My lenovo e330 wont boot ubuntu or any other os on usb or external hd at startup

I tried to install linux/ubuntu off my external hard drive by rebooting on windows 8.1 e330. And it just turns blank after i select the drive to boot temporaily by pressing F12. I also tried to remove quick boot to diagnostics, checked legacy settings were made to run first and secure boot was disabled ithin bios. its a shame cause i cant clean install windows or any Linux OS. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

You could use CCC to do a trimmed down clone and leave out most of the sub folders. Do a 2nd clone to have a full working copy.

My guess is one of your drives needs to be reinitialized. Only during format will the hidden partition blocks be tested, and of course a healthy set of partitions created, things that cannot be repaired normally - though Lion Recovery partition does have abilty to check the health of partition tables. And about the only reason I'd even buy Lion!

I use it to see movies onto my bigscreen tv and use my linux server as media server
When the lenovo is coold i can start xbmc no problem
I take a movie look on it when the movir is finisht and i go back Whole computer is hangup
Now i cant doing any more looking on movie untill the computer has bin coold again
This is happening with and with out HDD installed !
So what is this ?
Is it som thing that be to work ?
It is like it cuts of SATA and USB when it worm !

Yes i did try to get the temp info from lm-sensors but did not get any cpu temp info or fan info.
I can tell that the Fan dont work at all running Linux !
Fan only works with Windows ! Why i dont know
I tryd my Ubuntu 9.10 - 10.04 without Sacsess, fan still off
Booted up Windows Xp Pro from a Usb stick and the fan started from then boot of windows install untill i self shoutdown the computer !

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

[e330] wont boot without external power

My lenovo e330 started having problems with HDD.
Most of the time when trying boot without PSU connected got windows error saying "A disk read error press alt ctrl del to restart"
Also when working without PSU on low level of battery it tends to crash with BSOD sayin it can't store memery dump becouse of disk error.
Smart show CRC udma erorr count almost 4000.

Boot the "old white MB" from the external, and double-check the version of OSX on it. Make sure it's not earlier than the version that came with the MBP. Check the MBP's DVD, or plug it's serial number in here: http://www.appleserialnumberinfo.com/Desktop/index.php
If it's newer, while it should boot the MBP, it's possible it won't in some cases. See: [Mac OS X v10.6: Issues after restoring a Mac from a Time Machine backup made with a different Mac|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3243]. While that's talking specifically about a Time Machine restore, the issue is the same.
You might be better off putting a copy of the latest Retail Install disc you have (as long as it isn't earlier than what the MBP came with) on your "repair drive," instead of an installation of OSX. Just restore it from the DVD via Disk Utility.

Macbook wont boot CD - need any help

Alright so the other day my mac wouldnt boot up. And i took it to the apple store and they decided that i need a hard drive. so i went and bought one, and it wont boot the install cd that came with the laptop. I have no idea why with both hard drives all you see is a folder with a ? flashing. Wont boot or run anything. What do i do?

i tried to flash this ics ota through cwm.........when i tried it failed.........then my recovery got messed up..........it wasnt installing any update.zip.....then i read a post.....to create a bootable sdcard with A1Bootsd.img........now i can go to cwm but evev if i flash cwm.....it doesnt stay.....i mean when i pull the sdcard out....the device wont even start.....by the i can access adb commands through cwm......but icant push file to internal sdcard....it says failed to mount as R/W.........plzz help me.....its totally dead!!!!!!!! Use one of the OTA .zip files and copy it to an external SD card. Then boot your a1 like your doing an update with the power button vol + button and it will find the update.zip file on the external SD card. I used the latest .zip file and then renamed it to update.zip 2643 US file I had to use my laptop to put the .zip file on my SD card because of course my A1 wasn't working after installing the ICS_OTA.

Lenovo T61 wont boot from disk or blue button but it will run pc doctor

So I had left my Lenovo T61 Laptop on overnight and I woke up to a black screen with some sort of error message about the hard drive. I have had previous error messages about the hard drive on a blue screen but it has always returned to normal when I switch it back on.
So after I try to turn it back on I get a blue screen about the hard drive, laptop resets and it wont start up normally.
This is what happens when I try to start it...
I have the option to press the blue button
after that Im on a black screen with the option to start windows normally or launch start up repair.
It doesnt matter what option I choose, a loading bar appears with 'windows is loading files...'
the next screen is another loading screen, 'microsoft corporation'
after it has been on this for over 5 minutes, the screen goes black and stays that way.
If I put in my restore disk (I have and boot from the drive it skips the option of starting normally or going to recovery center and starts on the loading screen (windows is loading files...) then goes to the 'microsoft corporation' loading bar, after a while it goes black and stays that way. I can hear the disk spinning and the disk is new without scratches.
If I put pc doctor in and boot from the cd, pc doctor comes up. I have ran the test twice and each time everything passed.
I had vista 32 on, and that is the recovery cds I have. I have used cd 1, 2 and 3 without any sucsess.
If one person gives me the correct this without sending it to Lenovo I will paypal you £10 (basically buying you a beer)

I hadnt tried that, I didnt know I could. When I did that test it came back with a 0000 error. I googled that and found a few thread on this forum saying its means the hard drive is on its way out. So its looks like I have to send it in.
Im not sure if this is the model number, but the type is 8898-AQG
If I try to run safe mode its starts loading files on a black screen. The last one its loads is
'Loaded: \windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys'
I have no clue what that is, but it stops there.

My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Strang pop up message and then iPod wont work or get any other sound

I got a new desktop and downloaded the new iTunes and then updated by iphone 3G-S and now I am getting this message popping up.

I have no accessories besides apps and this occurs randomly when even nothing is running but seems worst when ipod or app is running. What is going on?

Who did the replacement? If the screen was replaced due to a drop, there may be some internal damage or loose connection.
Some iPad users have been able to revive their dropped iPad. Turn the iPad over and give it a HARD SLAP on the back. May take several slaps.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

I need to use windows in order to use Visual C++ for college but I don't have enough space in my internal Hard Drive so I want to install windows 7using boot camp or any other method on a portable hard drive and boot from it.

You can't boot Windows natively except on internal drives.
You can use a VM and put the VM image (VHD) anywhere any drive you want.
You are way too low on disk space, seriously so. And no room - even Windows and Mac OS should be warning and balking already.
"emulator" is an old-school term, even true, running a Guest OS under Mac's as a virtual machine, shared resources (RAM, processor) is easier but not the same performance level as running natively.

Lenovo e330 touchpad problem on ubuntu 12.04 LTS (32 bit)

dear all,
i've installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32 bit on my lenovo e330. everything almost fine, but my touchpad.
everytime i tap to click on th touchpad, the pointer shifted a little bit to the other direction. that's not what i want...
the pointer is ok if i click using mouse, or trackpad.
i've adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad in setting > mouse and touchpad setting but no luck.
i just thinking maybe i have to update the driver of the touchpad, but i can't find it using google...
somebody can give me advice? thanks before.

this xorg.conf addition helped me, but i set VelocityScale 64.

My iMac wont boot up properly. Stops at background pic, no dock, only little apple show up top and cursor sticks on little spinning wheel. Have to shut down manually in back and reboot to get it to work. Any ideas why this sometimes happens?

My problem is that occasionally my Mac wont boot properly. It gets to the background picture where the dock should open but it freezes there. The little apple shows up top left but nothing else and the cursor shows as the little spinning wheel that wont do anything. I can't click on the apple to restart, I have to switch off in back and then start up again. It usally boots all the way after that but I'm worried there's something up since this seems to be happeneing more frequently. Also I'm worried that having to manually shut down like that will somehow damage the software in time?
I tried a disk verify but there were no repairs needed. I repaired disk permissions too just in case but it still seems to happen every once in a while.
I've noticed recently that it happens the next reboot after I've been streaming movies online if that helps. Is there any reason for this and anything i can do to stop it in the future?
