My mac book air fan is staying on, how can I get it back to normal?

I cna hear the processor or fan in my Mac Book Air, and it won't stop. Has anyone had a similar problem? Does anyone have any ideas about how I might resolve this issue? Thanks for your help!

First, reset the SMC. It will restore the fan speed, so if it was changed, it will be restored to normal settings and the fan will work correctly
