My left side of my earphones decided not to work

The left side of my apple earphones with remote and mic suddenly stopped working. I found out that if i tilt the wire at a certain angle, it works. If i dont, no sound comes out of it. I reside in Singapore

Normally it just happends from wear and tear and it's happend to most of my headphones and then the headphone actually starts to fall apart so i have given up on buying them as they break so easily, instead I get them for free from

Trashing the preference file may help, as I've outlined in the topic I've linked to. Otherwise, follow the steps regarding removing 3rd party QuickTime components. Also, see the final post by the OP (EEye87) regarding how his problem was resolved (a combination of trashing the preference file and the 3ivx component).

can somebody please help me fix this issue, i have been sitting at my computer all last night and this morning trying to figure it out. It could be the hardrive or anything really i just need to get it working. Alot of important things that need to be done using this computer and i am freaking out.

Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
Or if you are running 10.7 Lion, boot from the recovery partition (Command +R on boot) and use Disk Utility to repair your OS 10.7 partition.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

HT1688 home screen button decided not to work?

Today, my iPhone 5's home button decided not to work. I had to use the Assisttouch feature to do everything. Is that normal? I tried the hard reset, and same results. I will hate to replace my iphone :| since everything else works fine except the home button. Is it a software bug or hardware defect?

Left side shift/command/option keys not working

I have a 2010 11" macbook air and out of nowhere my left side Shift Command Option keys are not working at all. Anyone had this issue? or know what I can do to solve it?
I have tried connecting my keyboard to it and doing the reset PRAM, SMC, PMU with no luck. I tried installing new Mountain Lion OSX hoping it was a software issue and it is still not working.

I had a key fail on my MBA and the problem progressed to other keys. It turned out to be the electoonics in the keyboard, not the individual keys. When it progressed to W, I had to replace it;) Given you have two keys failing at once it could be a similar problem.

Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

I have an iphone 4S and it has been doing crazy things like typing on its own. IT's like someone is shadowing my phone. Also, the left side of the phone keys get frozen, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. More than likely a failing display. You can try restoring it to see if that helps, but you'll probably have to have the phone replaced. make an appointment at the genius bar.

Left side of my screen touch isn't working !

The left side of my screen isn't responding to text. Letters like a, w are impossible to type and cannot access any of the icons on the left side of the screen. I went to apple and they said its an hardware issue and I'd have to pay $200 to replace my screen. But then I was reading through some of the discussions and people said how they had a loose cable issue and they fixed it. I'm out of warranty too so if I did have a loose cable connection would it be free of charge ? Because I'm considering going back to the apple store to have a chat with them again.

Apple does not repair phones, they exchange them. As yours is out of warranty, you can get an out of warranty exchange for $200, which is what you were offered the first time around "to repair your screen".

HT1688 My iphone 4s on the left side on my touch screen does on work.

Soundtrack export fury: Having performed fine for years, when exporting from a multitrack session Soundtrack now exports a tiny 152KB file of nothing. Have synced bit rates etc, and tried different submixes. It's just decided not to work anymore. Ideas?

You may want to use one of these others methods for accessing your bookmarks if that button is unreliable:
(1) Menu bar. Tap the Alt key or press F10 to display the menu bar. You can use View > Toolbars > Menu Bar to make that persistent.
(2) Sidebar. Press Ctrl+b to open the Bookmarks sidebar.
Maybe another contributor can help with the button issues.

My iPod was knocked out of my hand at school and it cracked and chipped really bad. It worked fine, until this moning. The entire left side of my screen does not work at all. I cannot rewind songs, unlock my device, or enter my password.
How am I going to get my serial number now?
It is practically impossible.
And how much would it cost for it to be fixed?
It is a 4th gen black iPod touch.
