My mac be very hot and the underside becomes larger.
I can't screw it beacuse the large screw holes.
I wonder if i can buy a new to this old mac?
Sorry for my bad english

Take your Mac to an Apple Store or Apple certified repair provider.
Do not try to take it apart. The battery could be expanding.
Check to see if your warranty is still good here > Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage
If you mean trade the Mac you have now for a new one at an Apple Store? No, they do not take trade ins.

after a restart it works for a time, but always slow. I went to the Applestore this afternoon and the made a check and said it would be the logicboard and they would have to change it for CHF 600 and it would be ready in 10 - 15 days

I did yesterday. They inspect and repaired it. And gave me back my phone and claim that its was not assembled well at start. was an un aglinment. They have fixed it and aglined it according to them. I dont feel that that could be the reason. I have used it for half a yr already now then its un aglinment appears?

  • My iPod touch 4G keeps getting very hot and the apps keep crashing

My iPod Touch 4G has been getting very hot and the apps keep crashing. What can I do?

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart..  Reset..  Restore from Backup..  Restore as New...
Try a Reset of the Touch... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Touch Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Touch On...
If that does not help... See Here:

  • My mac is always hot and the batterry runs just for 2 o 3 hours

my mac is hot from nothing and the battery works for 2 hours. help, how can i fix this problem

Runaway applications can shorten battery runtime, affect performance, and increase heat and fan activity

  • My laptop is getting very hot and the fan seems to always be on. The battery dies quickly too.

Mac Pro 4 + years old. Bottom getting hot. Fan seems to run constantly when in use, or when charging. The charge does not last longer than 2 to 2.5 hours. Unplugging seems to cool it off as well as shutting down.

    Pre-Mavericks
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.

  • Late Macbook Pro getting hot and the fan is getting louder

My Macbook is getting very hot and the fan gets louder the longer I have my Macbook on.
It happens whenever and wherever I use it, I don't play games often as I use my Macbook for my Uni work.
    Does anyone have any advice?

It would help if you indicated the EXACT model MBP that you have.
    Perform a SMC reset:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If no success, open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and set %CPU to display values from high to low.
Download from the Internet a temperature monitoring app like Bresink:
    http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html
Post images of both for inspection.
Open the MBP and look for dust an debris inside it, especially in the fans.  Clean it out if necessary.
    Ciao.

  • I am getting very slow performance from my i7, 27" iMac and it is very hot to the touch. Is this a sign of an imminent failure coming?

I get the colour wheel constantly after most clicks of the mouse and the unit is very hot causing the fan to start running for simple operations like checking email. Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions.
    Thanks...

If you have more than ten or so files or folders on your Desktop, move them, temporarily at least, somewhere else in your home folder.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable. Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the slowdown.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
    Select the CPU tab.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
    Step 2
Launch the Console application in the same way as above, and select “kernel.log” from the file list. Post the dozen or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
If there are runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Do not post many repetitions of the same message.

  • My macbook pro was on sleep mode, and when i opened it again, it wouldn't come off the black screen. It is very hot and also doesn't respond to the power button...

My macbook pro was "asleep". I opened it later, and the screen wouldn't change from black.. The bottom of the laptop is very hot and making a hissing/whirring sound. I tried hitting the power button to turn it off, but the conditions just stayed the same. It doesn't respond to the power button, and the screen just stays black. How do i fix this?!

I will go to the Apple store.  I just thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone had a solution.  They repaired this macbook before twice.  The last time they replaced several things to fix the screen.  I just threw out the question to see if someone could save me the trip to the store.
I was curious if the new programs (like lego games) can cause the computer to run to a point to blank the screen.
And curious if there are other things I can try to get the screen up and running.

All Apple power supplies work world-wide with the proper plug adapter.
I have my MacBook plugged into the grid all the time, 24 hours a day w/o any problems.
