Volume and Lock buttons stopped working after new iOS 4.3.3 update (ipod 4th gen)

After I updated my ipod with the iOS 4.3, the volume and lock buttons stopped working.
This has happened before and it'sprobably one of the most annoying problems ever.
The lock button tends to stop working but then works again only when it wants to, but the volume buttons dont work at all.
When the locked button worked again I turned it off and turned it on again, but it didnt fix the problem.
I've pretty much tried everything that I've read and nothing seems to work.
So now, I don't know what to do.
Should I take it to a random apple store or to where I bought it from?
It seems that it's happening to almost everyone, so at least I'm not the only one and maybe someone can help me out

If you have restored in iTunes on a computer and the problem remains then it's a hardware fault and it needs to be repaired. When you update the iOS version on an iOS device it checks the hardware components, this is when it'll detect un-diagnosed hardware faults and the components will stop working... even if they were working previously

Wireless works fine though.. Seems to be a common problem with this unit. Would ahve been better off with my old airport extreme, I ahve had for five eyars, but it no longer hs enough capacity.

It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:

Nobody here can possible speak for Apple whether it is a warranty failure or not. You need to take it into an Apple store or send it to Apple and have them evaluate it. If they decide it is a warranty failure and you are still within your warranty period, then yes, it will be replaced with a factory refurbished unit for free.
If it is determined to be due to something you have done, then the warranty does not apply and you would have to pay the out of warranty replacement fee.

What you are describing sounds more like a hardware issue than a software issue. Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local apple retail store and have the device evaluated.

I have an iPhone 4 and my home and lock button stopped working today randomly at the same time. I have had assistive touch set up for a while but that also won't work. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I only got it Febuary/March this year.

if the device I connected have caused this, shouldn't the macbook itself have some type of protection that should prevent this from happening.
because when I took it to an apple certified maintenance shop, the guy said that now it could only run while connected to the power. it won't run on batteries. and that I have to change the motherboard.
can I just replace the damaged part only, would apple consider this as a design issue and they could pay for it, or should I just buy a new motherboard for 800$.

The problem is in finding a tech shop that will/can do board level repairs on Macs. They are few. And I certainly wouldn't spend $800 on a new logic board - I would replace the computer if I had to pay that much!
You could call around to a few repair shops and see if they feel competent to isolate the problem and do a board level repair - but I'm afraid, in the end, that your search will be futile.

First USB port stops working after random time and won't work until I restart

Hey guys
I have this problem on my late 2011 Macbook Pro 13 inch,
It's been for a year already and it really freaks me out and drive me crazy
My first USB port next to the thunderbolt stops working after like 3 days, and it won't respond until I restart my computer or log off and log in again.
If I restart my computer, USB stops working after 3 days and won't respond until I restart
If I log off it works for like a couple of hours and then stops again
I have tried EVERYTHING, SMC reset - no luck, PRAM reset - same results, Upgraded to lion same results, Upgraded to mountain lion - SAME RESULT
And I can't take it to an apple store because I'm not from the US
I am 100% sure this is a software problem and I've seen here that many people have faced this problem
Please help, it really freaks me out

I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear but unless you really are using your laptop 24 hours a day, is there any reason why you don't just shut it down and reboot when you're ready to use it again? I have to wonder how many other MacBook Pro owners potentially have the same problem but when they quit computing for the day, their computers quit too.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. I had an appointment this morning with Apple to try and solve the problem with my lock button ranomly not working anymore and a few hours before my appointment with the Apple store i was using my phone and my screen randomly went black and stopped working. And the p.roblem now i cant use it. I tried restarting the phone but I can't restart it due to my lock button not working so i need help with a solution on what i can do. I missed my appointment today because i could no longer use my phone and i'm now stuck using my laptop. I did also try connecting it to my MacBook but the screen was still unresponsive and black. I rescheduled my appointment to Monday to see what is wrong with my button and screen but in the meanwhile i would like to know if there is anything i can do or if i would just have to wait until monday and take it in to Apple. Any help would be really appreciated as i am phonelss for now until i take it in to Apple in a few days. Thanks.
