My LCD screen burned out. I have it connected to a tv now, but can't get the menu bar or the function bars to show up. Please help!

My LCD Screen burned out, but the computer still works. I currently have it connected to an HDTV via, Mini DVI to VGA, VGA to VGA on the tv. Problem is, I can't get the function bar (maybe not the right term) or the bar at the bottom with all my programs on it. I get my screen saver and have managed to drag (by sheer luck since I can't see anything on my iMac screen) some of my pics I had on my desktop over, but nothing else. Please help!

you should have on your key board "mirroring key" , or F7 on old keyboard
for now your tv is an extended screen for your imac not a miror , so you can not see menue barre on top of screen

I've tried going through my new MacBook Pro settings and it the diagnostics check, it says network changes detected, I tell it that it "yes" does connect to a cable modem, it tells me to restart it, after I do it asks if there are any other devices hooked up ( firewall) and when I say no it tells me that it can't fix the problem.
Now I know that I probably have a new IP address because of the cable company switching the boxes but it was working fine with the other box, now there isn't a signal to be had on it!
Please anybody out there that can help!!!??

You can go to the Apple online store and purcahse a copy of Mountain Lion. This will give you a redemption code, which you can use to download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Unfortuantely, I'm not aware of any other way to legally purchase it. I have never seen Apple release Muontain Lion on DVD.
In terms of Apple Service, they just need the serial number of the machine to check the purcahse date. It is usually correct, to within a few weeks. A quick Google search should give you the correct number to dial.

I would delete the account and try to re-enter it. Also, you have to let your firm's IT department know that you want to sync work email on your personal devices before they actually work.

I have an iMAC w/OS 10.7.5. I was working in Firefox today and as I was entering letters it changed to unrecognizable characters so I had to exit the application. Firefox froze up and after trying to re-open it many times, I finally tried uninstalling and then re-installing. When trying to open a new download, I am given an error message saying that firefox is already open or that files are missing. I spent approx 2 hrs on the phone with Apple support and they were unable to locate problem and I am now turning to you for help. I need this fixed desperately and ASAP as the program that I use for work will only run on Firefox.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

Sounds like the music you had on your phone was not the same music on his computer. The iPhone/iPod touch is not designed to be a storage device. When you sync with a computer that doesn't have your music, it deletes your music from your phone.
Was this music you purchased from iTunes? if so, and you are in the US, tap on itunes app, tap updates, tap purchased and tap on the cloud icon to get each song back. If you're not int he us, get iOS5 update later this week and do the same.
But you need to move your itunes library to his computer. Create a user account on his macbook pro for you. From your external drive backup, load your itunes library on it. Then sync as usual! (Don't tell me you don't have a backup for your computer!)

I am stumped I do not understand why my roommates macbook pro when duel screened will display perfectly on my monitor while mine refuses to, but mine will display perfectly when using another monitor that is not mine. Please help me out.

One day when using my duel display the second monitor decided it wouldn't display at full resolution in the middle of doing something i was confused. I use a mini display to hdmi then hdmi to the second monitor. I thought maybe the converter or cable died. I bought another another mini display to hdmi and tried another hdmi cord and the same issue. My roommate has macbook pro as well so i decided to see if it was the monitor, when i pluged the mini display converter into his and used the external monitor it displayed perfectly not below resolution. Doing this I knew it was not the monitor or the mini display to hdmi or the hdmi cable. I took it into the genuis bar assuming now that it was my grapics card or logic board. When the genuis went to duel screen it on a cinema display it displayed perfectly. So went home tried to duel screen it again and still not displaying at full resolution. That is where I am stuck, in summary:
My screen used to display perfect resolution on a second monitor and suddenly did not.
Tested two mini display to hdmi and hdmi cords both were fine.
Tested to see if monitor was issue but displayed perfectly when i used roommates laptop.
Went to genius bar and displayed perfectly on second monitor so it can display perfect resolution on apples monitors but will not do so anymore on my monitor, even though roommates macbook pro will display perfect resolution on my monitor.
I am beyond confused.

Apparently you have tried everything except - take the monitor in question to the Apple Store along with your computer. If it works there, the mystery continues.

My screenshots have stopped going to my clipboard. How can I get my screenshots back into the clipboard?

I use Command (⌘)-Shift-4 to grab screenshots of diagrams to make flashcards with on a daily basis. But now my screenshots have stopped going to my clipboard - and they don't paste into my flashcards.
Dropbox popped up and asked me if I wanted to use it to save my screenshots and I said No Thanks, but then right after that my screenshot function stopped working. I can still save shots to my desktop, but I'd love to not clutter my desktop. The screenshots are not going to dropbox either, I checked.
Can someone tell me how to get my screenshots to go back to going into my clipboard?

Thanks Lanny! I actually typed in the wrong command into my question - I meant to type what you mentioned. But I did end up figuring it out: for some reason the shortcut to screenshot into my clipboard changed. I was able to restore all my shortcut commands back to default and it worked again!

I have just d/loaded FF4 and now I can't get into my e mail account.

I am with Sky broadband and since d/loading Fire fox 4 I have not been able to get into my e mail. When I go to log in, it tells me that i have entered the wrong details. This is a real pain as I am in business and I need my e mail.

All email accounts have a password. If you do not know yours I suggest you contact your mail provider and ask them for assistance.

HT1727 I lost my old iPod and bought a new one. The old one had many of MY personally owned and legally bought CDs on it. I have those iTunes backed up ant now I can't seem to "synch" them to the new iPod nano.

I can't seem to synch my new iPod nano to the legally purchased music from CDs that had been on my old iPod which I've lost.
I had a backup of all those iTunes that I want to import to the new nano.
How can I "synch" the new iPod nano to the music I see in an iTune library? The new iPod nano displays "no music" and
doesn't play anything.

You might consider restoring the iPhone, then removing the SIM card after activating the iPhone, so as to use it as an iPod Touch. This should prevent any unwanted association with a phone number, and thus, voicemail, as well.
