My laptop wont put sound out to my headphones

I have not made any changes to my laptop just HP updates that are reccomended.
The main speaker works great I just cant get any sound to my headphones. The headphones work with my ipod and phone so I know it is not them.
I have tried uninstalling the audio software and reinstalling it but headphones still won't work.

Hi,
Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shutdown the notebook.
Tap away at the esc key as soon as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu and select the Bios Menu ( usually f10 ). Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio to your headphones.

Don't get any sound out of my headphone jack

everything seems to be working just fine except I don't get any sound out of my headphones, almost like it is muted?? Ive tried several different headphones and get nothing, it must be something with the ipod itself... any suggestions

thanks for responding! Yeah i've been playing with the volume levels for over a week now. a few days ago i could hear a very faint sound with volume at full blast. im guessing the problem has something to do with the jack itself... either that or some mute setting i am unaware of?

My iPhone 4S wont play sound out loud...

It's acting like it's plugged into a speaker, which it's not. It will not play sound out loud, and there's no volume bar. And when it does, it's literally for 2 seconds then goes back to no sound... I have no idea what made it start doing this. It was not dropped or anything.... Any suggestions?

Is the Silent on? the little button on the side near the volume, If it is it will be orange. That might be your problem.

No. Video will need to be shared via Home Sharing, Airplay or using an AV adapter.

Hi does anyone know whether the G4 power pc 12 inch laptops have an optical out via the headphone socket as per later machines?

Nope. In all the 12" Powerbooks, the audio port is analog-only.

No Sound In Playback on Headphones

I'm having some problems with my new system. While recording v.o., there is no sound coming out of the headphones. I can't monitor what I'm recording. When I playback the track, the recorded track can be heard out of the monitors, but still no sound out of the headphones. I called Adobe customer service and they said I needed an M- Audio hardware device. I'm using Audition cs6 with Windows 7, through a Focusrite Pro 14 interface. Further investigation on my part led me to speak to an audio expert from a large audio retailer. He informed me that I did not need any other device. What's the right answer? I'm reaching my wits end with this. Any and all help is appreciated!

Is your laptop still in warranty? Have you owned it for less than one year?
If the answer is yes, then Contact HP for warranty repair.

What version of iTunes are you running on your computer? You need to update to the current version.

Laptop wont recognise charger

My laptop wont't recoginse the charger, we have tried taking the battery out and holding the power for 30 seconds and then putting the charger back in technique. How do I fix this?

Try removing the battery and then plugging in the power adapter. Does the led light up and can you press the power button and boot up to the Windows logon screen?

~ Hello, I bouhgt my Sound Blaster X-Fi?Xtreme Audio Notebook card last week, and I can't put it to work. There is no sound out.
I updated the drivers as "support" told me..
I checked the sound options, I gave "priority" choosing?the sound card in options of Windows Vista 32-bits home premium (or something like that) and I even disable the laptop sound "board" which is onboard and is working badly.
I have a P7300 - 2.0GHz - 4GB Ram - 256MB dedicated Graphics - 200GB hard dri've.
I ve introduced the sound card on my pc, waited for the drivers instalation, then I introduced the CD-ROM and installed all those things..
At the end I was hoping it would work, but nothing.
I see the sound level on the (sound level options menu) moving up and down when a music is playing, but no sound comes out through the output of the X-Fi card to my speakers. If I order the sound to come out to the pc speakers (using?the creative software)?it works, but again my speakers are damage..
Does anybody has an idea how to solve this? Thank you

Hi Nonxepic. I've been waiting to see if your question got answered here. I read along above as well and was able to get sound in from instruments thru my firewire interface (Presonus Firestudio) but am wondering if I have to switch back and forth between the selections to hear it back. Have you heard anything, maybe on other discussions? Thanks. Scott

Laptop wont start

My laptop wont start, when I press power, the little light lit but then it died and there's nothing on the screen. I tried taking off the battery for 5 min and put it back on press the power for 30 sec but it still wont start please help... !

Same problem here, I have a dv6 that I used throughout the day just fine. I installed the windows 10 update, it proceeded to restart but never came back on. I tried taking out the batterie, unplugging it, and holding the power button to hard reset still nothing.

Notebook laptop wont do anything

My lil HP notebook laptop wont turn on at all even trying the tips I'v read and everything.. recently the BIO screen came on and I accidently shut the screen and after that Nothing!! I tried everything that I read. I tried taking the batt out holding the on button on for 30 secs with the ac adaptor plugged in.. i have a similar problem
My Pavillion dv7-7199us labtop not powering up.
- First, few weeks ago, it didn't power up untill i remove the battery and connect AC charger only and after i shutdown the charging led stays on (white)
- After that it didn't power on with AC charger. I did the hard reset and it worked.
- Now, it doesn't power up at all.
i tried to use battery only, AC charger only, Both of them, and tried the hard reset. all failed.
when i connect the AC charger, the charging led turns on (white) .
the battery test button (lights below the battery) says the battery is near full charged.
when i press the power button, no lights, no sound and no response at all.

i guess you are referring to iTunes Match. It sounds as though you haven't downloaded all the content and are trying to play your music over a poor connection.
