Hi All,
My lock button not working from last 2months, I am using assistive touch for time being.
I bought my mobile in UK 1year back, currently i am staying in India.
My real problem is, recently i visited apple store. The guys in the store are saying, it is against to their law to serve or repair mobiles which were bought in other country..
I think this is rediculous.. Just i need some information how to fix it or how to contact the correct person regarding this POOR service.

No. The warranty is only valid in the country of purchase. All service for iPhones in UAE is provided by the supported carriers. You can find a list here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937
If you did not purchase it from one of the carriers listed, then you probably purchased an illegally imported gray market phone.
Check Settings>General>About. What does it say for Model #?

Yesterday my lock button stopped working. I still have my warranty but the problem is I live in Belgium and there is no Apple Store there. Is there any way I can get my phone repaired without having to go abroad? I'm now using Assistive Touch but it just doesn't feel the way it should...

To get any iOS device repaired much be done so in country of where th device was purchased. So if where you live is where you purchased the device then contact Apple Support whcih is given for your area of livinging.
If the iOS device was not purchased where you live, then willl need to figure out how to go about getting to where the iOS device was purchased to get repair done for it.

I have a iPhone 5 and about a month ago my lock button stopped working. It takes me about ten tries to power it back on or to lock it. If I'm still in my one year warranty will I have to pay to get it fixed? I didn't purchase apple care though so I'm wondering if it's going to cost me to get it fixed or if it's still covered because of the one year warranty? Thank you!

If it's due to a manufacturing defect, the warranty will cover it. If it's due to accidental damage, it'll cost to get it fixed unless it happened during an authorized repair.

Hi my lock button started working intermittently but now has stopped working completely. When in use it get very hot and when charging its so hot u can't touch it. Unsure what to do as only had iPhone 5 since march.

Your phone is still under warranty. Bring the phone to Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

IPhone home and lock buttons not working at all?

I got my iPhone 4 in October 2010. Since then I have accidentally dropped it on the floor and the back cracked, and in April 2011 I accidentally dropped it in a tub of paint. A bit silly, I know, but I managed to get all of the paint off quite easily and it was fine. However, at the end of last year, the home button started to malfunction and get stuck and just generally not work. In the past few weeks I've noticed I get trouble with it at least once a day and have to sit and press it until it works. Then, today, just out of nowhere, the lock/power button at the top of my phone just stopped working, it's stuck. I don't really have a way to wake my phone now unless I press the home button until it works, and I can't lock it anymore. I don't know whether it would be anything to do with the paint, considering it happened a year ago. Is there anything I can do to get it working again or do I need to take it to Apple?

Ok this Might work
1- Try rubbing your home button with alchohol ( or perfume ) in a circular motion for about 20 seconds
2 - do the same to ur power button ( from left to right and repeat ) for about the same duration
3- press and hold both your power and home button at the same time ..
... If this doesnt work try it one more time
If it doesnt respond after the second time i'm afraid u'll have to take it to an apple care center :(

Urgent!! Need your Help! iPhone stopped working and Lock Button Not working

Lock button on phone has not been working for 6 months (me being lazy, never got it sorted). Now today, I took my phone out of my pocket and it had shut down. Black screen. Cant turn it on because button broke. doesnt respond when i plug into my computer or on charge.
Desperate for help please!!! Need my phone! got very important info on it and alot of baby pictures of my son which arent backed up (again, my fault for being lazy)

IPhone 5 Lock Button not working help?

I brought an iPhone 5 in October 2012, and my lock screen button is not working. Sometimes, my phone does not turn on or turn off unless I press the button 3 or 4 times. I did not buy apple care and I don't think I am under warrenty anymore so will they still be able to replace my phone?

You can make an appointment and they will examine the phone. Since you are out of warranty, then more than likely they would not make a warranty replacement, but you can purchase an out of warranty replacement for a price less than the cost of a brand new phone. In the US, the replacement cost for the iPhone 5 is $269US.

IPhone 5 lock button not working all the time

Basically I can only press the left side of the lock button for it to work. The middle and right side do not work.

Nobody knows what iOS a replacement unit is running, only employees of the Apple Service Centre. But one thing for sure is that they are usually running anything before iOS 6.1.3,

Ipad 2 lock button not working after screen replacement

I replaced the screen of Ipad2. Afterward, the power button is only working when I turn it on or off, but did not work for locking the screen neither with assistive touch. And another issue is when the divece is rebooted, after the apple logo desepears normally we can see the start screen, but in this case the screen stays black after the apple logo desepears untill I pushed the home button. (IOS 7.1.2)

If you replaced the screen through a 3rd party or yourself, you have void all warranty and support.
If it's a 3rd party or Apple, bring it back.

I got the phone through Verizon back in October, so it should still be under warranty right? The lock button just started to not work, I have to press it again and again, even then sometimes it won't lock. I also don't live in an area where there's an apple store anywhere near me. Lock button not working

My lock button of my iphone 5 has not been working for quite some time. For some reason I thought there was only a 3 month warranty on hardware issues, so I never had this fixed. I recently found out it is still under warranty, so I am going to go in and get it fixed. I had this same issue about a month after buying my 5 last year, and they replaced my phone within 20 minutes. Given that there are scratches, small dents from my keys etc. will they still replace my phone? It is well known that the lock button malfunctioning is a hardware defect in the iphone 5, so I assume they would still replace it regardless of scratches?
Also, now that the 5 is discontinued, how do they go about replacing them?
