My Logik card reader isn't showing up on my desktop

I have a Olympus memory card for my camera (MS card) and cannot fit it into the memory card slot of my MacBook Pro. I have used a Logik card reader (which is compatable with Mac) and connected it into a USB port. My reader has a green light to say it is connected but I cannot find it anyway on my finder or desktop. Does anyone have any ideas where to find the card reader on my Mac?

Check all the items in Finder > Preferences > General tab > to show on the desktop. Do the same in the Sidebar tab if desired.

The issue is related with software, to resolve this you need to re-install the card reader driver from the below mentioned web link.

TS2634 My friends sd card reader no longer shows the pictures after updating to ios 7, is there a fix?

My friend has an ipad, and after updating to ios 7.0.2 the sd card reader that came with it no longer shows the pictures... just squares where the pictures would be. Is there a way to fix this?

Sd card reader does not show up as a external hard drive any were on my mac

i have a sd card reader that is run through usb. i plug it in whit my card in it that has files on it but the driver does not show up any were not on the desktop not any were ive gone through the trouble shooting on apples sight but no luck. any one have a idea?
the weird part about it is that it worked a few weaks ago no problem like i would just plug it in and it would show up on my desktop

It seems that Intel Macs have problems seeing (the media in) some USB storage devices.
For example I have a Zynet CR-T1-U28 8-in-1 memory card reader. It works A-OK on an old Powerbook running 10.3.9, and on several PPC-based newer machines running 10.4.10. The cards I've tried in it mount immediately and show up on the desktop (and iPhoto starts automatically if appropriate).
However none of the FAT-formatted cards I've tried will mount on any Intel-based machine I've tried it on (all have been running 10.4.10).
Here's how it shows up on my Macbook:

Interestingly one kind of card I've tried, a Sandisk M2 card, the 64 MB card shown on the powerbook, mounts A-OK when it's in my Z710i phone and is connected via USB to the macbook. At first I thought the card reader could be at fault, but given the number of (admittedly vague) reports I've seen here today about similar problems with other devices I'm more inclined to blame some driver or kernel problem on Intel macs.
The following showed up for the first time ever in the console log during today's test to get the System Profiler data:

Importing into Lightroom with card reader doesn't show previews

I am using Lightroom 2.4 with Adobe 5.4 Raw on a Windows XP based laptop -- however the problem I am having also presents on my desktop which also uses Lightroom 2.4 with Adobe 5.4 and Windows XP. In fact the issue is completely the same on both computers: When I try to import photos directly into Lightroom using a card reader, the interface opens, but does not show the previews -- and yes, the show preview box is checked. The preview boxes are there, but they are completely greyed out. If I use the same card reader but direct it to open into Photoshop Elements it shows the previews and it also shows them in Bridge for CS4. So clearly the problem doesn't lie with the computer or card or cardreader. It seems only in Lightroom that the previews do not show up. Adobe raw supports my camera which is set to shoot raw and it also makes a JPG copy, but neither show up.
I spent more than an hour with a tech trying to get this to work and didn't solve the problem. I'm hoping that someone has some bright ideas that will help me out.

I tried to respond before, but I think the message didn't go through. Sorry. Because my Lightroom hasn't been working the way it is supposed to, I have been doing what you suggest -- saving the photos from my card reader to a file through Bridge -- which does open the previews -- and then importing them to Lightroom. But it means one extra step and Lightroom's strength is supposed to be work flow, so I would like to get it to work properly. I think that if the card reader were faulty -- and the problem occurs with several different card readers -- that it wouldn't show the previews in Bridge or even Photoshop Elements, which it does. So I think there is some problem with Lightroom, not the card reader. Any other suggestions? I'd be happy to know about them. Meanwhile, thanks for your reply.

Card Reader won't Show Up!!!

HELP!?! All of a sudden my SanDisk Imagemate won't show up on my desktop when I insert my compact flash card. Usually it pops up on my desktop and iPhoto also opens but today.... nothing. I've even tried restarting because that usually solves the problem. Any ideas or suggestions? I haven't done anything new or different.
It worked fine last week, I downloaded over 400 pics.
(It does show up as connected when I check "about this computer")

I have a Canon EOS 20D. I found out on the Canon web site that there is a firmware update that addresses communication problmes with compact flash cards. However, they want me to copy the update to the disk and then onto the camera. But, until I see the disk in my Mac, I can't copy the firmware update.
Any clues would be a big help.

New try - 201X 5-1 media card reader isn't recognizing SDHC - Help!

I am trying to get it to read a 16g SDHC card, and nothing happens. I go to device drivers in Control Panel, the media reader isn't listed. I see no-one else having this problem. I go to Lenovo's drivers and all I find is integrated camera and media reader but the update is only for the integrated camera.
I was given this instruction:
Is this the first time you are using the card reader in your ThinkPad? >Ostensibly Yes>
Under your bios menu, under security for I/O, is your card reader disabled? >How do I go about this?
I was also told that under drives in device drivers it should be listed and it is not listed.

maybe try to reinstall the OS, and see whether the card reader is detected. if not then you may want to seek warranty? (if you have warranty left).

SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC/MS/MS Pro card-reader slot not showing up in windows explorer.

I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre, purchased only four weeks ago. It product family is IdeaCentre k410, machine type 10089. Anyhow, the problem is: I inserted a microSD / microSDHC, both of which seem to fit into the slot fine, though neither registers under anywhere in windows explorer, neither in the root of C://, nor in any of the subdirectories, or on the main listing of mounted file systems. I used the Lenovo Driver Updater and re-installed the SD Card Reader driver, to no avail. Any help would greatly be appreciated. As well, the computer runs Windows 8, which has some features I'm unhappy with, and although this is not a windows forum and I don't mean to create a thread that deviates from lenovo-specific topics, I was wondering if there is anything in either the machine architecture or the software of Windows 8 that could hinder m in installing a dual-boot system so that I might have the option of running a variant of linux as a sub-operating system, as I did with windows XP.????? OK any help at all would be so greatly appreciated, thank in advance. I really want to be able to retrieve some writing files I have stored in that micro SDHC card. As another aside, does anyone know the max limit of RAM this computer can take and if it is DDR or some other type?

Regarding your questions:
1. When you inserted the SD card, do you hear a sound that a device is inserted and under Device Manger, do you see a Card Reader?
If not, try to:
a. boot intto the BIOS by pressing F1, load defaults by pressing F9 then press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
b. Reseat the front panel connectors (see page 23 of the hardware maintenance manual)
2. To install linux (i.e. Ubuntu), see if you can install Ubuntu via UEFI. If you're unable to do so or if you want to install other OS, try to:
a. Boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 and set the following settings below
UEFI Boot Mode = Legacy
Secure Boot = Disabled (if applicable)
CSM = Disabled / Legacy or Other OS (if applicable)
OS Optimized Default = Disabled or Legacy (if applicable)
b. When finished, press F10 to save and exit BIOS then try to install Ubuntu via Wubi or insert your Windows installation disc to install a different OS.
3. As per this pdf data sheet, the Lenovo K410 has a max RAM of 8GB PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 but Crucial reports that this unit can take up to 16GB PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 - check this site.

Card reader isn't recognized

the sandisk usb 2.o card reader is supposed to work with OS X but when I attatch it, I get an error mx--device doesn't have enough power...why doesn't it work?

Perhaps you have it plugged into the USB port on the keyboard? There is a relatively low limit to the amount of power it will supply to the device. If so, try plugging it into a USB port on the computer itself.

Internal card reader isn't working

Hi I have a pavilion (p6300uk) desktop with an internal card reader. The card slot recognises the card but the driver wont read it?
Ive gone into the properties for each driver, but they all say the driver is working properly. I have also searched for updates via device manager, but nothing can be found. Also restarting comp does nothing.
Can anyone help

What is the extension of the file on the memory card? A few examples are *.jpg, *.png *.doc (the * can be any alphanumeric characters)
If your OS does not have a program that will read the file extension type, then that might cause you to believe the card reader is not working.
Test with a different SD card in the same slot. Use Windows Explorer to format the card as FAT16 or 32 and then place a .pdf file on the card. If you are able to read the pdf file from the SD card then your card reader is doing what it should.
You can also try reading the card that is giving you issues on another PC or notebook with a card reader to see if it is possible. If it is not possible then perhaps the file(s) on the memory card are corrupt. The case still exists that the file extension must be one which the operating system or a program on the PC is capable of recognizing and reading.

How can I replace a 5 in 1 memory card reader in a HP Pavilion 500-027c Desktop PC

I bought a refurbished HP Pavilion 500-027c Desktop PC computer from walmart 2 weeks ago... The 5-in-1 memory card reader does not work... the device manager says that it is working properly but when I put in a memory card nothing happens... The white light comes on indicating that the memory card has been inserted but the computer does not recognize that anything has been done... I would like to just replace the card reader itself... I see on hp support where it is possible to replace the memory card reader (front I/O), but I don't know where to purchase the actual card reader itself... I don't have any specs on the card reader either.... PLEASE HELP!!!!

HT204384 why does my 16gb SDHC card reads as full, but I can't see the files

I have a SanDisk 30mb/s 16GB SDHC card used with a GoPro HD Hero. When I plug it into my card reader, it DOES show up on my desktop. When I double-click on it, I see the folders, but no files. I know the card is full, and it shows up as full when I press "command i".
How can I get these files?!?

You made the right choice, and is what I guessed was the case. But I've learned to confirm my assumptions; I've been surprised before.
Anyway, hope you get somewhere with your IT folks. If you approach them from the standpoint that you can't ping the server and avoid, at least initially, the "can't mount the server volume" issue, you may have better luck with them. If you can get them to help you to the point where you get a ping through successfully, you may find the other problems go away.
One note: it is possible that they've blocked the ability to ping their network devices, so the failure of the ping isn't completely diagnostic. But it's certainly a symptom to bring up with them; if they are blocking ping, they should tell you that.

Mobilemate usb card reader adapter worked well in Macbk pro. suddenly stopped showing up as a device in finder-it is listed as a device in utilities- how do I get it to show up again?

Can anyone tell me how to get my mobilemate sandisk usb card reader adapter to show up in the finder as a device? Card is good and the adapter was working fine until my boyfriend tried to get it to work in a photo frame. When I plugged it back into my mac bk pro it is not recognized in the finder.
It does show up in the utilities as a usb device.
Does not show up as it had before in Image Capture or Iphoto.
LIke I said it was working in this computer no problem. light is on as if it is reading. card is not locked.

I reformated the disk with an applecare rep this morning. it did not correct the problem.
the card works fine when I insert it directly.
Just trying to find out why the adapter no longer shows up in the finder when it did previously- yesterday.
This is a usb device. Device shows up in system profiler.

HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J104sa Memory Card Reader not working

I took delivery of an HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J104sa running Windows 8.1 this week and the internal memory card reader isn't working. It doesn't recognise any SD cards (I've tried more than one) and continues as if nothing has been inserted; showing no error messages. All of the cards work on my previous HP laptop. The only way to get the laptop to show an inserted SD card is to run the driver update software (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63415.exe) every time an SD card is inserted; this must be done with the card in the reader. If the software is run and then the card is inserted nothing happens. If the card is ejected and then re-inserted (or a new card inserted) it isn't recognised and the process has to be restarted and the driver reinstalled even though nothing has changed.
Can somebody please help me with this issue or I will have to return the laptop to HP. I do a lot of photography so being able to read an SD card quickly and reliably is extremely important for me; it's not a problem I expected from a brand new laptop straight out of the box.

Unfortunately non of the driver updates solved the problem but a BIOS update through the HP Support application seems to have remedied the issue. Whilst I appreciate there were no specific drivers available I find it hard to accept that HP should be able to release a model where they know the hardware will not be fully supported by the OS and in this case not function.
