Warranty and support is only valid in the country of origin. The only exception being the EU where a device bought in any EU country can get warranty or service in any EU country.
Warranty is determined by device (serial number), no documentation required.
Apple does not repair devices, they replace them. For that reason, ensure the device is backed up and any pictures take with the device are copied off the device prior to going in for service. -

i updated my iphone 5 to 6.1.2 and my lock button will not work anymore and idea what i can do to fix this or what i can do to get it fixed
I'm having similar issues with my phone. I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year. Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas. When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore. I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting. That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore. I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router. When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there. Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.

If this does not resolve the problem, I would sound more like a hardware based issue.
I would recommend that you contact AppleCare so they can run further tests and diagnostics to help you solve your solution better.
If you can also access an Apple Store Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Center, that would be much better.

Stuck on apple logo, lock button does not work
Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me.
I have an iPhone 5, and I intend to restore it in order to sell, but every time I try to turn it on, the battery life is low and in the red, and then it is stuck on the Apple logo for ages. My lock button does not work either so I can't actually turn it on properly, or do anything. I leave it plugged in the charger for hours, and it's still stuck on the Apple logo. And when I unplug and let it sit until it dies again, the process repeats...
What is happening? What can I do?You can have it repaired or look up a guide and repair it yourself. The lock button needs to be replaced. It is essential at least for performing resets, like the one your phone needs right now. There may be an issue with the battery as well. I would not purchase an iPhone that did not have all its buttons working properly. The iPhone may not be draining enough to completely reset. Draining the battery this much might damage the battery as well. You probably need to do a reset by holding down the home button and a properly working lock button.

There is nothing you can do except take it back to the US. The warranty is not international and no authorized service center will touch your US phone in India.

After I updated to iOS 7.0.2 my lock button is not working properly I push the button many times and after many failed attempts it locks and sometimes not. I had to use the accesibility tool to lock it manually from the screen, this is really annoying.

Will Apple replace my iPhone 5 for free if the lock button is not working properly?
My iPhone 5 was bought in March 2013 and broke in January 2014 so I still have a few months left on my one year warranty.
My lock button did not get stuck or jammed, but all of a sudden it just would not work. I don't notice anything different about it and it still makes a "click" noise when I press it but, it wont do anything or respond to anything. Clearly something is wrong with it and I am not sure why.
I have my assessive touch ON but I would rather use my lock button.
If I bring it into Apple will they replace it for FREE if my one year warranty isn't over and my lock button just will not respond to me pressing it?

In my experience,, if it is truly just a faulty button, then they will fix it but the tech will make that determination after inspection. -

My partner AND my Lumia 900's Lock Screen have ceased to function as well. I even went as far as doing a "master reset" and it did nothing but lose all my pix and info (Thank God for SkyDrive!) I have a real security concern now, and I cannot leave my phone ANYWHERE unattended at ANY TIME as there is no safeguard to "lock the screen to prevent unauthorized use". I've brought this to both Nokia's and AT&T's attention, but, as usual, it's fallen on deaf ears. This and a "couple other antics" (volume is wacky now as well, both phone conversations and listening to music: BEFORE the 7.8 update, everything worked just fine, now the volume will NOT go over "10" on a scale of "30" for a phone conversation, and will not exceed "17" in volume on a scale of 3"30" when listening to music. When a voice message comes in, the volume is SO low that I actually have to place to phone over my ear canal to hear it.......
