My Linksys WRT54GS says that I am not connected to the internet, but I really am. Why?
My Linksys WRT54GS says that I am not connected to the internet, but I really am.
The Linksys EasyLink Advisor is telling me that there is a problem and the internet connection is not working.
However, my computer and every other computer and laptop connected to this router can get on the internet perfectly fine without any problems.
Why is it saying my connection is not working when it really is? How did I get rid of this message?
Probably you need to uninstall the software to eliminate that problem.

The iPad keeps giving me an error that it is unable to verify the update due to not being connected to the internet, but I am. I have tried power cycling the iPad, disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet... None of which has any effect. Any ideas?
1. Close all the applications (double click home button and close the running applications.
2. keep the home+power button pressed till the time device reboot automatically.
ones rebooted go to settings-> general -> software update.
it should check for the latest update 7.1 which you can download and install. -
What do I do to correct this problem? I've also used the restore feature on the computer to an earlier date, but still no change.
Is there a firewall or virus scanning software issue? Disable those and see if it helps. Try resetting the router
-
It downloaded fine, but when I attempt to install it won't verify, saying that I am not connected to the internet when I know that I am! Tried on several wifi connections while plugged into power source. Any advice is appreciated!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

How do you restore an ipod shuffle when it keeps saying that iTunes is not connected to the internet?
I would try the router reset. That's sadly all I got.

Have you restarted your computer after installing the additional content?
How many drummers do you see, when you select a patch for a Drummer Track?
If the inapt purchase has been installed, you should now be seeing 18 drum patches and not only SoCal:
Also, if you open the "Lesson Store" view, there should be now several free basic guitar and piano lessons available for download. -

After installing Lion on my mid 2010 macbook pro 13" (7,1) I went to download extra voices and every time i am met my the message, "The voice ....(dots are where the name of the voice) can't be installed now because you are not connected to the internet."
I then installed Lion on a 2011 13" macbook pro (8,1) and was able to download voices straight away. Is there a bug with the voices with 2010 macbook pros and is there a way round this problem or am i going to have to wait for Apple to release a fix for it?Thank you a billion times over - I never would have figured that out, and certainly would not have a hair left on my head if you handn't taken the time to post the solution!

Garage band says that I'm not connected to the internet.
after finishing the download, it says that i need to be connected to the internet to download, but I'm already connected. And then it closes and when I rerun it, it starts the 40min download again. And gives the same message. Everytime.
See this thread -
It says this everytime I try to download the new content:

So my friend had my iPod and he disabled it to where it said "iPod disabled connect to iTunes" but my computer will not connect to iTunes and I really need to know if there's a way I can restore my iPod?
Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
WiFi signal shows that it's not connected to the internet, but WiFi does work.
As you can see, it's not working the way it should. I took this snapshot just before I started typing this. I don't know if it's something I did, or a program, or something else, but it happened sometime a few months ago. I never bothered to ask because I figured it would have been because the system had to be updated, but I'm now running the latest version of Mac OS X Mavericks.
Any ideas on what may have caused the problem and how I can fix it?
Thanks in advance! When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, restart the computer and try again. If there's no change, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Applyand test.
If there's still no connection, and if you have control of the router, compare its settings to Apple's recommendations. Some third-party routers may be incompatible in 802.11b/g/n radio mode. Try setting the mode to 802.11n only. -

iTunes is a program on your computer, it is not "the Internet". The fact that the program runs has no bearing on Internet connectivity.
Maybe if a little more information was supplied, like version of the Operating system on the computer and version of iTunes, then a little more assistance could be provided. -
I tried to restore my iPhone 3G and I get a message that I am not connected to the internet but, I can barouse on the internet with my search engins.
It's hard to tell what password you are referring to. But my guess is you are being asked for the password to the iPhone's backup you created in iTunes. It sounds like you chose to encrypt the backup.
If that is the case, the following applies:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.
