  • My laptop speakers are not working properly so wanted to visit service centers of hp in london

from yesterday night my laptop HP pavilion g6 speakers are not working properly. out of many only one speaker is working so i want to visit authorized service centers so that i can fix the issue.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56001-56500/sp56460.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if this has had any effect on the audio issue.

  • My laptop speakers are not working but my headphones work fine

I have an HP Pavilion g6-1d73us laptop and although my headphones work properly the speakers do not. This is a recent problem.  I have tried troubleshooting with windows troubleshooter with no results. I have checked all the drivers for audio and they check out fine. I have tried driver software with no success. Windows Media Player does not work. I get an error message when I try to use it. What else can I try?   Carl

    Hello @hifive11,
I have read your post on how your notebook speakers are not working, but the headphones work fine, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
The first step I recommend is to follow this document on No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7). This should help to restore the sound to your speakers.
You can also enable the speakers on your computer as the default playback device. This can be done by following the steps below:
    1. Click the Start button
    2. Click Control Panel
    3. Click on Hardware and Sound (sorting the control panel icons by "category"), and then click on Sound
    4. Under Playback, you should see one or two speaker icons. One of them should already have a green checkmark next to it (which will be your notebook's headset device). If the second Speakers icon is not visible, right-click in the list of devices and select Show Disabled Devices
    5. A second, disabled icon of "speakers" should appear. Right-click this icon and click Enable
    6. Test your speakers
If the issue continues, I recommend returning your notebook to a previous restore point before the speakers stopped working. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7).
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

    Hello,
I am Using Lenovo Z50-70 Laptop, and my speakers were not working and i could hear sound only when i connect headphones but in playback not headphones driver was shown and still i could hear sound... i have checked show disable devices and show disconnected devices.
anyways so what i did is Uninstalled the driver from device manager and it was rolled back to High Definition Audio Device , Now I can See my speaker driver and Headphone driver both in the playback section, And when i play sound it works on Laptop speakers and when i connect headphones it still plays on laptop speaker. To listen sound on headphones i have to manually change default device to headphones or speakers.
I think its something with Audio Jack Is sending message t driver that headphones are connected when its not

    Hello rakesh_kaunder.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. I understand there is no sound coming from the computer's internal speaker. I apologize for the delay, but I will do my best to assist you!
Before any other troubleshooting is done, I would like to run the Microsoft Fix it utility. This tool will troubleshoot and potential resolve the following:
    - Corrupt or disabled audio driver(s).
    - Issues with your audio device(s).
    - Settings of your audio devices (in case something is not enabled that should be).
Please download and run the utility from this Microsoft website: Automatically diagnose and fix Windows audio playback problems
This utility will potentially resolve the issue on its own. If the issue is not resolved, please try the troubleshooting steps in this HP document: No Sound from the Speakers
I believe all of this troubleshooting will resolve your internal speaker issue. Please post your results, regardless of the outcome. Thank you for posting this issue on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • My front speakers are not working.

I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea, Core i7 1.60 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 5650 1 GB, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with 4 GB of RAM.
The problem came up after I reinstalled the windows about one week ago. After I downloaded the driver from HP Drivers and Support things didn't seem to work as they did before. The front speakers are not working anymore now, only the subwoofer works and it sounds awful. Is there any other driver I need  to download or something? Thanks in advance.

Hi here. Use a Mini Display Port to HDMI cable and connect the HDMI into HDMI input on the receiver and the Mini Display to the Mini Display Port on your Mac.
    - Go to System Preferences on your Mac. Click on the "Sound" icon. Then in the "Output" tab, select "(your speakers) - HDMI
    - Then go into Applications via finder > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. On the left side of the window select HDMI. On the right side it then should say "Source: (your speakers)"
    - Click the "Configure Speakers..." button in the bottom right of the window. Click the "Multichannel" tab. Then select "5.1 Surround" from the pull down menu. Click on each speaker to provide a test tone to make sure each is connect properly. Then click on "Apply" if there is no 5.1 option e.g it's greyed out use options 48000.0 HZ and 8ch-16bit Integer. You can then select Configure Speakers, Multichannel and 5.1 Surround from the drop down. When testing the speakers you may have to use the drop downs under each speaker to change the numbers for which speaker is where. Good luck :-) hope it works

  • Function keys are not working correctly

I've been looking all over the various threads and I can't find an answer that solves my problem.
    Here are the details:
I bought the computer in the U.S. where I live.
I have a iMac 2.4GHz intel Core 2 Duo  EMC 2133 with a 20" screen. Bought it new in February 2008.
I have Mac OS X 10.5.8  (I am waiting for my order for OS Snow Leopard to come in!!)
I have been using a wireless mouse and Keyboard (Love not having cords!)
Recently, my wireless keyboard got a short and quit working. I went down to the apple store and got a new wireless keyboard.
I had the computer with me at the genius bar so, yes, the apple employee saw exactly what I have.
I took it all home got the thing all put back together and got the new keyboard paired up and working with the computer.
    Here are the problems:
Went to go use the function keys while using iTunes and found they weren't working properly. The F10, F11 and F12 do not control the volume of sound as the keyboard indicates they would, they instead activate dashboard, spaces, and application windows.
Following the advice of other threads, I looked over in the system preferences and made sure the "Use all F1, F2 etc." box was unchecked (it was unchecked), things still didn't work.
I tried the fn key but it appears to not work at all it has no effect on the functioning of the function keys.
I went under keyboard shortcuts in system preferences and found the F10, F11 and F12 keys, it confirms that those keys control spaces, dashboard and application windows as they are performing but shows no options to either reassign to volume control (as marked on the keyboard) or make the fn key work.
I've gone back and forth trying various combinations of checked and unchecked boxes to see if anything would work, so far I've come up with nothing.
A couple more important or interesting facts:
Yes I have turned off and taken the batteries out of the old keyboard. My bluetooth connection currently shows it as disconnected.
    I have restarted the computer.
One thing I find odd; when I go under preferences and go to Keyboard and Mouse when I go under the section "Bluetooth" it shows Bluetooth mouse with the name of the mouse and the battery level. BUT nothing is showing up under bluetooth Keyboard, I can't figure out how to change this and don't know if it is contributing to the problem.
When I go under the bluetooth logo on the top bar I find the mouse and both keyboards referenced, the old keyboard is shown as disconnected and the other two are connected. I have tried to update the device's name but it doesn't seem to let me.
I have double clicked on the device under bluetooth and it shows the new keyboard as discoverable, paired and connected. Hence, I am using the new keyboard to write this inquiry.
Please, any assistance would be of great help. I have tried to be thorough in order help narrow the possible problem. Thanks!!

    Hendry
Just thought I'd let you know.  Our suspicions were correct, it was the OS. After I installed Snow Leopard (10.6.8) all the problems were corrected.  I also updated the RAM from 1 gb to 6 gb. The mac is working all around better. Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone. My superdrive had pooped out. Rather than replace it I got an external drive from OWC connected with firewire 800.  So far everything is running very well, as far as I can tell this external drive is better than the original superdrive. My superdrive has always acted funny, infact I returned the first mac I got after a week because its superdrive was also malfunctioning. Anyway, all that to say everything seems to be fully functioning again.

  • My pc has a virus I just downloaded song from pc to kids ipods now both ipods are not working correctly could the virus be in the ipods,  if not why are both not working doing the same thing right after unplugging from pc.

Can an ipod get a virus from a pc that has a virus.  After connecting two different ipods to my pc to download music they both are not working correctly, could the virus have transferred to the ipod,  if not why would both ipods not work and be doing the same thing?  When trying to click on a game it just stays on the main screen.

    - I have not heard of a virus that can cause problem with an iDvice that has not been jailbroken.
    - Try resetting the iPods. nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Do you hve problems with one game? The same game on both iPods?
    Other apps?

    Hello there.
Although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
As for your issue, I'm not sure if this is the case, but there is a little know keyboard shortcut to change the keyboard language on Windows. And it's very annoying, since it's easily triggered. I don't know exactly which one it is, but I think it's CTRL+SHIFT, the ones on the right. I suggest you ask Microsoft for support on this one. Firefox doesn't control keyboard languages.

  • My speakers are not working properly.

my speakers are not working properly.the speaker dosent work with music and the keypad clicks, but speakers work fine with siri and voice memos even the speakers work fine with ringtones .how is it possible?

    Restart the phone.

  • My speakers are not working but it still makes a sound when it boots up

my speakers are not working but it still makes a sound when it boots up.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
    1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article.
    2. If your model has an audio-out (headphone) port, and a red light is coming from it, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    3. Boot in safe mode. Don't log in; just reboot as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
    4. Reset the NVRAM.
    5. Reset the SMC.
    6. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
    7. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
