  • My Laptop will NOT turn on!!! please help!

My Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5892 will not turn on. It has been this way for almost a month. I had left my computer on while going to the bathroom and when i came back it was turned off. I tried turning it on but it wouldn't. The battery light and the charger light were both green, and the power light is very dimly green. My sister has the same exact laptop as i do, so i tried exchanging the chargers, but it didn't help. I tried exchanging the batteries, which didn't help. I tried letting both batteries sit out for a while then put it back in, but it still wouldn't turn on. I have tried holding down the power button to turn it on, but no matter how hard or how long i hold it down it won't turn on. My dad thought it may be the battery connection but i have no idea, and it is currently just out of the 1 year warranty as it was bought black friday of last year. PLEASE HELP!! PLEASE!....thank you

Unplug the AC adaptor, remove the battery, then press and hold the power button down for a minimum of 30 seconds.  Now replace the battery and see if it powers up.  If not repreat the process but this time leave the battery out and only plug in the AC.  If it still doesn't power on repeat the process again and this time replace the battery and plug the AC back in.  If it still doesn't power up it's time to start checking the hardware.  Remove the ram and try it with only one stick.  You might need to try each one individually to see if either works.  If that doesn't help remove the hard drive and see if it will post to the Toshiba screen.  If that doesn't help you'll probably need to take it to a service center.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Hp pavillion dv7-3065 laptop will not turn on - led light blinks, ac's light on?

HP Pavillion dv7-3065 with Windows 7.
I fell asleep two days ago, and when I woke up yesterday, my laptop was off. (The battery very well may have died while I was sleeping, or just shut off on its own. I don't know which.) I tried turning it on, but nothing happened... except for the lightning bolt (LED light) blinking three times. No noises inside, blank screen, nothing aside those three blinks.
For the record, I've already tried removing the battery. I've also tried removing the battery, removing the AC cord, and holding in the power button for 30+ seconds. It didn't work.
I've tried removing the battery and running off AC. This still doesn't work. However, the laptop recognizes that it's plugged in; the little light by it is consistantly on. I've also tested my laptop with another AC adapter just to be safe. Nothing.
My laptop has been tested without harddrive/etc, but I'm still at a blank. I don't know what else to do. My boyfriend, who's in school to be an IT, took it into his teacher, who messed around with it, and came up with a few conclusions.
He believes that because the lights are flashing, he's confidant that my motherboard is fine. He said to replace the battery, and if that doesn't work, solder the ...I forgot what exactly, but basically it's the charging connection. I forget what exactly. My apologies there.
However... I feel like replacing the battery would be a waste of money... Because regardless of battery, the laptop should still turn on with the AC cord. My boyfriend intends to bring this up and ask if he can just skip to the other thing anyway, but he doesn't have that class again for a week, and I'm at a loss of what else to do. Aside from that, his teacher says there's a limited number of other things that could be wrong...
I was hoping to get some more input...

This won't help you out, but I am experiencing the same problem... I am gonna look on this post to see if you get an answer!
I have the same problem! Except I did manage to get mine to turn on. After doing the hold the power down thing. Nothing happened. I did leave the lap top on cause I was irritated and walked away, about an hour later it came on. It let me turn it on and off a few times. Then stopped. Then leaving it sit on stopped working too

    Hi there @ashirm98
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that your notebook will not power up. I am happy to help you with this.
You mentioned  that it would start with three flashes of the LEDs, assuming that it was a repeating pattern the following page has some informatin about that error message.
HP Notebook PCs - Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps
    LEDs blink 3 times
    Memory
    Module error not functional
If that is the case then follow the instructions for faulty memory modules. However as it also sounds as if power is also a concern.
Check the power adapter, and make sure the connections are good.
Then if you are not getting a charge light, try plugging directly into a different power outlet.
Also depending on what you find in the first page these may help:
Computer Does not Start (Windows 7, Vista, XP)
Using and Testing the AC Power Adapter
Improving Battery Performance (Windows 8, 7, Vista)
Let me know how it goes for you.

Hi , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP TouchSmart Notebook and getting a blank or black screen on startup. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows 8. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue. Please let me know how this goes. Thanks.

I was just going to use the youtube to try and guide me though. The reason im so up for trying to fix it myself is due to the laptop not being mine. Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • TS1363 My ipod will not turn on at all.  When I connect it to the laptop by the USB, it does not recognize it at all.  What could possibly be the problem?  The Nano was working like 30 minutes ago.

About 30 minutes ago, I was adding some music to the ipod Nano.  Everything was working fine.  Now, the ipod will not turn on at all.  When I connect it to the laptop with the USB, the computer does not even recognize it.  The screen has a fant image of the plug on it and it says connected.  I followed the procedures for disconnecting it when I was finished with it earlier.  Any idea what is going on here???
    Thanks

It probably needs to be reset. The procedure is different for different Nano models: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/assistant/itunes/

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

  • I have a G72 laptop that will not turn on! Please help

    Hello,
I have a G72 laptop that will not turn on. The power button simply does nothing. I know that the battery is at least charging because when I plug it in, the LED indicator is white saying that it is charged. Sometimes when I take the battery out and put it back in it starts up for a split second, then a second or two later shuts off. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • My 4th gen iPod Touch will not turn on

Over the last two years, I've battled with inconsistent performance from my iPod Touch 32GB 4th Gen. At some point, I think it got overheated, and I believe that's when the battery issues started. Here's an in-depth look at the various problems...
    1) The iPod will not turn on for weeks at a time. YES, I HAVE tried pressing the home button and wake button at the same time. Please do not suggest that I do that. When I plug it into either a USB port or my wall charger, the iPod will either A) not respond in 90% of cases or B) show the little charging symbol in the other 10%. If I unplug my iPod at this point, it shows the typical "Connect to charger" illustration. However, if I leave it connected to the wall, it will sit there, acting like it's charging, but never actually does. It never even gets to the Apple screen, and this often goes on for days. I have already tried "restore" mode in iTunes to no avail either.
    2) The iPod will charge (after weeks off of the charger), but only for about 25-30 minutes. Once I get it to turn on, it will only charge to about 20% usually, and then I have to remove and re-insert the USB plug to get it to charge further. I cannot use the iPod during this charging time, as it will deplete the battery and put it back in the state from number 1 for weeks. In connection to this problem, my laptop (primary charging source) now makes the sound effect of a USB device being inserted and removed fairly often, even when no iPod is connected, and when the iPod is connected, the USB ports will randomly charge (or not charge) my iPod.
    3) Even on full charge (that rare occasion), my battery life only lasts about an hour.
I don't have a Genius bar anywhere near here, and this iPod is at least 3 years old, so it's not worth pouring a lot of money into to repair or replace. Any solutions?

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    - Try another cable.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
Sounds like at least a bad battery

  • My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.

Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.
