Basic functions should work, but custom settings/use will most likely not.

  • Mac not starting up after installing Logitech Control Center

    Hello,
Since I installed Logitech Control Center I am not able to start my Macbook.
The single mode revealed issues mentionning Logitech classes. The disk tool is not able to repair the disk.
Booting on a snow leopard CD and using Disk Tool from there gives the same results.
Invalid Node Structure is the given message.
Would you have any idea on how I can fix this?
At least is there any way to backup some files? (I didn t succeed to copy/paste files in the Disk Tool)
Thank you in advance for your help!

It likely that DiskWarrior or Drive Genius might repair it.
Other than that, get an external drive, install OSX on it, boot with the Option/alt ket held down, & on 1st boot from the external & putting your info in, avail yourself of the Migration Assistant offer, se how much it can migrate off your internal drive.

  • Does Logitech Control Center crash my MacBook?

    Dear All,
just a question - Yesterday I installed the Logitech Control Center (2.2.2) together with my new VX Revolution mouse. Besides the fact that I love this mouse my computer crashed two times in the last two days.
The only option was to switch it off and on again (I never had this before - thanks to Apple!!!)
Did anyone else see a similar problem?
    Thanks a lot
    Albert

Logitech is first and foremost a PC oriented provider. They have really neat toys that we Mac users want. It has been long since known for years Logitech is late in developing for the Mac equivalent or keeping up on updates. But we still suck up all their gear that will even remotely work on our machines and suffer through the mostly antiquated poorly developed software that is sometimes needed to get all the features for your device. I have had the same problems with earlier versions of LCC, but back then it was not as important to have the latest version because the features were the same across many versions and you could find one, I have used many versions that were severely old, that did you the least amount of damage and still get your mouse to work nicely. Even sometimes not even running LCC and letting the Mac Prefs run the device was on the only way to get things to work.
The MX Rev, of which they sent me one (for free) to make up for the 5 MX 1000's that died prior to the ends of there times, I love it. But in the first release the Mac LCC was limited as to how the many services that were available to the buttons, I still muddled on with my cool new toy. A while later I mysteriously received a questionnaire asking what I would like to see in the next (2.2.2) version of the LCC. I mentioned extended and equal options for all buttons and had some personal requests as well. Well in the next, current, release there was what I wanted. Woo Hoo! BUT as with all first releases of the LCC it has its bugs. I have been for the most part, spared any complications due to the LCC and have not had to revert to an earlier version, loosing features. BUT I have been having severe and bizarre OS problems since updating to 10.4.10 and the first place I headed was the LCC and fortunately that was not the problem. As mentioned before Logitech is not always forthright on the up take in maintaining their Mac software and Logitech will say that it is compatible for that OS, but it's the same version as before and was never fully acclimated for the update. I have spoken with their "off shore" tech support and when I was able to finally get my problem across, scrolling in iTunes (7.2 - scrolling reverses at high spin) they were at a complete loss, escalated it and I have yet to hear back. It's been months.
Unfortunately, the only way to get through the problems is to revert, but at the moment you loose many nice and functional features. I have had to contemplate this myself a couple of times. But if I remember, it was listed that you were running 10.4.10. That's your main problem.
SO to get to my point, 10.4.10 has jacked up a lot. I spent a large amount of time reverting many machines back to 10.4.9 or earlier, because 10.4.10 just does not want to play well and has caused many new and very bizarre problems. And this OS reversion was not a typical process. It took at least a 7-Pass wipe to completely clear the drives, otherwise there were files left on the drives that interfered with the new install and you were no better off with the new retro install.
I am marginally back to 10.4.9, mostly limping and currently talking to Apple in detail to investigate what is going on and am running the LCC 2.2.2 with no apparent problems . . . . yet. Or that have been traced to it as a hindrance in my Frankensteined install of 10.4.9.
Since you are running 10.4.10, I would confidently say that there is your problem. Only because I have had many really weird things happen since and after 10.4.10 and reverting to 10.4.9 has carried residual problems that only surfaced in 10.4.10. But LCC 2.2.2 is functioning good for the most part back in 10.4.9. Most to the time they will show the compatibility range of the LCC, but this time, it's "Mac® OSX 10.3.9-10.4.'x'". x = ? The last I saw was that LCC 2.2.2 was only rated to 10.4.9.
I hope this is food for thought can help your investigation, if not help you understand why there may be problem.

  • Remove logitech control center

    Hi All
New to the world of MAC. Can someone tell me step by step exactly how to remove the control center? I just installed a vx nano mouse and I think control center is causing the macbook to crash.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jason

    Hi there,
simply go to Logitech's website, download the "LCC" installer package. Inside the dmg-file you'll find a little program called "Uninstaller" - that's what you're looking for.
    Enjoy!

  • Logitech Control Center and iMacs

Anyone using a Logitech mouse and the Control Center software?
I was using the 2.1.3 version but it may have been the culprit of my frequent kernel panics.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...
It's a VX Revolution notebook mouse.

I added a Logitech VX notebook wireless mouse to my system a few days ago and have started seeing kernel panics when the system is sleeping and I move the mouse to wake it up. I ran the hardware test and it didn't find any problems.

  • Logitech Control Center 2.3.1

Do not install the LCC 2.3.1 recently posted by logitech! Kernel panics on wake from sleep are persisting. On top of that, I experienced a major overall system slow down; responsiveness in dock, scrolling etc went down drastically.
And the best thing... there is no uninstaller provided with the install package. Simply removing all files related to lcc or logitech through spotlight didn't solve a thing. In the end, I downloaded the lcc 2.2 disk image and applied the separate uninstall application on there. One reboot later, everything went back to normal.

Do you have a link to the v2.2 disk image? I also need to uninstall LCC 2.3.1

  • Mail Sort Order and Logitech Control Center 3.1

LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader.osax is a Scripting Addition in /library/scriptingadditions that reproducibly causes the sort order in Mail to revert to Date Received/Newest on Top. With LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader.osax in the Scripting Additions folder, you can change the sort order for a folder, but when you click on another folder and return to the original, the sort order reverts to Date Received/Newest on Top.
Removing LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader.osax and restarting Mail remedies this problem.
Can anyone else confirm this occurs in their system as well (10.6.1)?

I upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6.2) from 10.5 yesterday and noticed this Mail sort problem straight away. Concurrently I upgraded to Default Folder 4.3.3 and LCC 3.1. Following the advice of you guys, I've excluded Mail.app in System Prefs/Default Folder/Settings/Advanced and lo and behold date sort is working normally again.
I mean, I've spent 15 years having most recent at the bottom and it's very wrong to have it at the top!

  • Logitech Control Center (LCC) alternative?

    Hi,
I'm planning to buy the expensive Performance MX M950 mouse, but I wonder if I'll be able to program its several buttons using any other software than LCC, which is quite unstable and has several known issues.
Are there any other lightweight, snow-leopard compatible alternatives to LCC using which I can program my mouse buttons? I already use SteerMouse, will what work with M950, any other app?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, I can uninstall UO but I can't return a $80 mouse (in my country). It'd be practically useless if UO doesn't support it.
Anyone here who use performance MX with UsbOverdrive?

  • Uninstalling Logitech Control Center 3.2 without losing preferences

I installed the latest; buggy version of LCC 3.2 for the mac. I'm on Snow Leopard. I had a similar situation on another mac; where I downgraded to 3.1 but _lost ALL my preferences. I tried to retrieve them using Time machine; but could still not make its data return and had to redo all my settings. Very time consuming. If I downgrade to LCC 3.1; how can I avoid losing my pref files for at least 100 apps...?
    thanks

you should be able to duplicate your preferences folder and save the duplicate as a backup. The folder is at
    /Users/your account/Library/Preferences
Not sure why this wouldn't work with Time machine.
    Hope this helps.

  • Logitech Marble Mouse - Control Center

    Hi,
I recently updated my OS to 10.4.7, and while I've had some recent activity with different mice, I went back to the Logitech Marble Mouse and Control Center, and found the Control Center stopped recognizing the unit. I've tried to remove it via the un-installer and no dice. I also installed SteerMouse, but that will end up costing me $20... I also tried USB Overdrive, and it doesn't seem to work.
Can Anyone recommend any steps to get Control Center back working? The Logitech form seems hard to find any relevant info.
    Thanks!

  • Logitech Mouse (MX 1000), Logitech Control Centre 2.3.1, Leopard and iTunes

I have installed Leopard ever since it came out in Late Oct. On my Mac mini (PPC), I use a logitech mouse (MX1000) with the latest software from Logitech. Everything was fine until this morning, whenever I use iTunes if I move my mouse pointer anywhere near the volume slider, it automatically moves the slider to the far left (no volume). So now I cannot control the volume or even skip tracks because as I mentioned, if the mouse pointer is anywhere near the volume slider it moves the slider.
I am wondering if anyone with a similar setup of mine is experiencing the same problems as me.

    Hi, all!
Just a "me, too" to add to oceans' comments about SteerMouse.
I tried then purchased it recently, primarily because it provides what I consider superior mouse tracking speed/acceleration control for my Apple wireless mouse, well beyond the built-in drivers. When I switch to an older Logitech mouse (OpticalMouse11), SteerMouse enables some handy programmable functions I'd never been able to manage before. Thus, worth it to me... [1]
Of course, the new Logitech Control Center 2.0.0 is free, so I'd suggest trying both to evaluate what provides acceptable performance.
    Regards,
    Dean
[1] I'd guess the tried-and-true USB Overdrive would also be excellent for this case; I simply haven't tried recent versions because Bluetooth support hasn't been added yet. But it's been the favorite of many Mac folks for years.

  • EA6500 - USB Control center - Could not find router when hooked up wirelessly

Not sure if this is the right place but I felt it should be posted somewhere on the internet.
I recently purchased a Linksys EA6500. I decided to try to hookup my printer through the it. I installed the USB Control Center and had some issues with it. It wouldn't detect my router. All I would get is "A compatible router with USB port was not found on your network".
When I hooked up my laptop to the ethernet port I was then able to get a connection to the router with the software. If I left my Wireless connection on while I did this I would unplug my computer ethernet the USB Control Center remained connected until I closed the software. When I reopened it could not see the router again. I tried on another laptop and it was working correctly.
At this point I started my research into the software and noticed in the help menu 2 things.
    1) the software was made by belkin
    2) they had other thing hooked up including keyboard and mice
    http://i.imgur.com/6NAQ5Jv.png
With this information I decided to try to make troubleshooting a bit easier by using a Lenovo Multimedia Remote with Keyboard N5902. I tried it on the second laptop that had no problems first and it kinda worked. The keyboard part worked and the mouse didn't. So I went to the computer that had issues connecting hooked it up via eithernet to test and I blue screened it. The dump file said the "AMD USB Filter Driver" crashed.
This lead me to 3 areas I need to troubleshoot on this laptop.
    1) USB Control center
    2) My Wireless adaptor (Atheros AR9285)
    3) USB Drivers
First thing I did was troubleshoot the AMD USB Filter since that did blue screen. The USB drivers on this computer are a mess. I have the standard A6 chipset drivers, the vmplayer virtualized usb drivers and then the virtual drivers for the USB Control Center. I updated what I could (Still crashed) and in the end used the Catalyst Install Manager to remove the AMD USB Filter driver and the Lenovo N5902 kinda started to work. On this computer the Mouse part worked and not the computer. Not worried because I did not have to run to the printer (wasting paper) and router all the time to keep troubleshooting.
The next thing I did was update my wireless drivers since it was the wireless portion that was having issue and not the ethernet. This did not work.
Finally I came back to the USB Control Center software. The Driver it is using is called "SXUPTP Driver" in the System Devices catagory. There were no downloads availible on the Linksys site for the software so I went to belkin and downloaded there latest version. I installed it and had the same issue. can detect the router wired but not wireless. I then look to the Driver manufacturer, Silex Technologies. They had no product called USB Control Center. Googled SXUPTP and a Microsoft page refed to "SX Virtual Link" made by Silex.
    http://silexamerica.com/campaign/sx-virtual-link-downloads/
I extracted the drivers and installed them. USB Control center still has the same problem. Installed SX Virtual Link software and it works.
    http://i.imgur.com/7wSEq8i.png
It works really well. I decided to hook up a USB Hub and put on different devices to see what I can do. The only Disapointment was the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema was not found. If did find a few other random things.
    http://i.imgur.com/aBI66jY.png
The only downside is that With the USB hub the router can no longer find USB storage devices to act like a nas. I'm ok with that since I did not like the idea of router in control of internet data sharing. I am ok with the fact that I can still hook up a thumbdrive via SX Virtual Link. In fact thumb drive not reconized by the usb storage in the router can be used via the SX Virtual Link. What I'm looking at now is hooking up an external DVD drive to it for devices that do not have drives. SX Virtual Link DOes reconized when a device is in use by a computer running USB Control center. there is no compatibility uses.
I am using Windows 7 64bit on an hp laptop with an A6 chipset connected wirelessly to an EA6500 router.
In short if you are having issues with USB Control center and your other drivers are up to date then just try the SX Virtual Link.
I felt this neede to go somewhere on the net.

Great Advice and solution Rob, it is working with your advice.
    Thanks
