My Mac App Store game keeps shutting down

I downloaded the game Evac last night from the Mac App Store. Its a kind of Pacman clone just more "modern" and "puzzly".
I absolutely loved it, but today it wont start. It asks me whether or not to "Restore windows" like it crashed or something last time i used it. I don't think it did, but anyway I've tried restarting several times, deleting it, re-downloading it, etc. and still it keeps asking me if I want to restore windows.
I havent changed a thing on my computer since yesterday.
I cant find any help about it anywhere - the gamecompany's website contains no help at all.
I am wondering if there's a preferences file somewhere that i can delete to stop it from saying this restore windows thing.
I've have looked in the preferences folder under ~/library and there is no pref file that even slightly sounds like Evac or Hexage as the company is called.
Somebody Heeelp...
PS. everything is up-to-date on my MBP.

Hi...
I found the app developer's website and an email address for them.
That should open a new Mail window for you. If not, copy and paste the email address to a new mail window for your email client.
Their website is here .>   http://www.hexage.net/evac/index.html

  • Games keep shutting down-error code Flash10e.ocx... PLEASE HELP :)

Hello there.  I'm having problems playing some online games, that I never had before.  I'm not too computer literate, but I'm not a complete moron either, lol.  Anyhoo, here's the deal.  The game will run for approximately 7 minutes or so, then it will freeze and a window will pop up and tell me that it adobe flash player has encountered a problem and needs to close.  It gave me the error code Flash10e.ocx, if that helps at all.  I've even uninstalled the flash player and re-installed it and that didn't help at all.  If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it, as this is getting quite annoying.  Thanks

Hi Sunny, OCG started his own thread and I just replied to it.
It is always helpful to post your operating system and browser(s) and versions. Also since the 64bit is out more than before that info also. Whether you are using the 32bit or the 64bit.
    Thanks,

  • Mac app store keeps crashing on OSX 10.6.8

I can open and browse the Mac App store on my MBP but as soon as I try to download any apps the App Store hangs and I have to use Force Quit to shut it down.  I have tried all the suggestions I have read elsewhere including deleting all the plist files from the library, repairing permissions, starting in safe mode, deleting the app store app and copying it across from my iMac where it runs perfectly but without success.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks

Install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
That will reinstall the Mac App Store for you.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8.

  • My mac keeps shutting down by itself

My mac keeps shutting down by itself. Seems to be when I'm trying to edit video on FCPX or when kids are playing a game. Its an older 2009 20" imac 2.66 Ghz Intel core Core 2 Duo running OS X 10.9.4
How can I stop this please? Thanks

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Note the timestamps of the BOOT_TIME log messages, which refer to the times when the system was started. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
☞ When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
☞ If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
☞ Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • HT1338 hi my iPhoto app keep shutting down what should i do?

hi my iPhoto app keep shutting down what should i do?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see when iPhoto opens or tries to open, i.e. how soon does it crash?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • Mac mini keeps shutting down for no reason

My mac mini keeps shutting down for no reason. If I try to turn it on right after it shuts down, it won't or I may hear a chine, power light lit up for about 5 seconds and turns off. I have to wait a while before it would turn on again. And sometimes it stays on for 15 min, 2 hrs or 1 full night ... but then the cycle happens again.

Make sure the power cord is attached firmly to the back of the Mini. If so, try a clean install of Snow Leopard (or whatever version of OS X it came with). If neither of those suggestions works, it's likely a bad power supply, in which case you'll need to take it to an Apple store or call Apple support.

  • When switching on my Mac Pro on bootup it keep shutting down then eventually it works fine

When switching on my Mac Pro on bootup it keep shutting down then eventually it works fine

I also have the exact same problem with my early 2008 Mac Pro.  Last spring, the video card that came with the unit burned out.  I brought it in to the Apple Store in my area, but they were unable to really help me out.  I ended up replacing the card, but about two or three weeks ago I started having the same exact issue that you do - the Mac would suddenly die occasionally, and then would take quite a few tries to come back up.  It seems that resetting the PRAM helps temporarily with me.  It has been up since about 3 PM so far, and it is behaving.
My main issue is that replacement parts are expensive for this machine.  If I were to replace the power supply and the logic board, Apple would charge me about a thousand bucks!  That's simply too much money to drop on a 4 year old computer.
My solution is that I will run it for a while longer, and replace it with the Mac Mini with the ATI GPU.  The Mini is about 85% as powerful according to Geekbench, and if it dies I will not be out more than a few hundred bucks.
I will be migrating all my OpenCL code to FreeBSD as well, because replacing a power supply or motherboard in a generic DIY PC is only a hundred or two dollars at the most.

  • Mac App Store needs real System Requirements for Games

After reading about the 2011 Apple Design Awards I decided to download Anomaly: Warzone Earth from the Mac App Store. The system requirements listed are "Mac OS X 10.6 or later".
My 2006 MacBook Pro runs 10.6.7 fine, so I thought I would be able to play, but my 2 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB ram, and ATI X1600 graphics card are apparently nowhere near fast enough to actually play the game. Sure, the app launches, but the menu interface is jerky and the actual gameplay is completely unplayable. Instead of even laggy lo-res graphics, the screen is just a blank grey field with no visuals.
If the App Store told me more specifically that a faster graphics card, more video memory, or a faster processor were required to play, I would have not bought the game (or at least waited until I upgraded my computer).
I was tempted to try the game on my Windows 7 partition via Bootcamp (since Windows seems to have better graphics drivers and can often run the same games faster) but I don't feel like shelling out more money for another version that likely won't run.
    TL;DR
I wish the Mac App Store listed real system requirements, instead of just assuming that nobody would keep using the same computer for five years.

  • Mac App Store keeps asking for my wife's account to update software but she no longer has an account on my iMac.

My wife used to have an account on my iMac and then she deleted her account when she no longer needed it. Now I cannot update three software packages in the Mac App Store. Software update keeps telling me updates are available but when I try to update them, I get a message that I need to sign on using my wife's account and apple id. I am the only user on my iMac and I am an administrator. Why can't I update the software? I do not want to have to add my wife's account back on my iMac and I should not have to.

  • Mac pro keeps shutting down without warning

I have a 15 inch Macpro running Mac OS X Lion, version 10.7.3. It keeps shutting down without any warning. The screen just goes black and I have to press and hold the power button for a while till a hear a sound to turn the system off. This is happening like, more than 5 times a DAY. Please help, any suggestions are welcome.

Dose this issue happen when the computer is plugged in? or only when it's unplugged from power?
Have you checked for software updates? if so, have you installed all the updates? (apple menu, software update, install updates, reboot, repeate untill there are no more updates)
If the issue is happening while power is plugged in, have you tried a SMC Reset and NVRAM Reset?
Is there any thing externaly connected to the computer besides power? if so, haveyou tried removing those items; to see if the issue only happens while those devices are connected?
Do you know if yoru MacBook Pro has a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT? (apple menu, about this mac)
Do you have any kind of keyboard cover? if so, have you tried removing the keyboard cover, dose the issue still happen?
You could also try running an Apple Hardware Test. If it give you any error codes; I would suggest writing down the exact error message it displays.
Also it might be a good idea to set the graphic card to run on the high end card; and see if the issue still happens. (apple menu, system prefrences, energy saver, At the top there should be a check box along the lines of use best graphic performance at all time, check this box)
