My location services screen has a haze over it which prevents me from making any changes.

MY location services screen has a haze over it which prevents me from using any of the slide switches, any suggestions?

Quit the Settings app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

It sounds like a bit of a mess and what you may need is an onsite PC tech to do some maintenance on your PC.
Also, learning to properly use punctuation (particularly periods) might not be a bad idea. As it is, your post was very hard to read.
    Good luck!

  • Frozen warning located at upper left corner of pages app which says "There aren't any warnings for this document".

Frozen warning located at upper left corner of pages app which says "There aren't any warnings for this document". Cannot seem to be able to close this window. It interferes with my ability to use pages, as it always remains in front of all documents I am working on. Any suggestions on how to remove this frozen warning?

Usually it is not frozen as such it is just waiting for you to click on OK somewhere.
Check if there isn't a button or window somewhere or whether Enter will clear it.

  • When i turn on my ipod I can't get get past the location services screen? How do I get back to settings etc?

When I turn on my ipod and slid to unlock the screen showing is Location Services and what ever I do I can't move no form this screen Help?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT201412 downloaded navfree does not appear in list of apps in location services on iphone 4s. therefore cannot turn on gps for this app. any ideas?

Hi, I'm trying to use the navfree app on my iphone 4s. it downloads and shows in the list of apps, but when I tryt to get the gps working, following instructions, this app does not show up in the list of location services. When I try to open navfree, it remains on screen for a second then closes. What am I doing wrong? Thanks,

I have the same problem.... and it all started straight after the last and latest ios update.  Have done all the resets on the phone....  have just competed a full reset through itunes.... and still it does not work.  THe same problem is also happening with some other apps.
seems a very poor ios update

  • Trying to turn on location services for running app, but all app names greyed out and won't change?

    Hi all
Would really appreciate a hand. I'm wanting to track my running using an app which uses GPS to follow my route. The app told me I needed to turn on location services for that app through settings > general > location settings. I can see the names of all the apps there (some set to on, some set to off) going through the privacy menu but everything is greyed out. How do I turn it on?
    Thanks in advance

yep, unfortunately can't reset without the passcode either.
With regards to doing a restore, do you mean:
    open itunes on my computer
click on my device on the left
    go to the device summary
    click restore
it then asks if i want to back up before i restore (to which i say no)
then it asks me if i'm sure I want to restore to factory settings and that all of me media and data will be erased and replaced with the newest version ( to which I say yes)
then it takes about 90 mins to do this but when I look at my phone, everything is exactly the same.
Am I missing something? Obviously I'm technologically challenged, but I HAVE to get to the bottom of this!

  • Had to restart information store service. Caused by throttling?? Event ID 1010 from ManagedAvailability, any where else to look for error logs?

For some reason we had to restart the information store service. So far I came up with these logs from the

    Hi,
Based on this event log, I find the error “Error=Microsoft.Exchange.Cluster.Replay.AmDbMoveOperationNotSupportedStandaloneException” and error “Error: This operation is not supported on standalone mailbox servers.”
This error seems that there is unsupported configuration in your Exchange deployment.
I will be very glad to help if you explain your Exchange server deployment for more details.
    Thanks.

  • Sign in to download from the App Store screen has the wrong Apple ID- grayed out. How can I change it?

When I have a software update notification and I go to the 'Updates" tab of the App Store and click 'update',  the flash screen 'Sign in to download from the App Store comes up the the Apple ID is wrong and grayed out so I can't change it.  Where is the bogus Apple ID stored? How can I 'ungray' it to make it editable?
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on an IMAC 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • IMac running Mountain Lion, start up screen has grey bar at bottom which when full Mac turns off.

    Mac won"t start

Your Mac is attempting to start in Safe Mode, when it does this if it takes a long time and fails this indicates you may have a HD problem. You did not complete a profile so we have no idea what version of OS X is installed. However I would recommend you run Apple's Hardware Test in extended modeat least 3X back to back. If any errors appear this has confirmed you have a hardware problem. The next step is to take the machine to your local Apple Store or AASP.
Finally if you want additional help please fully complete your profile. You can find instrucitons for doing so at:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3602

  • My iphoto icon has a ? over it and will not open.  Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? Library seems to be missing too.

Go to the Applicaitons folder and if the iPhoto application is there drag it to the dock again.  Remove the previous icon. If there is no iPhoto application in the Applications folder do a search for iPhoto.app to see if it's in a subfolder or  elsewhere.  If it is move it back to the Application folder.
If there is no iPhoto application on the hard drive then you'll have to reinstall iPhoto from the source it came on originally, i.e  the disks that came with your Mac or an iLife disk that you purchased.
If you purhased iPhoto from the App Store you'll need to download it from there again.  However, your profile indeicates Snow Leopard and that is insufficient to run the latest iPhoto from the App Store (Mt. Lion requried).
