My location bar has dissappeared, what do i do?

i cant enter email addresses or pressthe "back" button.

* If, on Windows, in Firefox 3.6 the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down or press F10, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear
* Go to "View > Toolbars" and check-mark "Menu Bar" with a click on it to make that permanent. See [[Menu bar is missing]]).
* Make sure that you have the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window
* If you see the missing item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window onto one of the toolbars.
* If, in "View > Toolbars > Customize", you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button

Just to be clear, it's not below the tab bar either? (That's the new style in Firefox 4 and 5.)
To hide or show toolbars, you can use the old View menu.
If you have the orange Firefox button, tap the Alt key to temporarily display the classic menu bar.
View menu > Toolbars > ''check'' Navigation Toolbar
If you are viewing the navigation toolbar but it's incomplete or corrupted, you can reset your toolbars.
View menu > Toolbars > Customize
In the large dialog with the icons, toward the bottom, click Restore Default Set.

My location bar has stopped auto completing and I have not changed anything on my machine. It works for perhaps the first two tries of the day and then stops auto-completing

Recently my location bar stopped autocompleting. I cleared my cache but it did not help. it seems to work the first few times when i start Firefox , but then stops. If I quit and restart Firefox, the same thing happens. I have tired checking it after my computer has been shutdown for the night (which I do about once a week), and also after it goes to sleep (which I do frequently).

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

when i type something in the location bar(e.g. type abc, it will show some option of www.abc.com/something or www.something.com/abc, make abc as a keyword of search), the search will be seaching through the history & bookmark(without keyword seeting for the bookmark) and one day this fuction just disappeared, how to enable it again?

My location bar has been messed with and i don't know how to reverse it

I let my cousin use my computer, and she was playing on her IMVU game. She managed to install the IMVU Toolbar Addon, which i promptly deleted once she had left, however my location bar is now IMvU Themed, and i can't get rid of it.
Whenever I type anything in location bar, rather than going to the web adress, it searches it on an IMVU search engine, powered by google.
I've gone through all of the preference tabs, the tool tabs, and i don't know what i can do to get rid of it.

I can't think of any more details, but I used to have normal Firefox with a location bar, and now I don't. At the top of my page I have "most visited" and a tab bar. At the bottom I have "secure search". I'm having to get to all URLS by searching for them.

My search or URL bar has disappeared, what do I do to get it back

I had used a click and move method to add to favorites and my URL / search bar has disappeared how do I get it back. I have updated all soft ware. If I open a new user on my computer it is ther but not in the main user area.

My location bar has stopped recognising my history or bookmarks and does not autocomplete any websites

I have disabled all add-ons, and upgraded to the most recent version of FF. If I go to my History library, my full browsing history is there and I have a lot of bookmarks. The problem is the location / address bar does not auto-complete, and nothing happens when I click on the drop down arrow at the RHS of the address bar... any help would be brilliant as extensive googling hasn't provided a solution!

Location bar has no dropdown

Since updating to 4.0 the dropdown button on the far right of the location bar is no longer working. None of the troubleshooting area seems to help. I've installed 4.0 on another machine and this isn't an issue on that machine.

Locator option has dissappeared from the Settings

I can't turn it off and the battery runs out too quickly.

Upon opening a new window, Firefox 9.0.1 gives me a "Go to a website" message in the location bar, regardless of what site I'm at and doesn't display the URL I am looking at, and the stop/reload button is greyed out. Is there a way to fix this?

I am running Firefox 9.0.1 in a windows 7 environment. This is a problem that I had with Firefox 8, as well, though it was only when I opened my home page, not any new window.
I prefer new window viewing to tabbed viewing and when I click a link to and a new browser window opens, all of my basic control buttons (forward, backward, stop/reload) are greyed out except home.

Refresh button is missing from location bar and bookmarks toolbar is blank when I first start FF30

When I start Firefox 30, my bookmarks toolbar is blank. I have to deselect it in View > toolbars then reselect it and they appear.
Also my refresh button at the far right of the location bar has disappeared and all I see is a magnifying glass.
Another issue I now have is that when I copy and paste the URL for any page into the location bar, this then triggers a Google search and doesnt go directly to the page associated with the URL.
I have tried renaming the FF profile and uninstalling/reinstalling FF but this hasnt resolved.
Any pointers to what my next step should be would be most welcome.

Thanks for the reply, however this didnt help me because you didnt tell me where to find the setting "hide urls stop/reload button", and i couldnt find it myself.
However I did resolve the issue myself by disabling addons one by one and reenabling them til I discovered the culprit.
The culprit as i discovered was the Classic Theme Restorer, which has now been duly disabled and will not be used again.

My Location/Search Bar has no memory. It does not remember what I type in.

I guess I would call it the "Google.com" Web Site. It is the horizontal bar/box in the middle of the screen (not at the top). Whenever I would do a Google Search, whatever name I typed in that box would stay there until I manually deleted it. Now, nothing stays in that box. Can you figure out why?

To change this, click on the three-bars icon in the top right corner and choose "customize". You can then drag any part of firefox (including the location bar and search bar) to wherever you want. You should see the location bar in either the set of buttons on the left, or the menu on the right, and you can drag it into the top of the window.
If the location bar is there but short, you can change that as well. Click and drag on the space between the location and search bars to change the width of the two.
The article [[Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars]] also has instructions on how to do this.
