My Library and iPod Memory Doesnt Match... PLEASE HELP

When my iTunes is open and my library is highlighted, it says "720 songs, 2.87 GB. Then when my iPod is plugged in and i highlight that, it says 13.87 GB Used, 14.71 GB Free. How can half my 30GB iPod say its half used when there is only 2.87GB of songs? I do have album covers but that shouldn't take up that much room and I have no videos or pictures on it. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks!!

The following Knowledge Base article provides some good, practical steps for troubleshooting issues with charging:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery

Particularly:
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Two Users, One Shared Library, and iPod keeps being "reset". Help.

My wife and I share the same Mac Mini. We have separate accounts, but use the same iTunes Library, which is on a shared volume. (This is a separate hard drive where all our music is kept.)
Here's the problem: Tunes keeps asking me to reset my wife's iPod every time I log in and open iTunes. Specifically it says "this iPod is linked to another library, do you want to overwrite..." etc. Interestingly enough, this does not happen with my Nano, which is also connected to the computer.
FYI, we each have our own playlists set up; does this indicate that our library is in fact not shared? The path to the music itself is the same as per the iTunes preferences...

Actually, I just figured out the answer to my own question. Apparently this is not possible with the shuffle. I don't know how to cross-post on these boards, but if anyone else is interested the relevant thread can be found by searching for:

Super DVD to Ipod Converter doesnt work please help!

So im trying to convert a family guy dvd (from one of the season box sets) and it wont convert. I have no idea whats wrong i went through the whole tutorial from their website. Do i need to pay the 30 dollars to get it to convert. Because when i try to at the top it says loading internal encoder but then it shows up a little pop up and it says Mpeg2Decoder: Error during decoder initialization and then it says underneath that it says that its unable to read from the dvd drive. and yah it wont work any suggestions?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The usual results of posting etrecheck output on this site without a full description of the problem are very poor.
The many "failed" warnings that etrecheck sometimes spews mean nothing. Those warnings are not a reason to reinstall the OS, or to do anything else at all. They should be ignored.
The better your description of the problem, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

- You can try disabling the camer notification

- Do you have any camera, scanner or similar software installed? That may prevent iTunes from seeing the iPod.
