My location bar disappeared...how do I get it back?

My daughter was on my computer and hit something, now my location bar is gone and all of my emails cant be read because "Bing pops up over my emails...I have to hit "reply" to read them.. HELP!

It is gone in the new version of Safari and the Safari in Mountain Lion. You cannot get it back.
Search is now done inside the adress bar, so you did not lose the search functionally. The location has changed.

The search bar and address bar are combined (i.e., there aren't 2 separate entry areas).
The Safari View menu has a Hide/Show Toolbar command.
Right click (Control click) on toolbar will bring up a Customize Toolbar command and from there you can drag the default set (or just the address/search bar) back onto the toolbar.

Thanks Roger I can now see the name of the website and if I right click on the name it shows me the web address. I used to be able to see the web address e.g. "https//google.co.uk" in this bar without having to right click on the name, is there a way of bringing this back?

under the "view" menu open custimixze toolbar. Then drag those from that list back up to your tool bar.

What on earth makes you think that? He's posted in the Windows category of the Safari community. He has never mentioned Mac OS. He said Safari was installed on his PC in his very first post. You've got this one very badly wrong from the beginning right through to now, and in that context the implication that he was trying to get advice here on how to do something illegal was not only wrong, but insulting.

I think it's something you'll want to make sure is turned on in settings.
This is found deep in settings < privact < locations services < system services < frequent locations. That needs to be turned on.

Use View -> Status bar ; and click on it so the tick/check mark appears.
Note in the next version firefox 4 the status bar is being replaced see [[What happened to the Status Bar?]], and if you want something similar you will then need to use an add-on.

In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).
