because it offers no user benefits and will only use unnecessary resources. IMO, it's just a gimmick that gets old very quickly. If you really want to modify your smartphone, get an Android, not an iPhone.

It appears you have moved from an iPhone to an android phone. The problem you are having is because you did not deactivate your iMessage service before leaving.
If you still have your iPhone, you can re-activate it and then
turn on iMessage in the settings
uncheck your email and phone number
turn off iMessage
Settings>Messages
If you don't have your phone or don't want to go thru the hassle of reactivating it, you can simply call Apple at 800-694-7466 and ask them to turn off your iMessage.

LG Revolution not receiving text messages from iphone user

I am not receiving text messages from iphone user, sporatically. The messages are showing as reveived on Verizon website in usage detail, but not being received on my phone.

This issue needs fixed asap! I have a few suggestions that should help you get this resolved. If they are showing up in the usage details, that means they are hitting the Verizon network, but for some reason they are not showing up on the phone. I recommend clearing the cache from your messaging/text messaging programs. Go to settings> applications> manage apps> all> Messaging/Text Messaging> Force Stop/Clear Cache/Clear Data. Erase the old text threads that you have saved and retry.
If that doesn't work, please let us know the following:
1) Do they come in delayed or not at all?
2) Do you have any 3rd party messaging apps installed?
3) Do they have any problems receiving messages from you?
4) When they're sending messages, are they directly to you, or do you have this problem when the iPhone user sends to a group of people?

I can't receive text msgs from Iphone users-what gives?

Hi, I have had this issue for weeks. I have been trying to find a solution through t-mobile but so far I still can't receive text messages from Iphone users. It is across the board. I know about 5 people with Iphones and I can't get text messages from any of them. Does anyone know why? By the way, they all can receive my text msgs, no problem, but I can't receive theirs. Is it because I don't have internet service on my blackberry? But my friend who has an old Nokia phone with no internet capability receives texts from Iphone users, no problem?? Please help.

Sounds like you are on the right track. But dealing with carriers is, well, frustrating at best. And inconsistent. If you get a CSR that says they can do nothing. Hang up and call back...until you get someone who can really help.
And maybe try different paths into support -- for instance, on the BIS login page for VZW, there is a number listed there that is different than any other of their support numbers. I had a problem with BIS once, called there and they got it fixed within 5 minutes. My account rep and other CSR's had been telling me that there was nothing they could do. So persistence wins out.

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 after owning an iPhone 4s. All my contacts transferred but now I can't receive text messages from iPhone users to my android device. I read that I have to make sure that my Apple id is totally deleted. How do I do that?

Verizon wiping out old phones would have nothing to do with it. The phone is no longer associated with the number, so wiping the phone would have no effect. It is your Apple ID which is the problem. You have iMessage turned on for your Apple ID. iPhones which have your Apple ID associated with your contact will send texts to your Apple ID, not your phone #. If you have another Apple device which can use iMessage, you could turn off iMessage in that device, but as long as your friends have your Apple ID associated with your contact and you have turned on iMessage in an Apple device and never turned it off before switching from an Apple device to another platform, you will have this problem.
You can bet that Apple will not address the problem, as they don't see it as a problem if someone is using a phone other than an iPhone. Apple expects no one will ever switch away from an iPhone once one has been used. Therefore, no problem for them to address.
The problem lies with Apple wanting their users to go through yet another proprietary interface, iMessage, which the MAJORITY of all smartphone users do not have access.

Why doen't iphone receive texts from other iphones.

I have recently bought iphone 5C for the first time, I have had an ipad for a long time which I use for imessages through wifi.   I thought that when I am out and about away from wifi I would receive sms/text from other iphones like I had with my previous basic mobile, but this doesn't happen, although I can send texts to other iphones. Also when I return to a wifi area imessage that have been picked up by my ipad then don't appear on my iphone. When both the iphone and ipad are using wifi when an imesssage is received the message appears on both devices. Is this usual as I would like to receive texts from other iphones as it could be important.

Is iMessage turned on your phone?    It doesn't sound like it.
I would disable iMessage on BOTH your iPad and iPhone.   Enable it on iPhone first, then iPad 2nd.
Try again and let us know if it's working properly.
