My LG phone rings twice then goes to voice mail

The people that call say my phone rang at least 7 times than went to voice mail. I hear two rings and before I answer it the call is gone.

Do you have any call blocking apps that might interfere?  Is this a basic or smartphone?

    Talk to your carrier.  Sounds like something is not provisioned right on your account.

  • Agents line rings only twice before going to voice mail

    I have our queues set up so that if the agent does not answer the phone or if the caller is stuck in the queue the call will transfer to VM. This all works fine except that the agent is telling me that the phone only rings 2 times before the call gets sent to voice mail. I want to increase the number of rings to 4 or so.
    I thought this was a factor of time. Say if the person is on hold for 16 seconds (I think that is equivalent to 4 rings) then kick out to the voice mail. Unfortunately I am looking at the code in the UCCX Editor and cannot seem to find the timing or anything saying "Number of rings" to set a value. I also went through the UCCX GUI but did not find anything. I was going through my books form the class I took on UCCX 7 and cannot find anything on this, though I could have sworn we covered this. But, that was 2 or 3 years ago and I am also on UCCX v8.5 now.
    Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on where I can look or what I can change to get this working. On a side note, when a call comes to her personal line, it does ring 4 times before going to voice mail. The agent line is the only one that only rings 2 times.

    I cannot determine what method you are using to technically extend the call to voicemail after the ringing, and therefore couldn't give you any tips to check.  Could you just clarify the call flow for both points:
    1. How do you extend the call to the Agent?
    2. How do you extend the call to Voicemail?
    Typically, when working with Agents and Ringing time, you adjust two settings:
    1. In UCCX Script - Select Resource Step (Or Connect Step if applicable) Timeout value
    2. In CUCM - Directory Number (Or Service Parameter if applicable) Ring No Answer timer
    Depending on what you're doing in the scripting it could be something like a Call Consult Transfer even.  But that's not clear at this time.  Let us know, and we'll get you fixed up.

  • Phone barely rings, then goes to voice-mail.

    I have an 8530 with t-mobile. For the past few days when someone call me my phone rings for 1 second then goes to voicemail. I haven't changed anything and I haven't tried anyway to fix it yet.

    There are a number of things that it could be, but only you are in a position to figure it out. What you need to do is think back to when this behavior started..what changed? Some update? Some new app? Anything, no matter how small, could be causal. If you can recall what that was, then undo it and see if things return to normal.
    If you can't figure it out, then the thing to try is pretty drastic...reloading your OS fresh and going very slow about adding things on to see if you can figure out what is causing this. It is likely some app that is causing the conflict...but there's no way, from here, to know what that could be.

    If you're using AT&T, dial 611 from your phone and ask the representative to set it for you. They could set it up to 30 seconds before going to vioce mail.

    Call your voicemail access phone number and go to settings. There is an option for that.

  • Phone rings once then stops.

    Greetings everyone.
    There seems to be a strange old problem with the phone. Whenever someone tries to call, it rings once then goes quiet. I did a test from my mobile and it seems that somehow the phone gets 'picked up' by magic for a few seconds, cos my mobile got charged for it!!
    Before you ask, I tried to old test socket and same result.
    Tried the 2 phones we have independently and the same result.
    Disconnected the home hub and the same result.
    Regarding dialling out, it seems 100% fine, so this problem is a strange old one!
    I called the BT fault line and the person said it MIGHT be related to my equipment and I'll get charged if I call the engineer. Hopefully, that won't be the case cos I booked the engineer already!
    It would be much apperciated if anyone can help me regarding the fault, or whether I will be charged or not for the engineer appointment.

    I do not have the type of socket that allows the test you describe. I have explained this to BT India numerous times but always get asked to  carry out the test. I had two ring trips this morning and so again rang BT and this time asked to speak to customer services. After some haggling they put me through. However, BT customer services refuse to become involved in line faults and I was transferred back to India, where I was once again asked to carry out the same ritual tests. The end result was that they would 'monitor' the line over the weekend (whatever that means). In the meantime, I received a ring trip call at 17.15 which rendered the line unusable for the next two hours. We checked the line every hour and it was working again two hours later. What I can't understand is that we had an engineer visit about two weeks ago, he said he detected a fault at the exchange but he did not replace the socket we have with a modern one. Who is responsible for this?

    It's preset by some phone software but you still may have some sound settings for the answer time. Go to settings and check under call answer settings.

  • Calls not going to Voice Mail

    Hi,
    We've had skype for ages.  We use it for our business and have skype numbers and multiple skype users.
    For some reason, the past three days, any incoming calls on our user sales.munz1 is not going to voice mail.  It just rings, and rings and rings.
    Since the other users don't use voice mail, this is the only user with the issue.
    What's up Skype?  We haven't changed anything.
    At this moment, we've unticked go to Voice Mail, otherwise we can not hear the phone ring and ring and ring and pick up customer calls.
    Any solutions?

    It really can only be on the carrier side as it is their servers that have number of rings etc set before dumping to voice mail.  Voice mail again is on their servers, your phone doesn't record voice mail, they do.  Their servers then tell your phone you have voice mail and send a *copy* to visual voice mail.
    I would call them again.  If never dumps to voice mail, it is their servers not stopping the call and dumping it to voice mail.

    This is the third time in a year that this happened on my FIOS Digital Phone service and it is annoying. I don't have voice mail activated, but out of the blue I show a "New Voice Mail" message on my caller ID screen.         I'm sorry to see your co-worker was not able to reach you kaokim. We know how important it is to be able to receive and make calls in a reliable manner. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
    As advised earlier in the thread, there is a specific time it will ring, and it can't be changed. However, to make sure you're provisioned correctly, make sure call forwarding is disabled by calling *73.
