My Lenovo G50 Mouse Touchpad isn't working

Hi, I updated to Windows 10 yesterday. I thought my laptop was working OK after the update, but I've noticed that my mouse touchpad doesn't work at all after the update. I hit the F6 button to turn the touchpad off and on, and it still isn't working. Can you help? Thank you!

Some touchpad has an ON/OFF switch. Tried tapping the upper-left corner of the touchpad twice. if you can see a light on the upper-left of the touchpad, it means it's off. tap the upper-left corner twice to enable it. hope this works
Clicking on KUDOS is a good way of saying thank you.
I'm not an HP employee. I'm anybody

    hi afletcher91,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
If you do a left click and it doesn't respond or the key gets stucked or is stiff, that's an indication that the Touchpad needs to be replaced (probably got worn out due to everyday use). You may send the unit in for service or you can fix it yourself.
Not sure about how much it would cost but you need to replace the Touchpad Button (Part#: 31048975), you can get it at http://tinyurl.com/cqbvv5f
You can find disassembly guide at the Hardware Maintenance Manual here http://tinyurl.com/cbs9k5e
    Hope this helps.

  • Lenovo G50 mouse does not move smoothly

Hello, I recently bought a Lenovo G50. Today the pointer of mymouse (touch pad) does not move smoothly. That's very irritating. Someone has an idea what the cause (and solution!) is? King regard, Marije

    Hi Marije,
    Welcome to the Forums
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with touchpad in your Lenovo G50 laptop.
Try to increase the sensitivity of the touchpad and check for the issue, also boot the system into safe mode and check for the issue.

  • Mouse/Touchpad will not work with my keyboard

    Hello!
This  Christmas, I recieved a brand new Notebook to replace my previous dead ASUS laptop. I had been without my own personal computer for months so this came as a godsend so to speak. So far the machine has worked wonderfully, but as a gamer in my down time I have found that I cannot use the touchpad if any of my keys are active or pressed down. This poses a great problem when it comes to most games which require AWSD movement or any other combinatio of keys with the ability to move the mouse.
I have looked into other ways to try and fix, and it seems to be an issue with the touchpad driver software, with other FAQs reporting that I should install a new touchpad drver, but that seems a tad farfetched or out of the way.
This may just be from a stigma of having no idea how I would uninstall my current driver and reinstall a new one.
Are there any settings I can go through in order to fix this issue, or do I really need a new driver, and if so, any on in particular?
    With my Sincere Gratitude,
    Fletcher L. T.

    Hi @LeeTravels ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion Notebook and issues with the Touchpad and gaming.
Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the mouse and Touchpad gestures.
In the document, it shows you how to change the settings by clicking the settings icon to adjust the button actions on the Touchpad.
Sometimes this is causes by and update that is needed. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that might need updating.
Most gamers do use a mouse and it is recommended for best gaming performance.
Please let me know how this goes.
    Thanks.

  • Laptop Mouse touchpad doesn't work with Firefox 4

Previously in Firefox 3, I could use the touchpad on my laptop to middle click, and scroll. Now it won't work with Firefox 4. When I try to use the scroll feature it registers the mouse as scrolling, but the page doesn't move at all in Firefox. When I try to open a link in a new tab using middle click it shows the auto scroll but even then the orientation is wrong as well. When trying to close a tab using the middle click it shows the same left to right auto scroll instead. It works fine with a normal mouse, but with a touchpad it doesn't work at all. I have also tried using drivers to fix the problem, but that was not the issue.

well, if you stick to firefox 4, then i'd say, well, babylon in my memories, it offers a online prompt method of translation, supporting tens of languages, similar to google translate webpages, the url is http://translation.babylon.com/ you can keep firefox 3.x and 4.0 in the same time in your windows. firefox 3.x to 4.0 update is not compulsory, so use the one you feel good with.

  • My macbook mouse/touchpad has stopped working. After 5 minutes ,the mouse won't click and I have to shut down. What's wrong?

I have a white macbook, about 4 years old. Every time I use it, after five minutes, the mouse and touchpad stop working. You can still hear the click but it doesn't actually click anything on the screen, effectively freezing the computer. I have to just shut it down. What can i do about this?!? Thanks

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • LENOVO Z51 MOUSE AND KEYBOARD NOT WORKING AT SAME TIME

I know this question has been asked before, but those solutions do not work for me. I just got my new Lenovo z51 80k60030us and I quickly put a game on it just to test out the waters. ran well. However, I can't move (use the keyboard) and look around (use the mouse) at the same time. I looked all over the internet and understood that it has something to do with "palm tracking" however no one had the solution for my specific mouse/keyboard issue. when I try and change the options under the lenovo mouse, it is grayed out. I tried everything to ungray it, but I have yet to succeed. help please??

  • Mouse wheel isn't working...

How to enable mouse wheel in arch??
I have a PS/2 mouse with 2 buttons and a mouse wheel used as 3-rd button.

should be as easy as throwing
    # Get the wheel working
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
in the mouse section of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    for example:
    Section "InputDevice"
    # Identifier and driver
    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "Auto"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
    # Get the wheel working
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    # Mouse-speed setting for PS/2 mouse.
    # Option "Resolution" "256"
    # When using XQUEUE, comment out the above two lines, and uncomment
    # the following line.
    # Option "Protocol" "Xqueue"
    # Baudrate and SampleRate are only for some Logitech mice. In
    # almost every case these lines should be omitted.
    # Option "BaudRate" "9600"
    # Option "SampleRate" "150"
    # Emulate3Buttons is an option for 2-button Microsoft mice
    # Emulate3Timeout is the timeout in milliseconds (default is 50ms)
    Option "Emulate3Buttons"
    # Option "Emulate3Timeout" "50"
    # ChordMiddle is an option for some 3-button Logitech mice
    # Option "ChordMiddle"

  • Help. My touchpad isn't working correctly!

I can go up and down with my touchpad when I scroll but for some reason I can't go back or forward ( using the three fingers ) or 4 fingers for expose. I'm not sure whats going on, but I have my settings correct. How do I fix this? Thanks!

May be unchecking and rechecking the items in the Trackpad pane will help.
System Preferences > Tracckpad > Point & Click
    Check the Double Click speed.
System Preferences > Trackpad > Trackpad Options > Double Click Speed
Shut down the computer. Clean the trackpad with a slightly damp but  not wet
microfiber cloth. Sometimes that can help.

I made a topic at the wrong board so here it is:

I'll fill out a contact form later this week if I can't so anything.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.  Have you been through ALL of these troubleshooting steps?

  • Synaptics touchpad mouse now doesn't work after updating Firefox on netbook.

I updated from Firefox 3.6.X to Firefox 9.0.1.
Now my "mouse" (touchpad) does not work.
Hardware: Acer Aspire One 532h netbook.
    OS: Windows 7 32-bit.
    Touchpad: Synaptics PS/2 Compatible Mouse
I have done the following in the order listed to try to fix the problem (in between as required I have restarted the computer):
    Updated the driver.
    Rolled back the driver.
Adjusted the value of ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled (within about:config) to 0.
Adjusted the value of ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled (within about:config) to 1.
Returned the value of ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled (within about:config) back to original value of -1.
    Disabled the driver.
    Removed the driver.
Downloaded from Synaptics and installed the driver.
    Removed the new driver.
Downloaded from Acer and installed the driver.
Note that the Device Manager has always shown the driver/device to be working properly, but clearly it isn't.
The functionality of the mouse terminated after I updated Firefox. Nothing else was done to the netbook.

OK, so I am the only person that this has ever happened to. Awesome.
FWIW, I realize that updating Firefox should have ZERO impact on the touchpad driver. However, there was nothing else done to (or with) the netbook that could have caused this.
Freak coincidence? Any opinion is appreciated...

  • Touchpad randomly stops working and I need to disable/enable it in driver settings

My mouse touchpad sometimes (very often, actually) just stops working completely (no mouse movements, no clicks etc.), it's just completely dead, even both click buttons. What I then need to do in order to temporarily fix it is to go Synaptics Pointing Device (this window) and click "disable" and then "enable". This appearently re-enables my touchpad and everything works again for a while. This is becoming a big issue for me. If I don't have a external mouse present, the only way to fix the problem is to restart my laptop. I do have the right drivers installed. Latest version and windows 8.1 drivers. I even updated them with HP Support Assistant to make sure. And I also tried downloading them from here (Synaptics Mouse Driver version 18.1.24.4). Also, this happens completely randomly. Sometimes after 10min of usage, sometimes after a few hours. Also, I am not the one accidentaly disabling it (there is no orange light). Sometimes it even happens that the drivers aren't loaded when laptop turns on, so touchpad isn't working from the start and there's no way to enable it. So I need to restart laptop. How can I fix this?

I have. Multiple times. I even tried installing some older version drivers to see if it works. Currently, I can't get my touchpad to work at all. I'm using my external mouse. I restarted the laptop multiple times and there is no Synaptics icon in the taskbar and touchpad + both buttons are completely unresponsive.

  • Touchpad doesn't work correctly

My touchpad isn't working correctly anymore.
i don't know if this is due to hardware or software but i will explain the problem and maybe someone can help me.
the pad is working correctly, so i can move the mouse, but when i try to push the touch pad it doesn't work anymore. i've already activated the touch option so that i can still whithout a usb mouse.
    But please someone help me

If the click function is working with the tap, but not by physically clicking the touch pad, it is more than likely a hardware failure. Take it to the apple store for a diagnosis.

  • [solved] Touchpad doesn't work anymore

I have a Acer Extensa 5235. Since today the touchpad isn't working on Arch anymore.
I tried out a Windows installation medium and there it worked so it should be physicaly okay.

I tried a couple of different options in 10-evdev-conf and 10-synaptics.conf. None really made a difference.
    The cleanest might be this:
    10-synaptics.conf as above.
included at the end of 10-evdev.conf:
    Section "InputClass"
Identifier "disable synaptics secound mouse found"
    MatchProduct "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/mouse0"
    Option "Ignore" "on"
