My mac book air doesnt turn off and if i put the screen down doesnt sleep
My mac book air doesnt turn off if i click on shut down . it is not sleeping either. if i put the screen down it keeps turning on and the apple logo keeps blinking. it only turns off if i press the power button for few seconds . Please help. Another thing is condensation . i opened my mac 2 days ago there was water on keys and on the screen I guess extremes of temperature caused moisture to develop. What seems to be the issue with its turning off and sleeping. Thank God the water didnt short circuit it. Its still working but just not sleeping or shutting down normally. Please help needed. I love my MAC and cant afford to loose it ! HELP !!
You will want to show it to an AASP to have it checked.

Mac Book Air Backlight Turns Off
A few times the backlight for the display of my Mac Book Air has gone off (for seemingly usual reasons) but then does not come back on in response to keyboard input.
The display works because you can sort of see silouettes of movement on the dark screen, but no display back light.
Has anybody encountered this problem?
The laptop works great 99.9% of the time, so mostly I'm wondering if the backlight problem is something others have experienced that might get worse and that I should have somebody look at.
Moving the power cable around at its connection point or pulling it out and snapping it back seems to fix the problem, maybe because the change in power clues the software to change the intensity (or maybe there's a loose wire near the power connection?).
While a bit anecdotal, it seems more likely to happen when there is a light breeze blowing down on laptop from an Air Conditioning vent about 8 feet up on the ceiling (as is one of the tables I work at occasionally, and the vent is the only difference I notice from other areas where I work... maybe just coincidence).
I would take it to the store for an opionion except I cannot reproduce it on demand yet, it just occasionally happens.
Thanks for any info!OS X version?

Why my mac book air warms up more and more often, more and more hot
Why my mac book air warms up more and more often, and more and more hot
I have this problem too when I use heavy applications like big intense games. When you use this, a lot of memory and CPU space is taken up. This causes the fan to spaz out. The fan tries to cool it off, which in turn makes an awkward loud noise. If it makes noise/and/or gets loud, go to "Activity Moniter" and see if anything is taking up a large amount of CPU %. If anything is 30%-70%, that a lot. Earlier, I transfered 2,400 pictures from my iPod to my Air, and it went crazy. Within like 3 minutes of it transferring, it got hot. I looked at the CPU %, and it was anywhere from 80%-somehow like 230%. Anything like games or apps or a lot of internet browsers can warm it up. One other huge thing that can cause this is airflow. If you operate it on like a pillow or something soft and/or somewhere with low airflow/circulation, your computer will get hot. So, either use it in your lap or on something like a table, and try not to overwork the computer. If neither of these things help, bring it in to the Apple store. I hope this helped! Good luck!

My Mac book is randomly turning off.
Hi my Mac book is randomly turning off usually at a little bit under half battery. The computer is about two to three years old and I use it a lot. Why is it doing this and what should I do? I am taking it in to the apple store tomorrow. Around how much will it cost to get in.
An examination at the Apple store will not cost you anything. Be sure to make a reservation so you don't have to wait too long at the Genius Bar. If there is a repair required there may be a cost for that.
Have you tried resetting the System Management Controller? That would be the first step I would try for most power related issues.
Best of luck. -
my iphone 4 only turns on when its plugged into a wall and when it finally turns on it lasts for about a minute then it turns off and while its on the signal says searching, what should i do?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. You likely have a bad battery.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one with a new battery for $79. They do not fix yours.
Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace yur battery for less. Google for more.

I erase my mac book pro to factory setting and cannot re-install the software. I received a message saying my Apple ID has not yet used with the App store. Please review your account information. Could anyone help please. I need to re-install my os.
Use Internet Recovery. You shouldn't need an AppleID. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718
Internet Recovery will install the OS that shipped with the Mac. You can then upgrade to Mavericks if that was not it.
Do you have an App Store account? Did you ever use it to install the OS? -
Why does my 1st gen iPad always turns itself off and goes back to the screen. Whether I'm reading news, iBooks, etc, suddenly it goes off.
If that doesn't help, the battery may be dying and need replacement. See here (tap on Battery Replacement): http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad
Alternately, might consider start saving for a new iPad. The newest iPad 6 should come out in the next few months. When it does, sellers will want to get rid of old inventory with good deals. -

This iPad hasn't been backed up in 3 weeks.
Backups happend when this iPad is plugged in,

My daughters iPod wont turn off and has a blank white screen. i tried to restore it to the original state and it is still the same. is this fixable? thank you for your help
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I cannot get the windows 8 disc out of my mac book pro
Force eject a stuck cd/dvd
First try the normal methods to remove the disc. Drag its icon to the Trash can in the Dock or select 'Eject' from the File menu.
If you are running a virtual machine, e.g. VMFusion, ensure that the CD is disconnected from the virtual machine. This will sometimes allow the CD to now show up in Mac OS X.
Shut down the computer and start up whilst holding down the mouse button. This may take some time, but keep your finger on the mouse button right up until the disc comes out or the log-in screen has appeared.
If you have Toast Titanium installed on your computer, choose EJECT DISC from the menubar.
Sometimes you can successfully use the eject disc button in iTunes even if the disc is not visible to the Finder
Open Disc utility and choose the disc you wish to eject in the left-hand pane, then click on the Eject button.
Some Macintoshes have a paperclip hole that you can insert a straightened paperclip into, manually triggering the eject mechanism.
Open Terminal and type "drutil tray eject" to eject the disc/tray, and "drutil tray close" to close the tray.
If your computer has an eject button on the keyboard, restart the computer holding down the Option key. When the startup disk selection screen appears, let go of the option key and press the keyboard's eject button.
