My Laptop TOUCHPAD [Synaptics] multi touch not working on startup

My Laptop is HP Pavilion DV6 - 7040TX
It is working nicely, I noticed one thing. That the multi touch functionality in the touchpad is not working on Windows start up. (Multi touch - Two finger pinch, there finger ....) ie. Only single touch is working, I can drag the cursor, select and click. When I open the Synaptics settings from the Cpanel, the other features are working fine, doesn't make a difference when I closed that settings tab.
This is my issue, some of my friends bought this very same Laptop and they don't seem to have this problem at all. Please help me out of this.

i had the same problem. what solved this for me was to simply go to device manager and under mice and other pointing devices uninstall the touchpad, i had a usb mouse handy just in case i needed it, but then i restarted the laptop and it auto reinstalled touchpad for me and then all options worked on startup.

GT80 Touchpad synaptics num button not working

Hello, I made no changes to the synaptics adjustments, everything at default values, now num button for enabling number pad at gt80 not working any more. other functions (touchpad) are working. even reinstall of synaptics driver not working. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I recently obtained this laptop and by design installed windows 7 x64.
after a number of years working in call centres, I'm used to working blind and talking to people who have only recently been inducted into the realm of technology
(I admit sometimes it is like trying to give someone instructions in another language to help them fix their car engines via the muffler while using a braille workshop manual)
As a matter of course, I encountered the same problem you guys did.
Robert_Tirak thanks for your post, you gave me enough information to get started on finding a solution to this, however, I've taken the tact of writing this as if it's for someone who happened to get their hands on one of these amazing machines but isn't in any way whatsoever computer literate, as that caters for every/anyone.

a little more detail:
*right click on the synaptic touch pad icon in bottom right near time
*pointing device properties
*device settings tab up top
*click device settings button near middle on the right hand side
*on the new screen there's a menu on the left, in that menu
*open 'Tapping'
*then click tap zones and enable it
*then you can change the zones if you like, however, what I've done is disabled top right, bottom left and *right and just enabled top left (the region that covers the num lock lit up section)
my only problem now is, the literal command/app/function to go between numlock with keys vs mouse is missing from the list of available options.. pretty sure it'll just end up being some kind of executable or command line to initiate something in the driver,
I'd be most grateful for any further assistance from anyone who has actually got this working.

Lenovo T61 laptop - Touchpad cursor click action not working

My Laptop is just 1.5 yrs old. I directly ordered from lenovo website.
I recently noticed that my mouse touch pad doesnt work. I tried all below options
1. updated the mouse driver
2. uninstalled and installed mouse driver freshly from lenovo website
still no use.. I am finding it difficult, i didnt a solution for it, i am currently using the USB mouse to use the laptop.

Multi-touch not working after wake-up

Everytime my late 2008 unibody macbook pro (15 ") runs out of power and wakes up again, the multi-touch is gone and the acceleration is wonky on my trackpad. Has anybody else got this problem? Does anybody know how to fix this (i've installed every update there is)

Don't run it out of power before reconnecting the AC adapter. Deep discharges are harder on the battery than partial ones, so this is good advice even for someone who isn't having the problem you are.

G505s - Touchpad hot key function not working with lenovo driver

I'm using windows 8.1, Lenovo G505s laptop. Recently I got replacement from Lenovo regarding touchpad after that this Fn(F7) touchpad enable/disable not working. This is happening only when I installied touchpad driver provided by lenovo and works well with standard microsoft driver (Ofcourse, no multigesture support with that driver).
We perfomed following operations:
1. HotKey mode enable/disable in BIOS
2.Reinstallation of OS
3. Reinstallation of driver(manually)
All cases with microsoft driver this function working but with touchpad driver it is not working. It's almost 90days (88thday) daily contacting both Lenovo customer support and service center people but no use.
If anybody having this problem and have a solution please share! (My machine under warranty!)

It's likely that you have a Synaptics driver (you can verify this by its hardware ID or use a utility software like AIDA 64 Extreme Edition).

If you're unable to install the driver below, can you follow this guide on how to disable driver signature enforcement then try to reinstall the driver again and observe if you can now toggle the Fn+F6.

Multi gestures not working on iPad Air ios8 onwards. Turning gestures off then on works briefly. It's annoying. Is the Air bust? In for rep-air?

MMine has not been working ever since ios8 update. Apple blamed a game I have on the iPad, however this problem occurs on all apps including apple own brand.
ITs it's almost like they don't care

Hi,
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu. Select the Bios option ( usually f10 ) and under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
Note: If the option to run these tests is not available in the Bios Menu, use the f2 diagnostic menu instead.
Can you also post back with the following details.
1. The full Model No. and Product No. of your notebook - see Here for a guide on locating this information.
2. The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 64bit ).

Laptop's internal MIC is not working

My laptop's internal MIC is not working.
I tried updating my audio driver to the latest version. But te problem remains the same.
I also tried to record using SOUND RECORDER. But from that recorded sound, I am getting like an HISSING sound.
Now I have the latest version of the driver only but it is not working. Please help me....

1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Microphone devices
3. Right click Microphone
4. Enable it

Connecting my iphone to wall charger makes my iphone touch not work properly

Holy smokes, I thought I was losing my mind, but that's the exact same thing that's started happening to me since this whole 4.3.1 "upgrade" disaster started - hooking it up to the wall charger overnight, wake up in the morning and it's a brick requiring multiple attempts to restart.
It's also randomly and spontaneously crashing - it'll be on the table or couch beside me, I'll catch movement out of the corner of my eye and look over and see a silver apple.

I had bought lumia 720 on 31/05/2013 , but on 28/12/2013 the touch was not working or the touch was working on its own. Since my phone was in warranty then, they replaced the touch free of cost. But again from 20/08/2014 my phone is having the same problem, touch not working. When i showed it to Nokia care, they told that again they need to replace the touch , it will cost around Rs. 7950 (since my phone was out of warranty this time)... My question is, within 1 year 2 months , twice the touch pad has problem. What kind of phone it is .... Please think before buying Nokia touch phones, I think still they are far behind in touch screen technology ( no offense :-) )....

Not beeing familiar with other countries consumer laws and consumer rights, I can only speak for my self and Norway. But as far as I'm concerned I would have expected extended rights for the new parts and the labour. - If however the fault can relate to the parts involved with the mentioned replacement.
But if this is not possible in your country, there isn't much to do other than repair it for pay or leave it.

You cannot download the upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
If that does not help, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out to make sure there is not a hardware issue.
