My location services tab wont give me option of turning on?

tying to check in . says location services are disabled...gone into main menu generel-location services but the on off button does not give me option of moving it or even light up?

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide (Appendix B), as needed:
Restart phone
Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

I am recently upgrade on ISO 6 on my Iphone 4 and noticed this service toggle in Settings > Privacy > Location Services
Any ideas?

I have the exact same thing. What is even more troubling is that I turned it off, and this morning I just checked and it is back to "on".
I upgraded from a Jailbroken 5.1.1... I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Unfortunately you cannot enable it remotely. It has to be done on the device itself.

Please help, itunes wont give me option to sync from my iphone

I have an iphone 4s and I just downloaded itunes on my hp with windows and the new itunes doesnt give me an option to sync my mnusic library onto my computer from my iphone. ive tried restarting it and unplugging it and they dont give me any options!

iTunes will only transfer music purchased from the iTunes store from your phone to your iTunes library. To do that, authorize your computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the music in Store>Authorize This Computer, then connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
Music from other sources on your phone (such as from ripped CDs) must be extracted from your phone using 3rd party software such as Touch Copy (PC or Mac) or PhoneView (Mac only).
If your iTunes library is still on your old computer, the best solution is to copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the music folder) from your old computer to your new one, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.

Location services - can't start

Hi,
i have a Iphone 4s with OS 7.1 installed.
The problem i have is that i can't attivate a "location services" at all
There is option in Settings > Privacy > Location services - to switch it off/on but slider is gray and not active and can't do anything with it
Any suggestions ?

Have you enabled parental controls?
Look in 'Settings app > General > Restrictions' to see if it is active.
You will need to enter the PIN to unlock the restrictions.
If it is isn't that reboot & recheck it. Location services uses cellular, wifi, GPS and Bluetooth so if they are also restricted you may not be able to use change it's state.

When Location Services are turned off, does Find My iPhone still count as turned on?

Let's say I use iCloud, so I turned on Find My iPhone.
But, I like to save battery, so I turn Location Services off while Find My iPhone is enabled, and I understand completely that if Lost Mode is enabled, then Location Services are turned on and enable Find My iPhone.
Scenario:
I go traveling. I lose my phone. It gets stolen. Location Services were turned off (I like to save battery). If the thief were to try to restore the phone, would he/she get a message saying "Find My iPhone is enabled. Please turn it off before restoring this iPhone."? OR, since Location Services are off, would the restore go on ahead without any confirmation?
This scenario is assuming I don't activate Lost Mode before the thief can plug the device into his/her computer and attempt a restore.
So when Location Services with Find My iPhone enabled are turned OFF, would Find My iPhone still be considered ON and therefore, give a confirmation message before any restoration?
I just want to verify that I'm still secure even when I turn off Location Services to save battery.

Mavericks Calendar App - Location Services

The calendar app doesn't appear in the Location Services tab in Privacy under System Settings > Security & Privacy so I can't enable it to use things like Travel Time for meetings. The only app listed is Maps. How do i get other apps into Location Services?

In Calendar, have you set up View > Show Travel Time from the menu?
By the way, I have not only Maps and Celendar, but also Safari in System Preferences > Security & Privacy. My guess is Safari got added because I used Find My Mac from Safari to locate my MacBook Air.

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.

My app uses location services in the background.
I'm turning the location services on for short time intervals, trying to keep the battery power.
I'm not using any significant location monitoring nor region monitoring.
Everything works as expected till the phone is shut off. After the phone shuts off and reboots, my app is automatically launched, but then a weird thing happens - my app tries to stop location updates but fails - and also the location service arrow indication is on all the time.
I've checked the device console logs, usually those message are shown:
Mar 25 11:56:53 locationd[46] <Notice>: Location icon should now be in state 'Inactive'
Mar 25 11:58:06 keran locationd[46] <Notice>: Location icon should now be in state 'Active'
indicating that the icon should be turned off, but after a device reboot these logs don't appear when calling stopUpdatingLocation.
I've checked thoroughly that the stopUpdatingLocation command is reached and called.
This behavior was reproduced with a iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.2, as well as with another iPhone 4 device running a 6.1 version.
Please help, this is preventing me from releasing my app.

Thanks! Based on that, I was able to figure out the culprit, it appears to be Around Me. However, now I'm confused. I've also got Facebook and a few other apps that are set to always as well, but they aren't tracking my location now. Why not? It looks like never is self-explanatory, while using is while you have the app running whether or not it's in the background, and always is always, but Around Me is the only app tracking my location right now, even though there are at least 3 other apps that also have the location tracking set to always.
