My little scroll button on top of my older model A1197 mouse works only intermittantly and usually, if at all, only in one direction. ??

This is usually caused by debris building up between the rollerball and the rollers underneath. Sometimes you can free this up by turning the mouse upside down and rubbing the rollerball vigorously on a sheet of paper.

Mighty Mouse scroll button

The scroll button on my Mighty Mouse has stopped functioning. I thought it was perhaps due to a low battery level but a battery change didn't help. I've noticed the battery charge (via iStat Pro) seems to bleed quite quickly on the mouse and I've upgraded my battery choice. I like the Apple mouse pretty well... the only wireless mouse I've owned... and I've grown quite dependent on the scrolling function. Is there a history of these buttons wearing prematurely? Is there a way to "repair" a non-functioning scroll button? I'd hate to lose the mouse by attempting to disassemble something that shouldn't be tampered with. BTW, it's only about 6 months old. From what I've read, Apple will replace a mouse under warranty for this reason, but to avoid the hassle of driving 50 minutes to my nearest Apple store, I just clean my mouse once per week using the damp cloth treatment. So far so good. Once per week, I run a basic maintenance program and afterwards I have to shut down and restart, so while it's shut down, I clean the mouse, the keyboard, the screen, and the case. It only takes a couple of minutes, and I keep the computer looking like new.

How can I remove the scroll buttons on the firefox 4 context menu?

My display is set to 1600x1200 and the apparently fixed size for context menus with scroll arrows at the top and bottom make using firefox 4 a bit inconvenient. Is there any way to eliminate these scroll buttons and revert to the firefox 3 style of context menu?

After quitting firefox and starting it again the stupid scroll arrows are back in the context menu. I'm beginning to hate firefox 4.

It still works on my iPad - is it working on any of your apps e.g. Safari, Mail, Notes, and are you touching right at the top of the screen (I've seen a few other posts implying that the area of the screen that you need to touch isn't quite as deep as it used to be) ? Have you tried a reset to see if it works after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

CreateInsert puts table scroll at the top position

I've found a strange behaviour with ADF Tables with editingMode="editAll":
Clicking the CreateInsert button always puts the table scroll at the top position, which is really annoying. Does anyone know how to solve it?

In my case, rows don't have to be added as the last in the table, just next to the current row. Anyway, your link gave me a clue: use displayRow="selected" in af:table instead of the default value (displayRow="first") turns the selected row always visible, which is exactly what I wanted : )

Scroll Button in sidebar are not displayed correct

only one scroll button in the sidebar at the top and the lower end is displayed. This effect appears also in garageband after the update to iLife 09.
does anybody have the same problem?

Quit iPhoto (and garage band) and delete the iPhoto preference file (do not know if that is good for garage band or not) - "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> con.apple.iPhoto.plist - launch iPhoto and reset any personal preferences you have changed and repoint to the iPhoto library if you have moved it

Hi in alot of apps there are buttons that you can scroll them up and
down even in the app list you can scroll the apps to the right and left
There is a code in flash that i can do scrolling buttons(up and down)

You want to scroll... Use a spark scroller? or a spark list? The scroller allow you to scroll vertically, horizontally or both. You place your components inside a vertical | horizontal | tiles group that is linked to that scroller.

JTree scrollbar problem - can't scroll back to top when some nodes hidden

I have a problem which I cannot resolve: I have a JTree which has had 88 rows added to it, and which then has 15 or so rows set to be not visible; when I then scroll to the bottom of the pane I am unable to scroll all the way back to the top using either the scroll button at the top of the bar or the mouse scroll wheel although I can drag the knob to get to the top; using the button or wheel, the scrolling stops somewhat short of the top; via testing I've found that the AdjustmentEvent is not fired when it reaches that point. Anyone seen this before and/or know a way around it?

If the ball in the mouse isn't the problem then try logging into your Guest account and see if scrolling works as expected in that account.

Prev Next Buttons on top of jQuery

I have a scrolling banner and on the left and right of the image I want to place 2 buttons on top of the image that scrolls.
I have coded CSS style position:absolute or even relative, which displays fine if jQuery is not used.
How can I code this to jQuery as the previous and next always sits underneath the image and you cannot see it

I´m trying to do a simple up/down scroll button to control the overflow of a div with text inside it.

Did you try to turn on the ringer on the lateral switch, right on top of the volume switch? You did not mention on your post.

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

I just got a Zen nano plus with scroll button, and don't care much for it. If you don't press it exactly straight, you end up doing something you don't want, and in some cases it's a lot of work to recover (example...in the middle of an 8 hour audiobook, hit the button and accidentally go to the beginning of the file and start the whole book over, with no easy way to get back where you were).
My preference is the system used on Cowon's F...a little button/joystick in the center of a 4-button touch pad, and the functions of the joystick can be modified in the player setup (so if you push it the wrong way, it goes back/forward 30 seconds instead of to the beginning of the file or the next file).
I have friends who have not bought the Zen specifically because of the scroll button, so I'm not the only one who thinks it's not the best.
